Eric Herrera Tile

Eric's crew did a great job. They replaced caulk, repaired grout, and cleaned tiles in three bathrooms in one day. The tile looks like new!

Multiple sixteen inch tiles had to be removed and replaced (we had extras from original installation) and grout replaced where it had cracked. When tile/grout repair was finished, all tiles were cleaned and grout lines dyed dark grey so it all matched. When finished it actually looked better than when it was first done thirteen year ago. I would recommend Eric to friends and family.

He was only providing the labor as I was to provide the tiles. It was very difficult to connect with him to arrange an appt time to review the project. I found his initial bid to be around what I was hoping to pay and we set up an appt for the repairs to be done. That is the last I ever heard from him. He never showed; never showed, never called, never emailed. I would not even consider calling him again.

First let me say Eric Herrera is very professional and was one of the first companies to respond to my inquiries about outdoor slate installation for my patio. However, I did not use him as I felt he was way over priced. Other companies quoted less that half of what Mr Herrera was asking. That's really a shame as I would have liked to have hired his company for the job but had to give my buisness to someone eles.

He never responded to my email after I sent out his contact info. I would've appreciated a response at least even if he didn't service my area.

I contacted Mr. Herrera recently to perform two small jobs for me. I have been remodeling my older home and needed floor tiles installed in my laundry utility room and a tile backsplash installed on my wet bar. Mr. Herrera met me the same day that I called, provided me with an estimate the same day. Within a day, Mr Herrera had a crew out and performed both jobs within 4 hours . Both were beautifully and professionally done. I plan on using Herrera Tile on my patio tiling job in the near future.

He was superb. He stained the tiles to make them look new. He did beyond expectations, everything looked like they were just installed. We didn't even know that work could be done, or else we would have done it sooner. It was a good price for what he did.

Eric accomodated us on scheduling weekend working, his crew were alway courteous and professional on requests, can trust them on the job. I had to change out the fan at last minute that affected their schedule, they didn't have complain and was putting the project on priority - get it done the right way.

They never responded after several calls, I was willing to give them my business for a bathroom remodel job.

The work was done well. Everybody who comes into the kitchen gives it compliments. The price was reasonable. I might use them in the future.

Eric seemed like a nice guy. He came out to provide an estimate for all the tile work we wanted to get done. After doing a bit of research, we noticed that his prices was more expensive than most other places that we looked, but since he came recommended, we asked if he can provide an extra 10% off of the $5,963.50 quote he provided, which included labor only (no materials). When he declined to provide the extra 10% off (he agreed to an extra 5% off), we ended up going with another flooring specialist. All the work we wanted done took the other flooring specialist about 1 week to do (2 man job). Plus, it cost less than Eric's quote, and it included labor, material, and all new trimmings/mold.

Very professional and reasonable price.

Eric was very prompt in responding to my request for a proposal. Based on his competitive quote and the positive reviews on Angie's List, I hired Eric to do the work. He was able to start very soon thereafter. Although small, this job was critically important to us as we were preparing our home for sale. A crew of three men worked most of an entire day to complete this work. While they arrived a bit later than I had expected, they worked diligently through the day to complete the work. Particularly impressive was the effort to clean our slate kitchen floor. The grout had become discolored in various placed and was unsightly. The cleaning process required a man on all fours scrubbing about a 100 square foot area for a couple of hours. We are pleased with the result. After the work was completed, a few holes began to appear in the caulking due to the large size of the gaps that had been filled. I was not surprised that this had happened. When I informed Eric that these holes had appeared, he came promptly himself (along with one of his workers) and successfully filled the holes. The result of the entire job was very good and we are pleased with the end product. If required, I would readily use Eric again.

