Lone Star Contracting are very professional, very friendly and timely.

Eric Schlosser and his crew did an excellent job. I initially had about four estimates for this job, but he was able to beat everybody on price and had just the right attitude of someone I want to work with. Not pushy and knows his stuff. It took about three days for them to complete the job. A big holdup was the original builder of the house 30 years ago did not line up the drain in the floor with the tub properly. It was very tight quarters, but Eric was finally able to get the drain plumbed in. He ended up charging a bit more than the estimate, but I can see why when you run into something totally unexpected. Very reasonable though. I will use him again for any more projects and feel confident he could handle just about any remodeling job you've got in mind.

Even though I had exact ideas for our new bathroom remodel design, I had no clue how to proceed. Luckily for me, Lone Star Contracting had just remodeled my daughter's bathroom in her beautiful Woodlands home, and it became a masterpiece showplace, so I asked Lone Star Contracting's owner, Eric, to come take a look at our situation. Eric presented a great beginning quote, all within my budget, mostly for all the original ideas I wanted to put in place. He also made a long list of items I need to consider for style and product selections. As we proceeded, I made some expensive changes, such as higher wood quality, staining instead of painting, additional outlets, diagonal tile placement, more cabinets, more drawers. Understandably, the price grew, and the timeline stretched out, but Eric helped me to contain those costs and keep them within my means! My advice is to ask every time how much extra an upgrade will cost. In our excitement about the changes, I forgot most of the time to ask about cost, and Eric forgot to tell me! Eric supplied all the boring materials like drywall, wires, pipes, doors, paint, insulation, cement, sinks, wood, hardware, recessed lighting, and much more. You know, mandatory important stuff I have no interest in shopping for. I shopped for and purchased most of the fun materials myself, such as coordinated wall tiles, floor tiles and marble countertops. Eric even met me at the design center to approve some of my selections and see if he could purchase anything cheaper with his contractor discount. I spent long wonderful hours on the internet selecting, coordinating, and ordering shower and sink plumbing and lighting fixtures, medicine cabinets, towel and safety bars, door knobs and cabinet pulls. You know, all the interesting stuff that Lone Star would eventually have to deal with! Eric said he did not mind running, literally, all over town to pick up all my design purchases, including the two huge raw marble slabs. And no matter what I purchased or asked Eric to do, his answer, was always "Anything can be done". It is true, he can do anything and in our case, did! Even when he came up against design challenges, he figured out perfect solutions. Such as too wide doors, surprise old termite damage which we are so glad he found, a shifted foundation from recently-installed piers, closet rods which did not fit at first. Everything is now perfect. Eric's crew is a group of very professional and pleasant craftsmen. They show up on time everyday, keep most of their heavy tools outdoors, lay protective sheeting everywhere, and clean up before they leave each day. We did live with dust during some of the sanding - guess it finds its way out no matter how careful you are. Eric paid to have my own housekeeper clean it at the end of the job. I am so glad I upgraded to stained cabinets and drawers! Eric's crew built everything from scratch to match my designs, they did everything with incredible precision right there in our garage, the results are gorgeous, and there are so many! The shower is phenomonal, with a bench and two recessed triple shelves, everything topped with matching marble and all built from the ground up. Eric suggesting upgrading by slanting the tile, what a great idea - it is a cool contrast, but again, I forgot to ask how much. Always ask! The only downsides I can think of were that the time seemed a bit lengthy, and my costs did grow more than I realized. But this may be explained by my forgetting to ask the prices for upgrades and a couple of personal events in the crew's lives. Some delays can always be expected in every job. In fact I am hoping to soon remodel our kitchen, breakfast room and dining room. We will definitely call Eric for our first estimate. I wish he could make those 3 rooms look as beautiful as our bathroom!!!! I look forward every evening to my shower, it is actually difficult to leave the area, it is so beautiful. It has been 2 months, and everything is still perfect.

After the first of the year, my husband and I decided to have our bathrooms remodeled. We contacted several contractors who came in and gave us some very costly estimates. We had almost made our decision, and then we received a flyer in the mail for Lone Star Contracting. My husband called them and set up a meeting with Eric (their foreman). He was very knowledgeable and was very patient with us. He explained processes of how installations of different things would work and how they would stage the projects. We received an estimate that was about $5000 cheaper than the rest!. At first I thought they only estimated one bathroom, but it was both! We signed up with Lone Star and they began work just a couple of days later. Their workers were always on time, and very respectful. They always cleaned up after themselves and were very conscious they were in my home, and not just a job site. They did beautiful work, and they were very fast. I absolutely love my new bathrooms! it was a wonderful experience dealing with Lone Star, and we will definitely be calling them in the future. Thank You Lone Star!
