About us
What brings me here is my passion for this game. I started playing or learning about this game in Louisville, Kentucky. I thought I was really good when I picked up my first cue. I walked into a rundown little pool hall called C & L Billiards and had a 15 year old kid teach me a $60 lesson. That’s when my journey began. I am now ranked a 7 in the A.P.A. and figure in a few more years of practice and competition I will reach semi-pro. A couple of months after I moved here to Houston I started working for one of the largest billiard retailers in the nation. Although they were a great company to work for, being head installer and doing 3 to 5 jobs a day wasn’t allowing me to give each table the time and attention that they all require. I knew that if I wanted to set up great playing tables and give the type of customer service I would want on my own table, I would have to go at it on my own.

"Thank you [Member Name Removed] for reaching out to move and refelt your table! If you ever have any questions, don't hesitate to call."
"Thank you so much for the great review! We look forward to servicing your table again."
The 2 men that showed up to do the work were professional and answered all my questions. I was pleased with the work they did and the pool table had no damage to it from the move. My issues are certainly not with them. However, the owner charged me $30 extra from his original quote because of an 'elevator charge' (which is more than a 10% increase from the total quote I originally received) after the work was completed. Base quote is $270 to move the table I had, and there was an extra $10 stair charge that I knew about and discussed with the owner prior to the job. Both of these costs are labeled clearly on his website. Stairs are difficult to move heavy objects, I totally understand the extra charge there.
When I asked the owner about the extra elevator charge once the job was completed, he didn't really do anything except make excuses. He certainly didn't take the extra charge off my bill. Which for all I know, he could have made up. I told him both addresses, mentioning the stairs and the elevator ahead of time when he gave me his quote. That elevator charge is definitely not mentioned anywhere on his website. Nor during our initial discussion or quote did he ever mention the extra charge.
First, it makes absolutely no sense as to why there is a charge for an elevator. Especially a charge more than double a charge for stairs! Second, when you quote a customer something and then decide to change it after the job is done...that is wrong in my book. I told him there was an elevator when I booked the job and I would not have used him had I known ahead of time that I would have been overcharged. Overall, really disappointed with the customer service. There were actually emergency access stairs right next to my condo, so if I wanted to be an awful person I could have made those 2 workers take the stairs instead of the elevator and saved myself $20. Lesson learned, always get everything in writing. I didn't get a quote in writing from the owner nor did they bother to give me a receipt one I paid. I will have to move this pool table again in the next 6-8 months, and I unfortunately have no desire to give this guy any more of my money.
"When a customer calls me I am very thorough with the questions I ask so that I can determine the type of table and all the services required to complete the job. When (removed member name) contacted me she told me it was being moved from upstairs to downstairs, so the quote I gave her only included stairs on one end. My crew contacted me to let me know that it was going upstairs with the use of a service elevator. Although they did not have to carry the pool table upstairs, it was still a long walk from the elevator to the customers residence. My charges are not just based off extra physical work but also the extra time it takes to complete the job. I am a small company with only a few workers that are paid hourly. I pride myself on being very thorough with all my customers when setting up a job, so I would like to convey that if (removed member name) says she did state there was an elevator and I say she did not then it was a simple miscommunication. I also understand that elevator charges are not mentioned on my website because we don't come across them often, but I will take into consideration her concerns as far as adding them. I try to quote all my jobs on a case by case basis and certainly don't make charges up. I am glad she was happy with my workers and hope that she would give us the chance to work for her in the future."
[FYI - I had also tried calling the and quot;Originla Pool Table Guyand quot; and it didn't even sound like a company. The person who answered the phone sounded half asleep and then told me he didn't know anything about prices and his wife would call me right back...I never got a call back]
