After much frustration with a brand new clothes dryer, we determined that the dryer exhaust vent was plugged. The house is 40 years old and we have only lived here for 6 years. We have never cleaned the vent (shame on us) and after DVC's visit, it's apparent that the original owners may never have done it either.
The dryer is in the middle of the house and the exhaust stack runs up to the roof (single story house but tall roof).
Jerome arrived to do the cleaning and he was such a professional. He had a whole process that he performed and he removed a shocking amount of lint - maybe (3) 5 gallon buckets? Maybe even more. We were shocked and dumbfounded.
Let's just say that exhaust stack was pretty close to fully plugged. I don't know how we were able to ever dry clothes and more importantly - don't know how we avoided a fire.
Jerome and DVC were so professional, competent and competitive on price. We will absolutely continue to use their services.

Folks - take a lesson - clean those dryer vents every couple of years without fail.

The vent was never cleaned so a great deal of lint was removed. DVC's representative did and excellent job. He explained the process and showed us how to tell when the vent needed to be cleaned again.

I have a dryer vent that goes down through slab to an outside wall. It inevitably gets clogged with lint and moisture periodically about every 12 - 18 months. I tried to do myself but couldn't get all the way through with my equipment and lack of time. DVC did the job and did not leave a mess. I plan to do a clean out with them once a year to prevent clogging before it happens.

They did a great job. My dryer vent runs underneath my slab for a very long run. They made sure the vent was completely cleaned out and that the air flow was good. They also clean the lint from insider the dryer. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others.

The DVC service team arrived on time, was courteous and professional, and cleaned the dryer vent effectively. They cleaned up nicely and tested the dryer to make sure everything was working properly. I would certainly use DVC again and recommend their service to anyone.

Our new purchased townhome has a very long dryer vent pipe, over the garage. It was totally clogged.
Sam is a very nice fellow, he came on time and run the cleaning pretty professionally.
Meanwhile, he gave us a few suggestions, regarding the vent, washer and dryer.
The service price seemed a little bit expensive, compared to other vent cleaning offers, but really worth it.

Quickly able to make an appointmet and told service rep would ball 30-45 minutes before coming. That's exactly what happened and right on time. The service rep, Sam, was professional and courteous, explaining what he did. He was careful to not track dirt on carpets as well. And best part - dryer works perfectly again! I would use them again and definitely recommend.

Repair visit was no problem. We have an extremely long dryer vent run - laundry room is in middle of house. Charge was more than I had expected because I had read reviews and they had given the cost as less. Said he charged separate for cleaning of booster fan/motor.
Never the less, needed to be done. Vent had not been cleaned and the booster was noisy because it was dirty. Fan is much quieter now and seems to be fine.

My experience with 'DVC Service' was excellent and I have recommended and sent them to many people. To have a damaged exhaust running in the middle of the wall between the house and garage, and going right up to the roof is one of the biggest fire hazards to have in a home. My husband specially came after a two hours drive for this work. So, I contacted the gentleman, who came to the house despite his illness and did a great job in my presence. They just took care of everything that needed to be done.

I would use him again and I plan to refer him to others. I didn't realize how important it was to get this service every year until he educated me.

DVC was very prompt with scheduling a technician, Donald, to come to the house and perform the services. Our house has a customized dryer vent section of about 10-12 feet located along the baseboards of the garage until it eventually exits the house. Not standard for sure.
Donald initially came out on a Thursday and cleaned the line replaced the section of plastic vent that was visible near where the section exits the house. When I called DVC back and asked them to come out and replace the other section of plastic vent that I knew to still be in place, they were equally as prompt in scheduling Donald to return and replace the rest of the line.
I was very satisfied with the work.
And, as you can expect, our dryer's performance has greatly improved with a clear vent line.

From start to finish, setting up the appointment was a breeze, they worked around my schedule, showed up on time, performed the task very thoroughly and professionally, cleaned up after the work was done and were on their way. Everything about the service they provided was top notch. I wish every home repair / improvement contractor did business they way these guys do! I *can* perform this task myself, but my wife is scared to death of me getting on a ladder, so these guys do the job the way I would, and I couldn't be happier, will be sure to use them again and again!

Donald was on time, honest, and did a great job. My dryer was not drying properly and I thought I needed rto have my venting direction changed. After a thorough inspection it was determined the vent needed cleaning and a new cap provided. It is wonderful to know that there a still honest businesses alive and working.

The job went well. DVC was at my home for roughly an hour and my drying times have reduced significantly. Before they cleaned my dryer vent, it was taking me 2 to 3 hours to dry a load of clothes. Towels and jeans are now drying in about 30 minutes. The tech informed me that dryer vent cleaning is recommended on an annual basis and I will definitely be using DVC from this day going forward and will gladly refer them.

Best money I ever spent! Was unaware that dryers could adequately vent when located on an interior wall, because they are vented through a galvanized pipe system installed within the walls to the exterior. However, this vent MUST be cleaned yearly. Not knowing this, my dryer did not dry adequately, so I had been taking my linens to the laundromat for a few YEARS, until we were in a position to remodel and vent the dryer out an exterior wall--DUH!!! (We did not build the house. I thought dryers had to be located adjacent to an exterior wall) All these YEARS, it has taken an inordinate amount of time to dry a load of clothes. I was one step away from installing a clothes line. The gentleman (Mike) I spoke with at the company I finally called to discuss my remodeling project (Also located on Angie's List--Home Remedy) and quot;talked me off the ledgeand quot; and explained the and quot;new fangledand quot; way dryers are vented--DUH!!--and recommended DVC.

I called DVC. They agreed to come the NEXT day--Saturday morning, unless it was raining (no problem with me). It was pouring rain. Donald Hardesty came anyway. (Professional, knowledgeable, friendly, warm, polite, courteous, competent). Absolutely on time. Needless to say our pipes were completely clogged, but I don't think it took him more than an hour to vacuum them completely and correctly re-installed my dryer to the vent. Did not try to sell me new pipes, etc. Was confident ours will last. Put our name into an e-mail notification system to remind us in a year to have the system cleaned again.

The dryer vent now opens completely when in operation and in the right weather one can see clouds of steam floating down from that second-story vent. I have been washing and DRYING clothes, towels, bedspreads, comforters, drapes, you name it for a couple of days now. I am so delighted to have made this discovery and know that I will not have to spend a few thousand dollars on remodeling just to get my clothes dry, or will I EVER have to haul my laundry to that washateria again. I life changing experience for me!

Donald came to home on time (actually called and came earlier); went straight to dryer and attic, double checked and ran a pressure test in venting and was very reasonable. Will use him once a year forever.
