Description of Work: I knew that I'd need to provide the appropriate caulk but I didn't realize that what I had was not up to snuff. Okay, fair enough. But for a small shower stall, I had to purchase - from the vendor - 2 tubes of caulk at $20 each. It was a surprise. Beyond that, he did a fine job.

I wasn’t home when they did the work but my husband was and he thought they were good.
Description of Work: They removed mildewed caulk from a marble tiled walk in shower and re-caulked it. They also removed mildew in the grout but they didn’t get it all. They were only scheduled for 1/2 hour and I think the time ran out.

As noted above: We scheduled the service for a Saturday after purchasing the Big Deal for $199. Two hours past his scheduled time to arrive we called him and were told he had car problems. His phone seemed to be working fine, but could not be bothered to call us. The following Monday we called and rescheduled. The exact same thing, he never showed up and when WE called HIM, he said he had car problems. When asked why he had not called, he became very rude and said he was working on his car. Do Not use this company - I cannot understand why Angie's List allows them to offer a Big Deal - Lately Angie's List has become a Big Disappointment!

He called before coming to let me know he was on his way. When he arrived, I showed him what I wanted done. He asked if I wanted to supply the materials or purchase them from him for an extra cost. I bought the materials from him for an additional nominal cost. The total cost included the $99 Big Deal purchase as well as the additional materials. Upon completion, everything was in order and the service was completed to my satisfaction, including the clean up. I would absolutely recommend this service provider to others.

The "Big deal" that you bought thru Angie's list for $99.00 is for labor only which was clearly specified in the deal, as well as that the client would have to provide the materials. I do not believe it is fair that we get a bad review for a confusion on your behalf on not fully reading the content of the deal and what exactly was offered. Our prices are fair and we take pride in our jobs.

I purchased the $99 deal for 3 hours of caulking services. Made an appointment for 2 weeks after the purchase date via phone. The guys didn't show up on the appointment date and didn't call. I was unable to get a hold of them via telephone that day. I received a message on Angie's List the next day telling me they lost all my information and wanted to re-book the service. I replied to them on Angie's List but they did not return my message for 4 days, so I called them again and I re-booked the appointment for 2 weeks later via phone. On the second appointment date, they showed up on time and were very nice. I did not realize that caulking was not included for the job, but they told me they would supply the caulking and charge $20 per tube. They took their time, which was good, since the deal is for 3 hours. It was a small job, so after ~2 hours, I paid them $60 since they said the job took 2.5 tubes of caulking (full price for the third tube even though I will have no future use for it before it dries up). This came to $160 total with the $99 deal, which I don't think is a very good deal in the end. After the job was completed I came to know that the exact tubes of caulk they sold to me for $20 are sold at home depot for $8. If I had known caulking was not included and that I would be charged more than double the price I would have purchased the tubes myself since I had 1 month to prepare for this job. In the end, I am very happy with the result, the guys were very nice and did a great job. I am just not happy with how difficult it was to book an appointment and the fact that I feel ripped off with the price of materials. They had the chance to inform me multiple times to buy my own caulking but wanted to make extra money at the cost of a good review on Angie's List.

We are happy that you were satisfied with the job. On the other hand, we are not trying to over charge anyone with our materials. We charge a fair price for the overall project. Keep in mind that we take the time to go to the store to buy the materials which involves time and money from our part. More over, there are many other materials that we do not charge which are used in the job. Our main goal is to provide a high quality job for our customers and not just get good reviews. We do apologize for all the inconvenient with the appointment.

We only reschedule one time which was the only time that we lost the information. Then we got in contact with you to schedule the cleaning other times but never agree on a day to come, because the days that we had available you were not available. Then You said you were leaving town and that you were going to call us back to schedule at your arrival and we never heard back from you.

