About us
Eric Herrera Tile is an award-winning ceramic tile business in Houston. With a team of 6 skilled professionals, we offer top-notch tile installation services. Our pricing is determined by the job, with no hidden travel charges or service fees. Contact us today for all your tile needs.
Eric and his team were very professional and did a fabulous job. I thought I would have to redo all the grout on the tile floors and replace the bathroom tile in the master bath, but Eric's team made everything look new! A special note...my sister is disabled and on a limited budget. I asked Eric to go to her house and see if a cracked tile could be replaced. He explained that replacing one tile was not possible, but sent his brother over there to "make magic". His brother made up a mixture of ceramic and color, you would never know that the tile was broken, it blends in perfectly! And the charge? FREE...Eric did this as a community service for the disabled. My sister and I are blessed to have met such a great man. Thank you Angie's list
Description of Work: Cleaned, bleached and stained tile floors in kitchen, four bathrooms, entryway and laundry room. Re-grouted backsplash on kitchen counters, master shower and upstairs bathrooms. Repaired corner of foundation outside. All this while working around a team of 6 painters.

Eric Herrera Tile was outstanding. Eric was prompt in his response, came out and gave us an estimate to clean, regrout, & replace broken tiles in both a master bath and guest bath. They replaced the old checker board tile border in the shower area of the master bath with mosiac glass tile, made a shampoo niche, and regrouted and recaulked the shower. The project took 2 days to complete, the service was great and the crew were nice to work with and extremely neat. I was pleased with the price, the timeline, and the people I dealt with.

Eric arrived promptly to give me a quote, which was the second cheapest out of 4 other angieslist rated contractors. I selected Eric for price and enthusiastic recommendations on angieslist. He scheduled work the following week, and was willing to be sensitive to my tenants' needs and desire for privacy. His two workers showed up promptly at the appointed time, were courteous cleaned up meticulously after themselves each day on the two day job. The finished on time, even though the workers decided that an additional tile feature was necessary around the glass block window to insure that there was no leakage into the substrate. I had them buy the tile for the job, which they did, and invoiced me for the actual cost. They also purchased the additional tile for the feature around the glass block window, and the final adjusted bill was only for the actual cost of the additional tile, not for any additional labor or travel, which was really much more than fair. They also took the time to clean up the bath & shower fittings before reinstallation. These guys are the epitome, the table qua table, if you will, of what one would want and expect from an angieslist contractor. They are honest, provide a quote and then go beyond what is necessary to do a first rate job, and don't quibble if it might have cost them a few extra bucks. The quality of the work is very good and I definitely plan to use them again.
Description of Work: The entire three wall surround of a bathtub in one of my rental properties required replacement. All the tile needed to be demo'd and then Hardi backer board applied and new tile and soap dish and towel rack put in.

Eric's guys arrived a few hours late, but worked without breaks for five hours. The kitchen appliances were moved out of the way carefully so that work could begin. The job site was clean and the kitchen was tiled before the end of the first day. The tiles were layed perfectly straight and level. The next day the crew came back out and grouted the entire kitchen in just over 1 1/2 hours. The grout was sealed and the job looks great.
Description of Work: I removed the linoleum from the kitchen floor myself. Eric removed the basboards and installed ceramic tile throughout the kitchen.

They discovered that the toilet flange was in bad shape and replaced it gratis. I'll have them back in a few months to replace the floor and wall tile in the guest bath, and the entryway and kitchen tile and kitchen backslash sometime after that. I have only compliments for all facets of the work, from proposal through completion.
Description of Work: The master bathroom's original 30"X60" one-piece fiberglass bathtub & wall surround was removed. The space was converted into a walk-in shower of the same size using porcelain tile for the floor and walls. The bathroom floor tile was replaced as was the carpeted and adjoining en suite lavatory area. Replacing the tub fixture and drain with a shower fixture and drain were included.

