Eric Herrera Tile

Eric came to the house and evaluated what we needed to do. He told me exactly how much tile and supplies I needed to purchase. His two man crew came by at the time and date we planned. They removed the shower pan and one row of tile on the shower walls. I didn't want to replace the entire shower wall, so they were very understanding. They worked with the extra tiles I had on hand and they were careful not to break any unnecessary tiles. They installed hardi and tile on the section of the walls that were removed. The shower floor was mudset and tiled. The grout was sealed. Benny, his main tiler, was very meticulous and did an amazing job. I have now had the shower for 7 months now and I still have yet to see any defects in their work.

He was very knowledgeable but I never received a quote.

Eric Herrera was very professional and very prompt. They came out and measured and told me up front what the cost would be and what they would do. The came out on time. Chipped out the original slate tile measured and cut the new slate tile. They had taken the time to even match the grout. they were very professional and cleaned up all materials. The finished job cost exactly as specified and look very professional.

They did an excellent job and can't believe how much nicer that bathroom looks! They were on time and cleaned up after themselves, you would never know they were there. The floor looks so good trying to decide what I want done next. Would highly recommend using Eric and team again

Initial response was very good I found his costs to be higher than some other estimates but because he had such good reviews thought it would be best to use him. I found him to be very pleasant and he was quick return calls and answer questions. Pros: - His crew was fairly courteous and showed up on the days they were supposed to. - Eric was responsive to my requests. Conns: - Sloppy work, this was due in most part to absolute lack of quality control. In my opinion Eric should have shown up each day to make sure his crew was on track and the quality of work was in line with his ?good reputation?. - Jobs took several days longer than initially quoted. Itemized list of sloppy work: - Work had to be redone at end of hallway as spacing between tiles was noticeably uneven. - There was damage to floor tile in one of the bedrooms (not intended for re-tile) from close proximity demolition, this forced me to expand the scope of work and re-tile additional bed rooms. Eric cut me a break on the cost of one of the rooms but recouped some of his cost by nickel and diming me on some other items. - While cutting out some tile old boarders they sliced large gaps into the each doorway, even after I brought it to Eric?s attention, no attempts were made to repair the noticeably large gashes. - Work done on bathrooms was absolute waste of money. Eric cut me a break on that cost on this item as well but at the end of the day the tile was not enhanced (darkened as I asked for) and all the caulk work had to be redone (due to lack of quality control) as the caulk color used did not match the tile. They just used white everywhere and then had to pull it all out again and use caulk to better match the bathroom tile color. To make matters worse second time around there was areas missed around the ceiling. Again had there been quality control review this never would have happened.

I had been in my new house for about 4 years when one evening entire rows of ceramic tiles buckled up with a terrible noise. It looked like an horror movie. I called Eric Herrera and he came on the day and time planned to look over the problem. I first showed him the line of tiles in the kitchen and he suggested we replace them. But then I showed him the same problem in the living room and, as I had expected, he told me the problem was too spread out and that we would have to replace everything. He gave me a quote and the names of wholesale store in which I could buy new tiles and grout at a good price. We set a week for the work to be done and his team arrived perfectly on time to begin removing the old tiles. Throughout the process I got to see the cause of the problem: the builder had not cleaned the slab from paint and other residues before placing the tiles. They also inspected the slab and found only a hairline crack. After a thorough cleaning of the slab and placing an uncoupling membrane, they installed the new tiles. Eric recommened the uncoupling membrane over the hairline crack in the slab but I decided to have it throughout the tiled area to further reduce the risk of having tiles pop-up again as the slab contracts with changes in weather. The tiles were installed in diagonal as I had requested. They started the work at the fireplace, not the most convenient location to start, but this means the tiles are symetrical when one looks at the fireplace. This was an additional touch I had not requested but that they did automatically. Eric came at least once daily to check on the progress and quality of the work. It has been more than a year and I have had no concerns. The tiles are as gorgeous as on the day Eric's team left my house. No crack, no "empty" sound when knocking on the tiles. Update after 2.5 years: everything still looks great, not a single tile has moved, and not a single tile sounds "empty" when knocking. Still extremely happy!

Eric promptly sent us his bid after his appointment to look at the scope of work. His installers showed up at the agreed upon date and time and were very courteous and professional. They got to work right away and kept me updated during the tile install with their progress and any issues they encountered. I was surprised that the work was finished in one day and both bathroom floors and redone showers look better than new!

I cleaned out the pantry (I knew there would be dust) and moved the dining tables. The crew moved the appliances. I wish that I had taped the cabinets (to prevent the inevitable dust). The crew arrived and taped off the kitchen and dining area to prevent as much dust as possible from getting all over the house (there is no way around it - you're going to have to clean up dust). They proceeded to remove the tile and backsplash and haul away the debris (yay!!) by the end of the first day they had laid most of the tile in the kitchen area. Day 2 they competed the dining area, fireplace, back door and backsplash (including replacing damaged Sheetrock). They were attentive to my concern about completing the back door ASAP since I have dogs who have to go outside. Day 3 the crew arrived and completed grouting and moving appliances back in. Be prepared to eat out for a few days (or live off trail mix) but it was so worth it!

