It went great by getting me back up running quickly and off my Stand by Generator. Also, CenterPoint was great in getting me reconnected. I was only out of power to house from Monday night about Midnight to Noon Wednesday. I recommend them for any Electrical services, They always been great it doing trouble shooting and repairs. They have taken out my inside and outside electrical panels and replaced the outside weather head in the past due to that the old panels were Federal Pacific and they are not supported and can be a fire hazard. I know because the inside panel burnt a lug and could burnt my house down. So if you have Federal Pacific, I recommend you replace them. Divin Electrical services is reason on prices. They found that the main underground electrical line running to the house was faulty and had to be replaced. We paid for an hour of service and arranged for them to come back and complete the work and to replace the old electrical panel.

We had a patio cover installed, and the fan didn't work after install. We purchased a one-hour service call at a special rate through Angie's List, which we initially intended to use for troubleshooting the issue so we could coordinate a resolution with the contractors. However, we liked the electrician (Kelly) so I had him not only trouble shoot on the pesky fan, but also ground an outside outlet, install an extra switch for existing outdoor lights, and straighten out some poor wiring related to the existing switches. We were very happy with the work. After resolving things with our contractor, a few weeks later we had the electrician (Kelly) come out and run new electrical for the fan, which we are happy to say works! We are pleased and definitely would use Divin again.

On the first day the service was scheduled the electrician arrived 2 hours late due. He clearly did not want to do the job. He went up in the attic and when he came down stairs he zipped up the insulation and shut the closed up the attic. He then stared walking around my den and talking about puching holes in the celing and walls until he could locate the area to place the lights and wires. His next question was do you have someone to do the drywall and ceiling repair, you are going to need repair work? After I started questioning him he started telling me about the decking in the attic and asking me if I knew what decking was? I told him just to forget the job. He went outside to make a call and came back in and said his boss told him another way to do the job but he didn't have the proper tools. He also told me his boss was mad at him, would I promise to reschedule? I told him I would. This day cost me one vacation day. Day of reschedule. I was told I was first at 9:00 AM. No one arrived. I called at 9:20 and was told they would check on it and call me right back. Approximately 20 minutes later I was told there was an emergency and I was next. Around 10:00 I called again. This time I was told it was going to take 2 techs and they weren't finished yet. I cancelled. After cancelling I received a call there was one tech free who could come. Why send one person on a two person job? I was also told it was the original electrican who didn't want to do the job in the first place and it would take him longer, they could send help if he needed it. I told them to just forget it. Second vacation day lost. I Received an email apology that was written very well, apologtic and offered me 10% off. This angered me even more. I guess my going rate of pay for not one but two day of vacation is $75. I declined the offer not having any more vacation days to waste. If you choose to do business here, plan on blowing a whole day, and possibly then not having the work done.

It took them and hour and a half, 2 hours maybe, to get the job done. The guy that they sent was very charming. he did a good job. He is very respectful. He called me Ma'am. One thing that is a little surprising, the light fixture that he had to put was on a very high ceiling and and it was in a bedroom underneath the bed, instead of moving the bed he set the ladder up on top of the mattress. And I think that was very safe because the mattress has a firm surface for the ladder. And he covered the bed with a cardboard so the ladder wouldn't touch the bed or anything. I was shocked to come in and see him bouncing on a ladder on top of a mattress. I would hire him again. They've done a good job as far as their work is concerned.

I was somewhat disappointed in what they were able to do as I had several electrical problems that needed to be addressed but they could only fix the one outlet that was shorted out. The other areas - a broken outdoor fixture and changing out a ceiling fan were not what they would do. I also asked about options to put in additional outdoor lights and changing the switch configuration but the technician didn't seem interested in making suggestions there either. Although he did fix the outlet, he did it without turning off power to the outlet which seemed very unsafe to me. Overall, I paid a lot of money for a 15 minute job. Not the value I was hoping for.

Several outlets in the house were nonfunctional. The electrician eventually found that a previous owner's renovators had miswired the power to them so that the power routed through a light switch that was rarely in use. (That is, the light switch had to be on in order for the outlets to have power.) He fixed the wiring so that the outlets always had power. This involved some nice troubleshooting work and eventually an easy fix.

I had the electrical company come out and they weren't very good. They didn't do a very good job. They estimate it the cost of fixing it is $800 almost $900. I had another electrician come out and it was like $200 and he fixed it. So, they tried to charge me for coming out just to do an estimate and I called the guy back and said I'm not paying it because he said free and he said fine. I thought the guy was totally confused. He came up and didn't know what to do to figure out what the problem was. He was really confused that's why I didn't use him. The price is horrible. There's a lot difference in price. They're very responsive.

"Gave me the Run Around" In mid June of 2014 I had Divin Electric stop by for a project. They failed to show up the first day, but came out the next. (I had had to take off work on both occasions to meet them at the job site.) Michael Divin said he'd have the estimate ready for me by Monday morning. That entire week past. I e-mailed and he said he was working on the estimate. Then another week passed. I had e-mailed him with more information hoping to prompt him. He merely replied "Thank you." Then an entire month passed and I contacted him on 7/23. The short of it is today is 9/5/14 and after several texts, e-mails and phone calls, over the next month or so, and more calls this week, with promises he'd call me back later that day, only to hear nothing. This morning was the last straw. They called, apologized for not returning my call yesterday (again) and said he was working on the estimate and would have it to me by noon today. ("working on it?" In early conversations he was acting like he thought he had already sent it!). Well, needless to say, nothing came by noon today, not even at 4:30 (and this time they didn't even answer when I tried calling). So I left a message that I was no longer in doing business with his company. I have had the run around for too long (I don't know why I let it go on this long). I am disgusted with this level of treatment. They are either too busy to take on more jobs or not interested in my business. Either way, I have no faith in the company any longer and would doubt they would show up to do the job even if contracted. Don't let their smooth website fool you. Save yourself the headache and stay away from this company.
Description of Work: This contractor ended up doing nothing. They never provided the quote they promised, over and over again, for three full months. At first it was sorry for the delay, then "I thought we sent it", then "he's working on it" but it never came.