It went exceptionally well. The only hiccup involved the new shower plumbing. The plumbing installation was more complex than either of us had imagined (and thus cost twice as much) but Eric and I worked it out so that his plumber was paid appropriately. The plumber also had to come back because the installation was spraying water in places it shouldn't have been, but that went smoothly too. The tile installation was flawless.
Description of Work: I wanted to renovate a 1980 bathroom by removing a gigantic oval garden tub and installing a walk-in shower in its place. I also needed to tear the carpet out of that bathroom and water closet and replace it with a tiled floor. In addition, I removed carpet from yet another bathroom and had a marble floor installed. Eric Herrera and his guys were so exceptionally good and professional, that I also had them rip out the 1980 backsplash in the kitchen and replace it with travertine. Based on the Angie's List reviews (invaluable) I called Eric Herrera who is obviously a busy guy, but he came to my house to look at the job within a day of our first phone call. He is pleasant, easy going, and struck me as very knowledgeable about his business. He was completely unphased about tearing out my ugly 1980 garden tub and turning the whole large area into a walk in shower. Wow. Eric and his men are exceptional craftspeople, and they did an A+ job on all of the above. They were also very flexible when I had to ask them to shut down the project for 4 days because my painters were working on a tight schedule and simply had to be in the space that Herrera et all were tiling. Nothing was a problem for them, and they are good problem solvers. My bathrooms and kitchen are transformed. Thanks Eric and all of the great guys that worked here. I would hire you and your firm again in a heartbeat.

I am so happy with the workmanship that he and his men did. I definitely would use him again, and I will refer him to anyone who is wanting tile installed.
Description of Work: I was in the process of remodeling my Master Bath. I researched Angie's List and Eric Herrera was one of the contractors I decided to get estimates from. Upon talking with him, I realized that he was easy to work with and had ideas similar to mine. I decided to go with him for all the tile work. That included the floors, shower walls & floor, walls around the spa tub, wall in front of the spa tub, and floor in the toilet area. He, also, removed and reset the toilet. As for the fixtures, he took care of getting me a plumber that he worked with. This made it easier to schedule their work. Once the job was completed, it was perfect.

. Some men were sent out to correct and fix the problem. They did discover several more spots that needed correction and that was done. Unfortunately a couple of days later several more voids appeared and another man was dispatched to check out all the grout lines including the areas next to the area needing attention. He found several more weak spots and removed the grout and all were re-grouted and the floor is now beautiful. In my opinion (not Eric's) I think one batch of grout was not mixed in the right proportions or too much sealer was mixed with the grout in the problem area. I am far from a tile expert and this is merely my opinion because something was causing these voids and they were very obvious. I found all of the workers very professional and easy to work with. Eric is a real gentleman and obviously intends to do every job to the customers satisfaction and the floor is now just right. We intend to do some additional tile renovation in the spring and we will certainly give Eric a shot at the business. If anything is not to your satisfaction, Eric will work to get it done right.
Description of Work: I selected this contractor based on the Angie's List reviews. They came out on time and immeditely went to work. We had previously used advice from the contractor to assist in the tile selection. The job was done within the three day schedule. We supplied the tile and grout to the contractor. When completed it originally looked great but after a couple of days some voids began to appear in some of the grout lines. It took more trips to correct the problem.

The owner did the initial estimate, and then his cousin came out to do the actual job. He was fast and professional, matching the replacement grout very closely to the original --when we later had all the tiles scrubbed, you could not tell a difference. Overall, you could not tell that there had ever been any damaged tiles. I would not hesitate to recommend these guys.

.Both times I've used Eric for tile repair it has been flawless. Professional, prompt, polite service, they always leave things clean and I feel like his pricing is more than fair. I am happy to recommend their services and will use them again should the need arise.
Description of Work: We recently installed an outdoor kitchen with ceramic counter tops. The original contractor did a poor job and we've had several tiles pop off. I decided we would be better off using someone else entirely for repair and found Eric. He and his crew have been WONDERFUL to work with on two separate jobs. They just finished their second repair because a lighting crew accidentally broke a tile while hanging lights in the kitchen. I insisted on using Eric for repair. Again, great job!!!