We paid for the "big deal" to have the grout changed in our shower. When the service tech arrived he asked my wife if we had grout and she said no, the big deal did not require us to furnish the grout, but he said that we had to pay him an extra $20 to get grout if we wanted it replaced. She agreed and then he said that the floor in the shower had been painted and he could not replace the grout until we had it painted again, apparently he wanted to paint it and charge us more money so my wife said no and he left and did only about $20 worth of work we paid $99 for. I talked to another tile person who said his remarks were not correct, since we wanted him to replace the grout he would replace all the painted grout (he said it was painted, but we have no knowledge of that and if it was it must have been a clear paint) and since it was replaced it wouldn't need painting. We ask for reimbursement of the $99 less the $20 worth of work he performed and also ask why he said the job didn't come with grout when the deal did not say that. We will never use this firm again

Response from Marblelous Stone Works
I apologize for the confusion that you might have in regards to the job performed. What I replaced and charge was the silicone around the glass door on the shower. I explained to your wife that I could not touch the grout on the shower due to it has been painted and what it appeared to be missing grout was actually paint peeling off. Furthermore, I fixed the grout on the outside wall next to the glass door and I did not charge for the grout. If you double check the invoice that I provided, you will find that what I actually charge was a tube of clear silicone. In regards to the "big deal," Angie's list charged for 3 hours of labor for one technician or 1.5hr for two technicians. The $99 was for labor only, and in the deal was explained that it only included the labor and that the materials will had to be provided by the client. Should you have any questions in regards to the "Big deal" and what were the $99.00 dollars for, you should call Angie's List customer service and they should be able to respond in regards to this matter. Once again, I apologize for the confusion as it is our main concern that our clients have the best experience and satisfaction. Should you have further questions in regards to this matter, do not hesitate and contact me at (281) 975-7032 Julian Fernandez.

They had to remove old caulking and clean up some old grout lines prior to resealing everything. During the job they took the time to clean around the areas that were not accessible unless the caulking was removed. Caulk lines are straight however could have been a little thinner. The shower looks great.
Description of Work: They were offering up to $300 of labor for $99 via Angie's List. We are considering selling our home and building another home however the master shower needed re-caulking and some grout repair prior to showing.

He used a special acid to remove mildew stain, applied new grout throughout shower where the old had failed. Because the grout needed time to dry completely, he sold us the professional shower grout for a small charge. We are very happy with the work and will recommend this company to everyone. Additionally, the owner kept in touch with us to make sure we knew when he was coming...and he was on time.

They came and sealed my indoor saltillo tile and did a fine job except they made a big stain on my hardwood floors in the process. They were also late every time they came over,,,by at least an hour. They stripped the outdoor tile and said they needed to leave it for four days before they could seal it. It was really hard to pin them down to a time to come back and of course were late again. After they sealed it it looked really bad after a few days, the sealant had started to peal. They came back and started the process over. Again, late every time. The tile now looks way worse than it ever did before they started the process. The last time they came they checked for water underneath the tile (not sure why they didn't do this on the INITIAL visit). They said since there was water under the tile it was my fault the sealant wouldn't work and they refused to refund any of my money. Bottom line: THey didn't check first to see if there was water under the tile just slapped a cheap sealant over the top then refused to give me any money back. They were called to "restore" my tile not just slap a quick fix sealant over the top. I am now out 1,000 bucks. It was a really long and arduous experience.

Marblelous came in and fixed the counters, and did so quickly and for a reasonable price. Given how badly the counters were damaged, my wife and I had braced ourselves for bad news in terms of cost, but the quote was much less than expected. Our technician rescheduled our appointment once, but the second time was a charm, and after about two hours of work, our counters were as good as new. Would definitely use again!

I thought they did pretty good. I recommend that you make sure you specify exactly what you what done before they are going to do it. I got the impression they were going to take out the old grout and re-grout it. Instead, they put grout in places where they thought it needed to be. The floor looks nice, but the grout could look better. When they were cleaning up, they threw some of the solution behind the hedge on the brick. It is white and I am unable to get it off. They were nice enough people and came in and completed the work. They were on time and did a decent job. The only thing is that I should have been more specific with what I wanted.

The project took three days in which Julian and his team with Marblelous arrived on time ready to work. TThe team was extermley knowledgable, friendly and very efficient in how they worked. They moved furniture , protected my walls and carpet taking very good care of my personal property. The team worked from 9 a.m .until 5 p.m the first two days working on the floors room by room so they would not disturb the entire household. On the third day the team completed the job working till almost 8 p.m They did not leave until they were assured the house was put back in order putting back all of the furniture. The floors look brand new giving the house a new look. I feel like I'm in a new house when I walk through my door now. I must admit I was picky but Julian contintued to work with me until I was satisified. A few days later my dog got really sick and had an accident on the floor which stain the travertine tile. I called Julian and he immediately came by and fixed the problem without charging me. Julian take pride in his work and wants to ensure that his customers are happy. I'm so thankful that for his quick response and attention to detail. I would definitely recommend Marblelous and will continue to use them again for my next cleaning. I am a VERY SATISFIED customer!

