KEY CARPET SERVICES

Horrible! I spoke to the business owner, Mike, on thursday or friday of the previous week and scheduled service for the next Monday. I had received a coupon in the Money Mailer and wanted to confirm the pricing. Mike told me that my price would actually be cheaper than the coupon since I had less rooms to clean. He told me that he and his business partner, Barry, would come out themselves and do the job and create a package specifically for my house so that I didn't have to pay for cleaning that I didn't need. I explained to him that I didn't want a situation where once they came out to the house the price doubled and tripled from the price on the coupon (as so often does once a company gets their foot in the door at your house). On Monday two men showed up on time but they were not Mike and Barry. They didn't even work for Key Carpet Services. They worked for some company called Omni? They surveyed the carpets and gave me an estimate of upwards of $500. I told them no thank you and I no longer required their services. Robert explained that they couldn't just leave my house without calling their boss to see if they could work out something cheaper. He came back inside from "calling his boss" and told me that it would be around $400. He sounded like a fast talking, used car salesman and kept throwing out industry lingo while telling me that the basic package would not solve my problem. The coupon clearly stated that the $129 package was specifically a Deluxe Deep Scrub designed for heavily soiled carpets and pet problems and guaranteed at least 92% spot removal. He said this would not be good enough and threw out more jargon and pricing and how I was getting a "really good deal". I felt swindled throughout the whole process and called Mike a day or two later to follow up. I asked him why he didn't show up as promised, why he didn't honor the coupon price as promised, and at least call ahead of time to tell me there was a change of plans. He immediately got defensive on the phone, started CURSING at me, told me that he could not be expected to show up and do all of his jobs himself because he was too busy, and told me that if he had someone come to his house and the pricing and service didn't sound right that he would have "run them off". So does he mean that I should have run the men off that he sent to clean my carpets? Doesn't sound very reputable to me?! He handed the phone to Barry and continued to yell about me in the background. Barry started laughing on the phone and explained that Mike was having a bad day and that I just didn't understand Mike's personality. I told him that I didn't know Mike or his personality and didn't appreciate how they spoke to or treated their customers. The conversation went downhill from there. Barry apologized and said he would look over the invoice and contact me the following day. I have not heard from them and don't expect to. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

I went with them because they were $40 less than another carpet cleaning company. They were timely and they were very professional while they were here. I am happy with what they did for me.