The job was stress free and the price was fair. The only stressfull part was pulling the trigger on the final color. Funny thing: the color I would up choosing was Augustine's first pick. I really appreciate his patience and help
Description of Work: My kitchen tile was installed by a flooring company in Feb. I had chosen a light grout and the installer said don't seal it. Well, that was a mistake, the grout had never looked even in the first place and it looked worse after it became stained. I decided to get the grout cleaned an sealed so I called Eric of Herrera Tile to do the job. In addition to the kitchen, he quoted the bathroom tile upstairs to be cleaned and sealed. I also had them clean and seal the master shower floor because hard water stains had made it uneven. Augustine, with Herrera tile came to do the job. He cleaned everthing quoted and sealed all but the kitchen. I was comtemplating staining the grout at this point. I was bemoaning the fact I had chosen light grout and that is when he mentioned that they do grout colorant on unsealed grout. ( I had no idea this could be done. ). Since we had only cleaned at the point, I said let's do it. He was very patient with me and helpfull in selecting the grout color. I am not good with this so it was no easy task. I finally picked a color and the next day he came back to do the staining. He uses a product that stains and seals at the same time. He was extremely carefull and diligent when applying the color, missing and messing up nothing. I am extremely picky so for me to find nothing to touch up after final inspection was rare. It was amazing that next to the shoe mold and transistion strip, you could not tell that it was not the original color.I will definitey call Herrera Tile for any and all tile realated jobs.

The overall experience was wonderful and I was extremely impressed with the work that was done. Also I was impressed at how fast they were able to complete it. His crew was very polite and professional also. The minute they got here they immediately put down covering over the hardwood floors all the way to the bathroom so that no dirt was tracked in. I like many others joined Angie's list to reduce the risk of getting a botched job. I can absolutely without a doubt say that for any tile work you need done at a very competitive price go with Eric.
Description of Work: The services performed were to retile a bathroom shower with a border and add a shower niche. Also needed to demo the existing tile and drywall behind it. Eric's estimate came in at the lowest of the three or four I got but when he came out he seemed professional, down to earth, and trustworthy. I typically go for the estimate in the middle as a general rule of thumb but decided to go with Eric.

Had Eric quote originally in Nov 2011, but told him we'd have it done in Feb 2012. We picked out and purchased the tile and grout, his crew picked it up and installed it. Only hiccup was we didn't buy enough grout, but we went back and got more. Did not hold up the work. The crew was efficient, did spot up the rug on the landing area, but even after we said it was going to be replaced later, they cleaned it very well. Overall, very pleased with their work and price.

When I called Eric he came over within 2 days of my call. He gave us an estimate for our master bathroom and the guest bathroom. He included options for shower niches and sealer. We asked if he could try to save some of the existing floor tile so we could repair some tiles downstairs. We got the estimates within a day and he was able to schedule us on a week when I had scheduled vacation. The workers were respectful and kept the carpets and rooms clean, which was not an easy task. My husband told me we needed a tub at the last minute and I freaked out. He was going to be out of town all week so I didn't know how to handle this information. I talked to the plumber that Eric sent and the tile guys the first day and they were very flexible. The plumber got me a tub and got it in with minimal interruption to the tiling process. Eric's guys took away all the old tile, hardy backing, the vanity and the tub. The tiler asked me how high I wanted the shower tile to go. He recommended we go to the ceiling or at least above the shower head. I talked it over with my husband and we decided to go to the ceiling. It looks awesome and it feels like my shower is so much bigger. They took the tile out a little further than the previous tile on the walls around the shower. This is great because that area always got water damage before. I didn't even ask for that. The job took longer than expected because of the tub issue, so different tilers were sent the last two days. They were all very good at what they did and I felt they did an excellent job. We only did the master bath because we needed a bathroom to use during the process. We will be calling Eric back to do the guest bath. By the way, they saved us about 20 tiles to repair downstairs. Other tile bidders said this could not be done. I would recommend Eric's company to anyone I know.

We called Eric to come to our home to estimate replacing tile in our shower because he had great reviews on Angie's List. He was responsive by coming out and provided an estimate that was very reasonable. We called him a few days later to tell him we accept the estimate and would like to schedule an installation day. First he told us he didn't really remember us but he would pull our paper work and call us the next day. That is the last we heard from him. He never called back and we certainly did not want to call him. Why would I want to use someone who was not responsible enough to call us back? Who evidently had enough work that he did not need our job? If you are that busy, great, but at least tell us! We then have the option to wait or move on. But to not call is not only rude but unprofessional. I will NOT be using or even consider using Eric Herrera in the future.

