Long Point Pest Control

Everyone I worked with from the person who answered the phone when I called for an appointment to the people who applied the treatment were very professional. They came at the alloted time and gave an honest estimate and did a great job doing the work. I had several questions regarding the chemicals and the office was very polite and took time to explain everything to me in great detail which I appreciated.

We thought that the problem had been taken care of but a few weeks later we found out the bats had found a way in to the firewall on the other side of the townhouse. Not having dealt with this problem before I should have asked more questions but felt that this looked like the only entry point. Also the wildlife foam may be effective but does not look very nice on the outside of our house. Devin was very professional and punctual.

I contacted Long Point to get an estimate on termite treattment for our house. An apppoitnment with an inspector was available for 8 am the next business day. The inspector arrived precisely on time, inspected the exterior and interior of the house for signs of termites, and left us with an estimated cost. We were left with literature about the treatment chemical that would be used which provided some very useful information. Due to some other events going on at our house we had a need to schedule the treatment as soon as possible. This made it dfficult for us to do a comprehensive price comparison which is why we gave an N/A rating in that category. It took several phone calls before we succeeded in talking to someone who set up an appointment for treatment. For this reason, we rated the experience B in responsiveness. On the appointed day, the treatment team arrived within 10 minutes of the appointed time. The technician explained what they would be doing and how long it would take to complete the work. The work was completed within the estimated time. The technician then took me around the house and explained what was done where. He also explained that the treatment was goof for perhaps 10 years and that we should have annual inspections to ensure that there are no problems with termites. This was overall a very satisfactory experience and I would definitely use this company again.

ong Point has been taking care of my house for many years handling standard pest control as well as termite protection. The same person, Ed, comes out every quarter and remembers if there were any issues from a prior time. Great service! Very responsive and responsible. I trust having them in my house as well as protecting it.

Mike examined our area of concern and quickly determined we did not have temites but ants. While no service was necessary, he was very helpful in pointing out things we could do to help keep pests from being a problem in the future. I was impressed by his professionalism as well as his demonstrable knowledge. Because of my favorable impression I would definitely use them in the future, as well as recommend them to friends.

Really nice to work with. They were also very sensitive to our concerns about safety for the baby. He sprayed more lightly in areas when the baby plays and in his nursery (I think just the corners instead of all along the baseboards). No weevils -- or any other bugs -- now. Very happy.

We heard a noise in the wall one evening and called Long Point to investigate and treat if necessary. Junior came out, looked throughout the attic and the outside perimeter of the house and concluded we may have rodents. He recommended their rodent exclusion program which involved sealing all possible points of access to the house (places I had not considered) and setting traps. A three man crew came later in the week and accomplised all the work in 3-4 hours. Per the program, Junior would be comimg back to check traps and to address any problems that may have come up. On one of his subsequent visits Junior found a trap had caught a rodent and he disposed of it. No more noises oe evidence of other rodents. The program is good for a year and will assure peace of mind.

I'm selling my house, and the buyer's inspector noted that he found evidence of rodents in my attic. So I called a couple exterminators to get quotes for trapping and removing them and finding and sealing the entrance point(s). Long Point Pest Control was the cheaper of the quotes I got (plus they had an Angie's List coupon), they're local to me, and their employees were very professional and helpful on the phone, so I gave them a shot. The technician they sent out was very knowledgeable and informed me that he thought it was probably rats, and showed me the one hole he found where he suspected they got in. The other company I got a quote from, my usual exterminators, said they didn't find any evidence and also didn't find the same hole. So I scheduled Long Point to come out and seal up the hole, which the technician showed me when he was done, and he set the traps. After a week, he came back to check them, and fortunately there was nothing in them. He suspected that the critter wasn't home at the time the hole was sealed up. He was punctual, friendly, and knows his stuff, and I will be giving the buyer this company's information so that he can have them come check the traps again if he wants.

I called and set up an appointment. The tech arrived when they the said he would be there. He was courteous and professional. He inspected the house, told us what needed to be done and how much it would cost. He did the job quickly and thoroughly.

The service is always done well. Devin, the gentleman who performs these regular services, is always very punctual, polite and does a thorough job....and he likes our lab and vice versa (which is always a plus for me, as I believe dogs are a good judge of character)! Recently, we had a small squirrel problem (the problem was small, the squirrels were not). Devin gave good advice and offered to fill a hole created by the squirrels...and did it free of charge! Wow, it's almost like he wants our business! Imagine that!

We have a squirrel feeder in a tree in the backyard. We noticed the feed needed replacement more often than usual and one evening we noticed several large rats were feeding on it. We called Long Point pest control and they placed three bait stations in our back yard and came back to check it a few weeks later. The rats had eaten all of the bait, so it was replenished. After a couple months, the rats were gone and the bait was untouched. Problem solved. Of course, it was pointed out that any feeder will attract rats eventually, but we like the squirrels. Long Point also pointed out that rodents can get access to our attic through our whirlybirds. They inspected the attic and suggested installing some screens to prevent this from happening. They did that and placed traps to catch any that had already come in. There were none. They also pointed out some gaps around our garage roof where rats could get in. They sealed those too. Probably a little higher priced than some other companies, but we have been happy with their service, results and professionalism.