Due to water leaking behind the wall in our shower we needed to have the entire shower replaced, at the same time we decided to have the bathroom floor retiled. Eric was always very easy to contact, very professional. His staff arrived on time each day and worked very hard to not only provide a first rate job but to make sure everything was done as I have requested. Could not have asked for a better experience !!!

It looks clean and mildew free. And they cleaned up the mess of the prior botched job. I'm very happy!

Best decision to hire Eric Herrera Tile “a must hire”. The price was the best quote of four estimates. Eric showed up on time for initial estimate, actual installation and final walk through/inspection before paying the bill. His crew is very professional “true craftsman in their trade”, continually cleaning up after themselves and ensuring we were satisfied as the job progressed. We remodeled the master bathroom with Travertine and Mosaic/glass trim that turned out better than we were able to visualize during our selection process. We provided all tile and grout as that was our choice. Eric is a man of his word and delivers exactly what he tells you. Eric and his crew are honest hard working individuals that we will hire again to do additional work and a company we will recommend to our family, friends and neighbors.

I always worry about a small job if people will even show up. Eric gave me an estimate and completed the work within a couple of days. On time, in and out with no hassles. Great job at a fair price. Just needed some repair work. I would use him again in a minute.

It worked out good. It was great and he did an awesome job. He has a quick turnaround. He has an experienced veteran staff and they knew what they were doing. It was very, very easy and they left everything super clean.

Eric Herrera di an excellent job of replacing my leaking shower pan. He was able to match the tile very nicely and did an excellent job replacing the new tile. He returned my call promptly, came to give an estimate very promptly, and completed the job within 2 days. And they left the area very clean and neat. I highly recommend Eric Herrera.

Eric quoted the job in November, and he placed the tile order with the distributor, Crossville Tile. There was some confusion at first since he wanted us to make the order, but Crossville would not allow it. We payed Crossville directly for the tile on November 29, and it took a couple of weeks to receive the special order tile. We also ordered the plumbing fixtures and bars ourselves on the internet. Work began on December 26. They removed the old drywall and installed moisture proof walls. After 4 days they had most of the tile installed, but we needed to order more bullnose trim pieces. After about a week to get the trim tile, the tile work was completed in a couple of days. The installers communicated with us very well on tile options and the placement of the bars during the project. We ordered the counter top and toilet at Lowes, and Eric picked it up for us. The sink was a very tight fit in the old cabinet, but somehow they made it work. They did a beautiful job installing the new faucet for the sink and the new toilet. They removed the mirrors and wallpaper. When they were surprised to find a hole in the wall where there used to be a medicine cabinet, they fixed the wall without us even asking them. The price charged by Eric's plumber seemed a little excessive, but Eric gave a refund on the plumbing work to make it more reasonable. However, the plumber did quality work replacing some corroded pipes and installing the new shower fixtures. In the initial phase of working with Eric, he was not very quick to respond to phone calls. However, as we got deeper into the project, he was very responsive to phone calls and test messages. Eric's guys did excellent work, they wanted to do the job right even if it took more time, and they handled surprise problems well. Eric was very accomodating and flexible with us.

Eric wrote up a quote for the floor tile with an estimate of the square footage of 12-inch tiles required. We placed the order with the distributor, Crossville Tile, and then Eric had to contact them to give approval for his account. We then payed Crossville directly, and they emailed us a copy of the order. Eric said his guys would come the next day on Friday, January 25, but they could not because of another job. That is the only reason that they didn't get an A for punctuality. Actually, the delay gave us some time to get the payment worked out with Crossville Tile. Eric's guys did come the next Monday and completed the tile work that day, and they came back on Tuesday to install the toilet. The tile work was done quickly, and their work looks beautiful.

Eric showed up when promised. Quoted what I thought was a reasonable price for the work need to be completed. He sent his helper the next day, they were quick, professional and did a nice job cleaning up.

He was the original installer 12 years ago. He checked all of the tiles repairing and grouting the loose ones. He met all of my expectations in the repair.

Removing existing tile from a concrete slab with out braking it is a tricky job, Eric's guys did an excellent job, and found sufficient tile to complete the job. They were on time, very responsive to the tight schedule I had on the project. I am very pleased with the result and can highly recommend them.

two weeks--a little longer than estimated, but ok.

I am an interior designer and had a master bath makeover promised in time for the holidays although my usual tile guy was unavailable. So I found Eric Herrera on Angie's list and contacted him so he could take a look at what the project entailed; he arrived right on time and was very likable. He assured me that he would "stand-by", ready to start just as soon as we were ready for him to begin. It was a rather involved project, as there were many design details (borders, etc.) and all of the tile was to be laid on a diagonal. His guys were very precise, making sure that everything went together just perfectly-the first time! Each of the guys that worked on the project was courteous, knowledgeable and they communicated among themselves to manage the details properly. Additionally, THEY WERE THE CLEANEST TILE-SETTERS I HAVE EVER USED! Almost no grout mess was left behind. Eric Herrera helped me create an absolutely beautiful project for my client, and made sure everything got done on time and all for a reasonable, agreed-upon price. As a professional designer, used to working with "these guys", I am totally impressed with Eric Herrera Tile! I will definitely ask for his help with future projects!