I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that I may have caused you. This is certainly out of the norm for me. I may not be able to fit in a job on a certain day but I try my best to schedule my projects according to the homeowners schedule. This may be a little difficult at times because everyone wants their projects started but the materials are not ready. I personally do my estimates and I do anywhere from 10 to 30 a week all across houston and surrounding areas. I can drive from Houston to Pearland, from Sugar Land to the Woodlands to do estimates and not charge a dime for gas nor my time. I do not get all of the jobs that I do estimates for but I do get most of them. At the same time that I meeting new potential clients I have my crew working on other jobs so it is hard to remember everyone by name. If I do an estimate for you and you contact me days, weeks or months later because this does happen, excuse me for not being able to tell you your estimate from the top of my head. I do a lot of driving and most of the time I will have to look up your estimate and call you back. I feel it would be more unprofessional to discuss pricing if I do not have the paperwork in front of me. I do apologize for not contacting this homeowner not because of this review but because I take pride in my business and was unaware that I missed scheduling a project. I am never too busy when it comes to potential work it just must have slipped my mind, I am a human and do apologize. Best Regards, Eric Herrera

Thank you for posting your member comment. I would like to say that I was unaware that this homeowner could not print his estimate. I scan and email all of my estimates the same and no one has ever mentioned this issue. I drove from Cypress all the way to Dayton, TX. to do a free estimate. It would have been a nice gesture for the homeowner to return the courtesy by calling me and letting me know. I could have resend his estimate by email, faxed it to him and a copy to the insurance or I could have even mailed it. How would I possibly know this if i am not informed. I apologize for the inconvenience but this seems to be an issue of miscommunication not only from my behalf. Best Regards, Eric Herrera

Completely satisfied. Mr. Herrera was busy and it took about two weeks to get the job started and it took almost a week to get it all done. Considering the work to be done, the time it took to get the work done was quite reasonable.
Description of Work: Took out previous tiled, shower to the studs, that had been poorly done. Completely rebuilt the shower giving suggestions as to a more modern look and upgrades. When his crew ran into a plumbing issue they could not handle, they immediately got a plumber who quickly and efficiently took care of the plumbing problem. Mr. Herrera's crews did skillfull work we are very happy with.

The only thing we are happy about them was the way they cleaned the grout. They stained the grout, which made the grout even; the area which had to be cleaned, the cleaning was very expensive and I had to go up to them and redo it in the corners and underneath the bathtub and areas like that. I was very unhappy by the way it was done with 2 small areas, which was cabinets and there were no tiles there. I asked them to lay down some tiles and they didn’t match the tiles, they just put the tiles down, they didn't do it in the way it was meant to be done and it kind of looks ugly. I teach college students and I wouldn't accept work like this from my students. I have done most of the cleaning myself. We put the furniture back to where they belong. What we are very disappointed about them was when we first called the company, the owner of the company, Eric, came and spoke to us, then he sent one of his uncle, Lee but he never got in touch with us to find out whether we were satisfied with the work or not. So, I was kind of disappointed. I wouldn't want them to come and redo the work. I would not use them again in the future.

This home is in the Historic Heights area and this tile was very old and dirty. I am not sure if it was the original tile installed but it was defintately old. The homeowners were not replacing the floors they wanted a repair because they had installed new cabinets and there was now a gap between the tile and cabinets. The male homeowner did not like the estimate that I gave him to tear out the surrounding cabinet tiles and install new whole pieces so he requested them to be pieced in since they were in an area that was less visible. I do not make the decisions in the homes where I work, I just offer suggestions and opinions on how they may or may not work. As far as the grout, after we cleaned it, we had to stain it to give it a more even look because of age, traffic areas, and now new grout from patch work that I definately disagreed with. If a homeowner disagrees with pricing under no circumstance are they obligated to have the work done by me. So if pricing is not an issue before the project and there are no hidden costs then there shouldn't be an issue with it afterwards. I do not receive or have ever received payments before the homeowner is satisfied with the work done in their home. If they think the patch work looks ugly it was by their choice because they didn't like the pricing I gave them to do it properly. Best Regards, Eric Herrera
