Great American Moving & Storage

I found these guys on Angie's List and that was part of the reason that I ended up choosing them in the beginning. However - Do your research on all fronts as we found multiple complaints on other review sites - warning people of their ill services.
They arrived 5 hours late from the time frame in which they gave to begin to load our belongings. I had anticipated 3-4 guys as we had a very large load and some very heavy furniture that had been discussed with the salesman - they arrived with 2 guys to pack, wrap, and haul an entire load of furnishings. They arrived as mentioned late - around 3:30 in the afternoon and stayed at our residence until after 1am until I told them that they would have to come back in the morning to retrieve the rest of the items. They had run out of man power, protective blankets, and room on the truck. I had to track down someone in the main office the following morning to figure out a plan of action and finally movers showed up around 10am. This second team of movers far exceeded the first team in all aspects, quickness, professionalism, etc. I never had communication that was initiated by them - I was always having to track someone down in the office to get any answers or resolve to problems.
After Great American had our belongings we were told and promised a  delivery date that was false. They were not technically late upon delivery to their contract - but what I had agreed to with Bob my sales man was about 1.5 weeks earlier than when we actually received our stuff. Upon delivery the moving team was rushed and very carless in unloading and unpacking our belongings. Many boxes were beyond crushed - a huge slate chalkboard was scratched beyond repair and many items were broken beyond use. They got their moving blankets stuck in our elevator that they yanked out - causing us to have a elevator service call and left all of their trash from unwrapping large furniture behind.
 We are still in the claims process of this move - but want to WARN OTHERS - DO NOT USE GREAT AMERICAN MOVE. The quality of their hired help was poor, their inside customer service was poor, their responsiveness to things that are going wrong is awful and I am truly disappointed with our service.

I started out by searching for moving companies that could come over and give me an in home estimate, I've already had a bad experience in the past when I just got an estimate over the phone and the price doubled by the time the company got there, so this time I decided to take a day off of work and had 4 companies come to my home to give me an estimate. Stan, from Great American came last and he was very pleasant and polite, he was able to give me a price on the spot after he had done a walk through with me. It was a little pricy but he seemed like a very nice and trustworthy guy so I went with my gut feeling and chose to go with them the next day.
The packing crew were amazing and finished packing my whole house in about 4 hours! I received everything in perfect condition and I am very happy I chose to go with them.
