Long Point Pest Control

I had a pest problem and called Long Point Pest Control. They came to spray. About a week later the problem hadn't been taken care of. I dropped a few bug bombs, cleared the cabinets, and the problem seemed to clear up. Long Point called me to schedule another appointment and I told them about my concern. They deflected all responsibility, tried to blame it on me, and the final straw was their denial of culpability by saying I hadn't called to complain to them so it was my own fault. Our home was sprayed outside as well as the attic and our yard. He came on a day that I was sleeping and we did not have to leave or remove our dog. We set them up on a quarterly basis and were more than pleased with the results.

I'd been hearing noises/scratching in the attic and walls of my home at night and in the morning during cold weather, so I decided to seek professional assistance. I was impressed from the moment I called Long Point Pest Control. They were professional and cheerful, scheduling an appointment for me the very same day of my call. Their representative showed up right on time. They were knowledgeable and professional and did a thorough inspection of my home. They determined that squirrels were entering my home via an air conditioning duct and getting into the attic for shelter during cold weather, as there were no droppings and there were no holes in my roof. They recommended a simple fix to block access into my home that my boyfriend could do on his own very inexpensively, and they said to call them if we had any additional problems. No charge for the visit! They were so professional, knowledgeable, courteous and helpful that I would not hesitate to use them in the future or to recommend them to my friends. They treated for drywood termites. I have used them in the past and will continue to use and refer them.

Raul was extremely professional, he came to evaluate the roach problem and and informed us that particular type only lives outside. He also told us beetles we had in our kitchen were from food we brought into our pantry and if we found the source we could easily get rid of them. He suggested a few ways we could decrease the roaches living around our foundation that we could do on our own. I especially liked the fact that he didn't sell us on any type of service that was unnecessary. Ultimately, we could do all of our pest control with basic products that you could find at Home Depot, so we didn't have them come perform any service. When we do have issues, we will definitely call them out again.

Daniel and his crew were amazing. They got immediately to work as per the estimate and completed it quickly. They informed us that it was a possibility that the rodents could also access our attic via pipes beneath our house (we have a block and beam foundation) and that if that was happening there would be an additional charge to prevent that. Daniel was honest that he had never done that type of abatement before but would check with his supervisor. All in all a great experience taking care of a very annoying problem.

I have been using pest control in Houston for 20 years. No joke, this was the most thorough, knowledgeable, honest technician we have ever used. We were afraid we had termites and (thank God), it was just fire ants. He not only did the treatment, but walked us around to show us where the problems were, areas they were hiding, what we need to do going forward, etc. My husband and I were so blown-away, we are going to get on their regular schedule and have them do expanded fire ant service next time. I NEVER write reviews, but they were so good, I had to write something and my words don't even do them justice.

Arrived on Time, everything was completed timely. I have used Long Point Pest many times professionally and personally.

They did an excellent job! They did what they said they'd do and it took only the time that was said it was gonna be done. It went very smoothly.

These guys are very good at what they do. Since we moved into our home 3 months ago, we have used them for various needs such as general pest control service and also personalized service option for a particular insect issue. We always ask for Raul who is genuine and extremely knowledgable and goes above and beyond when it comes to answering our questions and providing us with information about insect prevention as he sees things that may need improvement to keep the critters out. They are one of the most reasonably priced pest control outfits in Houston and seem to be up to date on new technologies, etc. We plan to use them for a very long time.

It was good. They were great to work with. They came out when the appointment was made. There were no problems. They're the first pest control people that I had that went up in the attic and sprayed and did their job to make sure nothing was in the attic. So I intend to have them come back quarterly to have them take care of our house.

We seemed to be successful so far; there's been no activity in the attic for the past couple of weeks - a good sign! The bait boxes have been visited so we'll keep them around for a while. During the application of the sealant for the holes, they accidently damaged an American flag. The company immediately replaced the flag with one of equal or better quality. Danield and his crew did a great job. I'd recommend this company to others.

This was an excellent experience from start to finish! I contacted Long Point Pest Control through their website form and they responded promptly to me via email the next day. Kim and I exchanged several emails to clarify what their services entailed and the cost. I compared them to another company who took longer to get back to me, quoted me a slightly higher price, and did not have weekend appointments. I decided to go with Long Point and the scheduling process was easy. I was able to get an appt. time exactly when I needed it, received a confirmation phone call the day before, and on the day of the appt. Devin arrived on time, which impressed me because no one ever finds our townhouse address without first getting lost and calling me for directions! During the appt., he wore booties over his shoes to protect the floors and was very pleasant and personable. He answered all my questions and worked efficiently. In ther 3 days since he was here, I have found 2 dead bugs and no live ones! Devin talked to me about the advisability of maintenance treatment schedules but was not pushy or trying to sell me any additional products or unwanted services. After he left, I realized I had forgotten about my Angie's List coupon! So I emailed Kim and told her, and she agreed to give me a credit for 10% off my next service, since I had told her I would be using their services again in the future. Overall, this was a completely satisfactory service experience - good communication, prompt and courteous service, reasonable price, really a pleasure to deal with this company.

