Description of Work: No work was done as after I purchased and tried to schedule was informed they dont to work for rental units. No where on the in the description did it say that. I have wasted my time and energy discovering that they wouldbt do they work. Now I must spend more time requeting a refund. Thanks

Horrible experience
Description of Work: Wanted to get a ceiling fan installed, took 45 minutes to give me an estimate. Told me I needed to pay between $9000 - $10000 before they would do any work. Complete rip off!

Thank you for allowing us to visit your home regarding your project. I know it seems crazy that your technician would leave such an estimate. Have you ever had a mechanic work on your car and then a few weeks later find something else wrong? What was your response? It may have been: "Why didn't the mechanic find this other problem while he had my car in his shop?" Very Frustrating. This can happen in your home too. Imagine the review you would have written if we would have installed your fans and then in a few weeks they stop working, the breaker trips or god forbid the breaker doesn't trip and a fire is started. All because the electrician didn't do his job and explore the entire system for issues. I know this seems like we are trying to just bid big jobs. But the alternative is to catastrophic to consider. So I will keep training my electricians to make sure all electrical systems are safe and the homeowner is educated about it and once or twice a year I will get a review like this. If it keeps you safe then it is worth it. Most homes need additional work. The dangerous part of electrical systems is not that they stop working, its that they keep working and the safety features are failed. The same as if your car drives fine but the brakes don't work. Still works,not safe to drive. In this homeowners situation they have a 40 year home that needs a lot of attention. By the way, here is the technicians exact words he wrote for the customer: "Today we were called out to install a ceiling fan, a bathroom exhaust fan, and figure out why two bathroom outlets are not working, and install a box for the stove outlet in the kitchen. The outlets in the bathroom have only 67v from neutral to hot. There is 120v from hot to ground. The panel is literally melting and has to be replaced. The main lug is melting and the wire is melting going to it in the past someone taped the wire with electrical tape in hopes that it would stay safe. The problem with the bathroom outlets may stem from the panel. The stove outlets need to be put in the wall but it's not that simple. The 2017 Electric code requires a 3-wire circuit for the stove right now you have a 2-wire circuit. As a licensed electrician I can only put my name on a up to code product. The condition of the panel is a fire hazard and must be fixed before we can do anything inside the home. " I hope whoever you have work on you home addresses the safety concerns they find and doesn't just install you fan. Thank you

Description of Work: I needed about 50 feet of low voltage (cat 5) cable run from one room to another room. The work included running cable for two inside walls with drops in them already, across the attic and adding wall plates. I was told before starting that the cost would be around $900. Everyone else I spoke with after that offered bids of $150-200 for 2 hours max of work. This guy wanted me to pay him $450/hour to run one low voltage cable. I heard that electricians look down on low voltage cable work but this is insane.

Description of Work: During the severe rain and flooding in April 2016 in Houston we had a lightening strike near our home. This required some electrical and HVAC work. Universal came out quickly diagnosed the problem and took care of it. They shared their pricing with us and helped write up a report for our insurance provider.