Moved into this home about 8 months ago. Most of the downstairs - Kitchen, Dining, Living, Laundry, large Pantry are Travertine. There was no shine at all on the Travertine - the floors were looking dull and dreary and they also looked darker than I would think travertine was supposed to look. Have brick flooring in another room (small wine room) that also looked a little drab and dreary to me. Wanted to get some opinions and bids for possible remedies I thought I got this contractor off Angies list - consulted with Angies to get a few contractors bids and opinions - but when I entered their name to submit this report, it didn't come up. I had done a little internet research about travertine so maybe I stumbled upon this provider from another source. Believe me , this company should be listed on Angies, glad I found Julian and his company. He did a fantastic job. Got two bids, one from Marblelous and one from another well reputed Angies List Super Service Award Company that does stone cleaning and restoration. Both bids came out about the same price wise on the interior travertine/brick floor work. I was also bidding out about 1215 SF of slate restoration for our outside pool/patio and front porch area and I needed the company I selected to also be able to take care of some soot stains on our limestone fireplace surround that was not properly sealed (small job so wanted to include it as part of the larger project). The outside slate work is why I ended up going with Julian at Marbleous, he seemed much more knowledgable about the slate -- how to properly clean (not pressure washing because it causes the slate layers to flake off too much) , enhance and seal the slate properly and also seemed more knowledgable as to what we should do with the brick floor to add a little shine and enhance. His price on the outside slate work was also about 1000.00 less than what the other company quoted. Big difference .. He also said if I did it all he would throw in the clean and seal of the FP for free. Because I booked the same day I got the estimate, he also gave me a 10% discount - good savings on a job of this magnitude. His bid was more detailed - outlining Sf of each room and area and cost per SF which I also like -- I hate it when they just give a dollar figure and no detail as to how they arrived at that price. Julian is the owner of Marblelous and he also does the work himself. No subcontractors involved. He is english speaking, courteous and was very knowledgeable, happily answering all my questions. It took 2.5 days to complete all the interior stone/brick work. He didn't arrive early -- he arrived with his assistant typically around 10 AM and stopped before 5PM. They moved the furniture and were careful with it, they taped off and put plastic around all cabinetry, appliances, baseboards/walls, doors and areas where travertine met up with carpet or other tile. Be aware it's a bit disruptive for the homeowner because these areas remain taped off and furniture displaced until the job is completed - so we couldn't really use the kitchen or downstairs living and dining areas for 2.5 days/ nights. First they clean all with stone cleaner, wet grind so no dust particles getting on everything, allow travertine to dry completely, patch any holes or depressions in travertine, then polish to the desired shine level (he did an area and let me determine how much shine I wanted on the floors then did the rest the same way). Sealing was the final step and he used a sealer he said would last minimum of 5 years, water repellant and also creates a slip resistant surface. We will see how long it lasts. He gave me a cleaner, mop, bucket for free with instructions on how to maintain the stone to have it looking nice for years to come. The results are beautiful. Turns out the previous owners had put in two types of travertine - darker and lighter tiles- so Julian said the previous owner must have had the lighter tiles stained to try and match the darker - Julian said shouldn't stain Travertine - will wear off, travertine is not meant to be stained. No wonder certain areas looked so dull and brown -- it was a stain. The stain came off of course during the cleaning, grinding process so the light and dark tiles are more noticeable , less uniformity, but it still looks 200 percent better. They cleaned up, put all the furniture back in place, when the work was completed. Excellent job Julian. His website has before and after pics of floors he restored if you are interested. He did take some pics of mine so maybe he will post them. Seems he cleans, restores, and seals all types of stone, tile and grout. The only complaint, and it is a small one for me, is that he was not that punctual. All the days he was here, he said he would be here at 9:30 and didn't arrive until 10 or shortly thereafter, I was here anyway so it was no big deal to me but he really should have called and said he would be a little later. I've already scheduled him to come out in a few weeks to do the exterior slate. I'll write a report on that when he has completed the work.
Description of Work: Stone (Travertine) and Brick Floor Restoration. Approx. 900 SF of Travertine Flooring Cleaned, grinded, polished and sealed. Approx. 150 SF of Stained Brick Flooring, Cleaned, enhanced and sealed. Limestone Fireplace Surround - Remove soot stains on an area and seal.