UPDATE: Long Point did contact me and were very friendly with trying to find a resolution to my unhappy experience. In the end we wanted a service that would get rid of general pests + ants in one go. Even though there were no ants at the time of the visit, I feel we could have been given more information to make a different decision instead of paying for a gel to be placed that may not even get the ants. Since Long Point did contact me, I feel I have been appreciated as a customer and for that reason I will increase their rating in my review. -- We scheduled a pest control consultation to take a look at an ant problem we were having. The tech calls to see if he can come an hour earlier than the appointment because he wanted to finish up his day, but I could not meet him earlier than the agreed upon time. We had some ants appearing in the second floor bathroom, but they were not there at the time the tech was there. He did not take the time to look around in detail to try to see what could be going on. Instead he was pretty quick to tell us that because we live in an attached home, "it's impossible to get to the problem if your neighbors have it too". I was surprised by that, because having an attached home is not unusual, and I'm pretty sure they get pest services done too. Anyway, I describe the kind of ants I think they are and I tell him - red, fire ants. He doesn't seem to believe me because he points to small black ants outside and asks "Are you sure it's not these ants?". I'm pretty sure what kind of ants are crawling around my house and freaking me out! He then says "let's try this gel out - you may see some more ants in the next few days but don't kill them, they will take it back to the colony, etc. etc" "If it's still a problem we can try to spray later". Spray later? Great, more work, more cost? No guarantee now? Red flags. I'm still skeptical but not in the mood to counter, because I asked him several questions and he just seemed to shrug things off and clearly wanted to finish up his day quickly. He puts some gel in some places as I take him around the house. I feel that I should not be telling him where to put the gel, shouldn't he know as this is his job? He also told me to be careful with sugary food lying around. We do NOT have sugar ants! It felt like he didn't take my fire ants theory seriously. Trust me, you will not find sugary food lying around my house as we are very strict low-carb eaters. We had no ants on the kitchen counters or the pantry! All in all, we get charged for this "gel" and "no guarantee that your ants will be gone" and now we have ants in MORE places than before, and in places the gel was not placed. We will not be calling this company back for additional services - we were truly disappointed. Also, their general pest service does not include ants! I will be going elsewhere.

Was thorough and covered the whole property. However the rep was quick to show me that we had a very specific type of termite problem that was only fixable through 2 companies in the Houston area and wonder of wonders; they were one of the two and they could do it for $2800! I wasn't impressed with that aspect but he did cover the property well and they came back for a free pest spray when we moved into the home, no questions asked.

We called to get an estimate. We were asked to remove items from under sinks The price seemed fair so we made an appointment.

Very careful installation and monitoring by on-site watchman during 36 hour period. Informed us to stay out of house for an additional 24 hours. Gave detailed answers to our questions about follow-up (no major cleaning required). Excellent results - every bug we have seen since has been thoroughly DEAD. Also a poor little frog who was apparently under the house. Also two bushes which grew too close to the house to be excluded from the tent.

We originally contacted Long Point Pest Control several months ago to treat what we thought were wasp nests in our backyard. The technician thoroughly examined our yard and said there were no nests present. He suggested that the number of flying insects was related to the diversity of flowering shrubs in our yard. I was impressed that he did not simply spray our yard and send us a bill. He also removed a bee's nest from our front porch at no cost. When we decide to do a general spraying for pests, Long Point were our first choice. In both instances the technician arrived when they said they would and were courteous and professional. Their price is very reasonable and we will likely use them on a quarterly basis.

Service was performed and all questions were answered. Very easy to work with.

Upon returning from a trip, we found a hallway filled with winged bugs. Our home had been treated for termites before we purchased it, so our immediate reaction was that we were re-infested. I checked Anglie's List and noticed Long Point and recognized the name from seeing their trucks in our neighborhood. All the reviews were positive so I gave them a call. I was pleased to hear that they could come out the next morning. I recieved a follow-up call that afternoon confirming my appointment. The next morning, the technition arrived on time, (actually a bit early-bonus!), inspected my problem, and determined that I did not have termites. To my surprise, after all that, there was no charge for coming out!

After having another local pest company that does lots of advertising come out and evaluate what we thought were carpenter ants at my parents home and were told that we had both subterranean and dry wood termites. John from Houston fumigation came out to evaluate the infestation and provide us with a quote. He was extremely thorough, looked under the house, inside the house took samples of the dead bugs and to our amazement, he told us that the other company was wrong. The house was not infested with Dry Wood termites, only the subterranean variety and then he didn't charge us for his time or his expertise. I was extremely impressed and thankful for his honesty and his integrity.

Called them for estimate on termite extermination. Provided great information on website and were very responsive. Three days later completed the work. Crew was very professional. Would do business again.

We woke up this morning to find some suspicious droppings in several rooms of our house - kitchen, living room, down the stairs, and into our first floor bedroom. Although we were hoping it was mud from someone's shoes, we more or less knew this was unlikely and called to have someone come out and investigate ASAP. Long Point was able to have someone out to our home within two hours and even showed up earlier than expected. Raul was great. He investigated where we noted the droppings and looked everywhere else too to make sure he understood the situation. He provided us with some traps and bait boxes, which will hopefully solve the problem. The price was reasonable, and the service was quick and professional.
