Description of Work: Mr. Morren arrived with a sub-contractor who he assured us was better at this type of work than he was: float drywall & texture. The scope of work was to check the work previously done in the room to be certain that it was ready for a knock-down texture, make repairs where necessary and apply the texture to match that in an adjoining room which Mr. Morren had done the previous year. When the job was completed several seams in the ceiling were obviously visible and the texture did not match. The sub-contractor said he was not aware that we wanted him to fix the ceiling joints and told us that Mr. Morren agreed with him, then said he would redo it for an additional $200. We did not talk to Mr. Morren about this and he did not attempt to contact us about this misunderstanding. We ended up contacting another drywall contractor who redid the entire room at an additional cost to us of $600, but at least it matches the texture in the adjoining room.

Description of Work: He took on the remodel of a dental office while allowing us to stay open during regular business hours. He was very professional, punctual, honest and reasonably priced. He communicates in a way that keeps us connected throughout the whole process. He was always positive, even through the (very few) setbacks, and we found him to be creative in many ways to help us re-think obstacles we hadn't expected. He stayed on or ahead of schedule, and brought in the extra help when it was needed. He worked well with the other contractors we hired. We have remodeled this building about 5 times, and this is by far the best experience we have had. I plan on having Hugh come to my house to do some work soon. I have no negative things to say about Hugh Morren.

Description of Work: Called the provider and told him what I needed. He said he'd get back to me and asked for an address. I texted the address and never heard from him. I understood he was "busy", but a call would have helped. Its 5 days later and still no response.

Description of Work: Hugh sealed, textured and painted master bath, entry,dining room and kitchen areas of my house. He was upfront and professional in his estimate and final charges, showed up promptly when scheduled, and was extremely careful in protecting the areas not being painted. He did a nice job, and I would definitely use him again.

Description of Work: I called Hugh and he did call me back on the same day but was unwilling to set up a definite time to meet with me. He gave me one option which I could not be at home at that time and said well it will have to wait. I may call him again but if the same thing happens, I can't say I would recommend him. Most people are at least willing to meet after hours to take a quick look at things and give you an estimate, but that did not seem to be the case with Hugh.

Description of Work: I had to get my home ready to put on the market. We had an inspection done on the home and there were several items that had to be fixed. These items included: painting, replacing rotten wood on the outside of the home around windows, doors replaced, thresholds fixed, water fixtures replaced, main water valve into home replaced and several others. Mr. Morren gave me an estimate on the issues outlined in the report. Because we live out of state it was important that the timing worked out. He kept to his word, his crew was there the day I landed in Corpus and they were totally professional. They fixed little things that were not on the list to ensure that the home was show ready. I could never have gotten my home on the market by the 1st of November if it hadn't been for there expertise and professionalism. They kept me informed on issues and made suggestions to save me money and add to the value of the house. I would recommend this company to anyone in the area that is in need of a contractor. The cost was exactly what was estimated. His bid was very fair, I got two other bids on the job.

Description of Work: I had the ballast in a fluorescent light replaced. They brought one they purchased at Lowes and installed it and it didn't work. They were very patient troubleshooting the problem, went back to Lowes and installed a second one that worked. They also rehung some guttering that had come down off the house. I was missing a 90 degree turn piece. They got that while they were at Lowes and even painted it to match the rest of the guttering.

Description of Work: No services performed. While Hugh did return our call immediately, He did not follow up with a call to let us know when he would drop by for an estimate on stalling a Doggie Door. He did tell us that he was on a project for the week and would call as soon as he was done with his current project. Which was OK since we were not in any hurry. Well, I was very disappointed that he never returned our call. It's been over a month. Ugh!!

Hugh stayed in touch with me throughout the process, gave us a detailed plan of what he was going to do, and provided an estimate that was very fair. He came to our home prepared, ready to work and on time. Hugh was very polite and conducted himself professionally. I will definitely call upon Hugh for more work that I need done around the house.

 + 0 moreThis guy was AWESOME!!!! I had called several other contractors and they all were glad to take my call and my phone number and said they would get back with me. I never heard from them again and they also would not take my calls again after the initial call. I realized that this was a small job , but all they had to say is that they were not interested. Anyway I decided to call Mr. Morren and he took my call and said he was on another job but he would call me back in about a week and come out and see exactly what I needed done. Needless to say, I did not think I would hear back from this guy either. Mr. Morren called me back in exactly a week and came out to the house (right on time too!) gave me a reasonable quote for the work. He was very polite and courteous and very professional. We set up a time and date for the work.. He showed up right on time, did what he said he was going to do and completed the work in about 5 hours. He cleaned up everything and even offered to haul off the old trim. The work he did was beautiful and I wish I had the money to do the whole house. I would definitely have Mr. Morren back to do the job. I feel so good that I have finally found a good "Handyman" to help me out.. I will definitely call him back for any other projects I have.

The bathroom is beautiful and Hugh did such a great job that we will now be using him to do a complete remodel on our kitchen.
Description of Work: Performed a complete bathroom remodel from the bare studs. Custom built tile shower, tile floors, walls and v-cap and bullnose trim. Installed plumbing valves, hardware, tubs, toilets and sinks. Installed new windows. Paint and carpentry trim work. Millwork on doors and windows. Re-textured sheetrock in all bedrooms and replaced all doors, windows and trim.