It is a great experience. They are very helpful, quiet, patient, answers questions, is very thorough, and they are very honest. They also do a good job about about reminding us about needing service without harassing us.

The inspector showed up on time, however, we are unhappy with what he did. He found some evidence of current external problems and old problems. He gave a very high price for the service (over $1000) more than what was listed on other company's for similar services. In addition, he tried to up sale other services. There is some foundation issues and he tried to sell his foundation repairs (which is a side business) to us and spent as much time discussing the foundation issues as the termite problem. It took a while to get the report correctly billed. Based on this experience, not sure that I would use them for anything else---especially would not deal with the man who came out again.

I have used Long Point a few times now. The first time was for an Opossum that we trapped, they came and removed it for $50 bucks or something. I would have just taken it to the country on my own, but it was a busy week. The second time I used them was after we noticed some small harmless bugs everywhere in my house. We first thought they were fleas, but they didn't jump around like that. I had originally been using ABC, but I got fed up with them. Never seemed to work, and they would not work around my hours, so I was just paying ABC to come spray the outside of my house every month. Longpoint came over on a Saturday, and checked out this bug problem. I work crazy hours on the weekdays, so there is never a chance of me or anyone being home on the weekdays, so it is nice that they are available on weekends. Turns out we had grain weevles. We then attempted to find the source. Turns out they likely came from my dogs food, since we were buying that fancy, untreated, super expensive organic stuff. Well since they don't treat it, these things live inside of it. He sprayed the house, and told us that we should put all the dogs food in the freezer for 48 hours and this problem would go away, and he has been right. Then last weekend, I was out of town hunting, and my GF called letting me know that we had what looked like wood worms all over our floor, and they appeared to be coming from a piece of antique furniture we had. We moved the piece outside when I got home, and then called. The same guy, who came for the opossum removal, the weavles, showed up again. Using the same guy is important to me. Well anyways he came buy, inspected the wood floors and explained that we shouldn't have anything to worry about for our wood floors being contaminated, and that we should bring the piece to their store, where they will put it in the vault and treat it. He charged me nothing to come out and check that out. Anyways, I am now using Longpoint for all my extermination work, and they will be coming quarterly to spray my house.

The ants have since come back. I will need a second treatment.

The representative arrived on time, was professionally dressed, and answered my questions about kinds of sprays, powders, and granules available for controlling bugs. He then treated the house and lawn and pointed out to me a potential trouble spot and how to see if the treatment made a difference there. He gave me requested figures for repeat treatments, suggested a time frame, and gave me a bill which I paid. The treatment had no lingering odor, did not leave a stain on carpet or tile, and was immediately effective.

I was not available but husband said the technician, Devin explained what was going on and how he was going to treat. Since he's been here we have not had anymore problems! Now I can use my porch again!

We were doing some remodeling and the contractor found termites in the wood by the old bathroom. I called and they sent an estimator out the next day and we scheduled the work for 2 days later. The workmen were very efficient and professional. The lead man explained to me what they would be doing before they started. They worked around the construction that was going on and kept me informed as to what they were doing. Both the estimator and the lead man explained about the warranty. Overall I was pleased and fingers crossed that they are gone. The lead man estimated they would be here for about an hour to an hour and a half. It actually took them over two hours but they were very thorough.

This company has been doing business with us for 10 years, they are very reliable.

We were happy with them. They told us exactly what they were going to do and did what they said they would. They were competitively-priced. I’d use their services again needed.

The service could not have been more professional. Devin showed up promptly on time (despite major road construction in my area). He assessed the situation and told me HONESTLY that i had to have the siding replaced before he could do a proper job. A dishonest contractor could have soaked me for hundreds but he was totally upfront and professional. He did do the flea treatment, and added a little "counseling" (i was distressed) free of charge. If you want superior service this is the right company. The siding is being replaced next week and I will have Long Point back out to take care of the rhodents. Excellent experience. 7/20/2012 Update: After I made the repairs suggested by Devin, I scheduled him to come back. He did so and quickly and professionally rat-proofed my house. Price quoted to me was exactly what I was charged. I will use this Pest Control company as long as I live in Houston, they are excellent.

I made a desperate call to Long Point after I was unable to reach my usual pest control provider, Nettles Exterminating. The problem was a massive swarm of bees that appeared to be looking for an opportunity to make a hive in the entryway to my home. I am deathly allergic to bee stings and I have two young sons, so this was an emergency. A very professional representative from Long Point, Devin, arrived at my house within an hour. He explained the problem and took care of it. He even dispatched a bee that had made it into my house. I was greatly relieved and plan to use their services again.

I bought a 30 yr old house and wanted to be proactive in pest control, so I contacted this company and they got me on schedule right away. They explained exactly what they were going to do and what I needed to do to get ready for them. They were very professional and informative. I had a choice of what service level/guarantee I wanted and chose to do the more extensive first treatment with the guarantee. I took everything out of my kitchen and bathroom cupboards. Junior arrived on time and explained the procedure. He was very thorough and explained what he was doing. I asked about their termite contract and he looked at my paperwork from previous owner and explained that the last service was over ten years ago and I agreed to add a termite contract. They got me scheduled right away and the men who came out to do that service were very professional, explaining what they were doing. They arrived promptly, did the work, cleaned up, and were very nice. I am very please with everyone I have dealt with and will be using them for a mainenance service.proactivet