Overall, I rate them a B because the job done was a mix of a good and not-so-good. I don't think they were thorough enough in helping me to fully assess the problem so it could be fully repaired, but the job done in installing the tile repairs, their timeliness and price were very good. I had a leak in my shower pan. Eric came promptly to give me a quote and offered to send a crew to start the work within a week. We said we were in a hurry and he even managed to start the work earlier by several days. I asked if the quote was for the job or for the specific work scope he estimated; he said it was for the job. (i.e., get the job done for a flat price) The first day the crew tore out the bench in the shower, the floor and the lowest row of wall tiles, and started on redoing the floor. After they left I noticed that the walls were wet and moldy, and I realized that more had to be torn out in order to remove all the mold and wet insulation and gypsum board, and to help dry out the wall. There was also a structural problem with one of the walls. I did the additional tear out and structural repairs to the wall myself, and told Eric to delay sending his tiling crew until after the weekend to give it time to dry out. I scrubbed and killed the mold and painted the wood to seal it, and treated it for bugs. I would expect an A-rated contractor to alert me during the tear out to the mold and wetness problem, and the structural problem which had nothing to do with the shower pan but was revealed after tearing out the tile. I feel like if I wasn't able to identify the problem, and if I didn't intervene to correct it, they might have tiled over the problem - but I don't know that because I did intervene before the tilers came. At least the crew leader doing the tear out never suggested any need for more work to completely fix the water damage. Once all the wall damage was fixed by me, the tiling crew came and did a very good job, an A-rated job, re-installing the pan, bench and wall tiles. All tiles were travertine. They did not re-install the shower glass walls and door, but did do a good job with the space out so that I could reinstall them easily. They tried to add an extra $300 for the additional work (I provided the tiles) to repair a larger tear out, but after reminding him of his fixed price offer and my displeasure with his crew not fully appraising the damage that needed to be repaired, he agreed to the original price. For that I am pleased with him. Overall they did a good job and I think he was fair with the price. They were friendly and courteous, and on-time. I would use him again. I still believe that the water damage wouldn't have been fixed if I didn't intervene to do it myself. I would rather have the contractor say, "Look, the problem is much worse than expected and we need to (or you need to) do additional demolition and repair to fully fix the problem." I think most, by far most, contractors would do a worse job, but I think this could have gone a little better if the tear out crew did a better assessment of the water damage and repairs needed beyond just tiling.

I called Eric to get an estimate. He arrived on time and made a few recommendations to make the job easier, namely scheduling another contractor to install som lighting before he came in to our home. The estimate was fast and fair in price. I purchesed the tile and grout. Eric's guts arrived right on time and prepped my kitchen for the work. They were professional, courteous and actually pretty fast. They covered care and maintenance and recommended a sealant. They cleaned everything after the job was finished. I was very pleased with the timing, price and quality of work and will not hesitate to use Eric Herrera Tile in the future. They did an exceptional job.

We had some scheduling delays and delays with the employee showing up to do the work, but all in all, Eric communicated well. The tile and grout were scrubbed by hand and the final product looked great!

Eric and his crew were courteous and professional. They were not only on time, but were 30 minutes early. They were extremely friendly and worked as a flawless team measuring, cutting and laying the tile. They removed two old toilets, installed the new ones and hauled the old ones off. We couldn't believe that they were able to finish all of our tile work in just one day. If we had anything in our house left to tile, we'd hire them again in a heartbeat.

I just joined Angie's list. I was so impressed with Eric and his team I was compelled to write this review even 2 years later. Yes the floor looks as good today as the day he finished. 1. Eric listened to our needs and suggestions. Not only did he guide us to better solutions but the effect he created was amazing. 2. Eric guided us the best deals and where to buy the tile 3. Eric made every effort to ensure he kept the house as clean as possible even in demolition. 4. The price was the price and there was no discussion. From start to finish they team from Herrera tile were extremely professional. They put up plastic to prevent the tile dust from getting into my second story, they were incredibly tidy throughout the installation which was completed on time. I have recommended them to everyone I know.

Contacted company, owner came out next day, job completed the following day. Tiled two bathrooms. Finished in one day. Very polite. Excellent cleanup.

I think it was December 24. It was like shower restoration for about $350. Overall, I had a great experience and no complaints. They did a good job and left everything clean.

Eric came to the house to review the work, he sent us an estimate, we told him to go ahead with the work and we agreed on a schedule. They arrived ontime and worked efficiently. One of the materials was not available, and Eric suggested an alternate supplier that we accepted. Eric exceeded our expectations.
