I got a living social promo for air duct cleaning up to 10 vents (I have 6) for $22. I was overcharged. He opened one vent and headed straight for the furnace where he tried to tell me the inside thing needed cleaning and that would be an additional $100. An a/c contractor had 5 days earlier told me it was ok. I declined his offer and he proceeded to hurry through the vent cleaning, basically vacuuming the area of the vents with an approximately 2 inch diameter hose. He did shove the hose deeper into the ducts, but not more than about 5 feet without any fixture attached to the hose. He perfunctorally replaced the vent screws and on one he did not replace one of the 2 screws. I am not sure any of the 5 vents are actually securely fastened. Yes 5. He refused to do the upstairs bathroom vent because one of the screws proved difficult to remove and he said he couldn't spend all his time on the screws. His total time in my home was about 30 minutes. He did vacuum up after himself but after he left, when I turned the a/c on the vents spewed out more and I spent as much time vacuuming as he did, I understand the promo was a loss leader designed to upsell additional services, but the lack of professionalism and attitude made me feel my $22 was ill spent.