They were great. He went above and beyond and explained codes to me about my entertainment unit and gave me some recommendations for spotlights on art. He got the job done in about one hour. The scheduling was great. They also told me if I need anything else they would come back free of charge.

They were excellent. I purchased one of the deals and they promptly contacted me to set up a service call, came on time and worked quickly and efficiently. They kept a nice clean work area and removed ALL of the trash when they left. They were great and I would absolutely use them again.

In the end, after spending $195 I was left with an ungrounded system (which I believed to be grounded), an incorrect diagnosis (the box remained energized even with the oven disconnected), and a recommendation that resulted in further damage to my appliance (control board fried when the appliance tech tried to test it). After notifying Divin that I was no longer interested in their estimate for additional work, I was contacted by the owner on 7/11 wanting to come back out and "make it right." He said that he would contact me first thing the following week to set up an appointment. After not hearing from them, I sent an e-mail on 7/18. I received a call back stating that they would get me scheduled first thing the following week. Another week goes by with no contact. I called on 7/24 and the owner said that they would put me on the schedule for 9:00 AM the next morning. At 11 AM, I called and was told that I was on the schedule whenever someone freed up, but did not have a fixed appt. Called back later that afternoon and was told that no one freed up, but they would definitely get to me on Monday. After not hearing from them on Monday, called around 2PM. Was told that they still didn't have anyone available, but I would definitely get someone on Tuesday. Definitely, guaranteed. Tuesday goes by. No call from Divin at all. Wednesday morning I call another electrician (Mister Sparky) and they send someone out by 2 PM. In one hour, they were able to give me a full evaluation of the needed repairs with an estimate - something promised and never delivered by Divin after 3 weeks. They are coming back tomorrow to perform the repairs. I didn't hear from Divin at all on Wednesday until I called them in the afternoon to inform them that another provider performed was able to get someone to my house. Ultimately, Divin electric failed me in every way possible. The work was not satisfactory and the evaluation had to be reperformed by another electrician. I was exceedingly patient and was strung along for almost 3 weeks after the owner called me to say that they wanted to come back out. They were never rude and did apologize for not making it out, but at the end of the day I'm out $195 for nothing.
Description of Work: Called because of an electrified sub-panel box. Electrician spent 2 hours reviewing the system and noted that the box was not properly grounded and that there was a short in the oven. He told me that he would temporarily ground it with a jumper (which he did not do). I was told to have an appliance technician evaluate the oven and they would get back to me with an estimate to properly repair the system.

First off I'd like to say that I am the type of person that will generally give most people second chances and even though Divin Electrical did have a couple of minor issues they did right what I would consider wrongs. Now with that said let me go into further detail because coming from somebody who works in a customer service field I understand what it means to deal with customers. First my biggest pet peeve is not showing up on time, if you give me a window then I expect somebody to be there during that window but when you give me an exact time I expect somebody to show up at that time or earlier. So the first impression was the technician was already 15-20 minutes late, keep in mind that is a pet peeve of mine. He came in and gave a good quote so I decided to get the job done, informs me he will need to get parts from a local hardware store and should be back in about 30-45 minutes, 1 1/2 hours later he returns, again I understand complications may have occurred beyond his control at the store, but again (pet peeve) if you give me a time then I expect punctuality or at the very least give yourself enough window to cover for potential "oops". The technician returns and starts the installation, informs me that it should be about a 2-4 hour job. 1 hour goes by, 2 hours goes by, 3 hours go by...haven't heard a word from him, checked up with the tech and find out that it really should be a 2 man job and if he can get somebody to help him it'll be 2-4 hours to complete, um what? 3 hours have gone by and what has actually been done? I don't know I'm not an electrician. I call Divin Electrical and talk to the secretary who after we go back and forth about time and punctuality and promises and etc etc. We basically agree to disagree, now here is where I will take some blame as well because in the field of customer service there can always be miscommunication, I had bought a coupon for 1 hour service call (why not? it reduce the cost of a 1 hour service call by X dollars) I mentioned there would be need for a second project but due to length of message on Angie's list not much could have been put in. I should have called and followed up but I think I was partially expecting a call from them to ask. Instead the miscommunication breakdown occurred and they thought I had bought a check up coupon that said they were going to just check my wiring for potential issues. Again mistakes on both sides, lesson learn and I'll take responsibility for some of it. End of the day came around and nothing was really done or completed or really started since the cable was sitting in my attach and holes were cut in my walls for the outlet boxes but no actual cables ran. I was assured the technician would return the following day with help this time and they would get it done. The next morning shows and the technician did show with an extra body this time and they again quoted me 2-4 hours, which they did complete the task asked in 3 hours. With everything said and done for me the job was completed professionally, promises were made were not kept but were righted, and apologies were given. Through it all I would still consider using Divin Electrical again in the future but this time I think I would talk to somebody and make sure that everything was communicated more clearly.

That being said, upon reading your initial message after your purchase for the service call, (stating that you wanted us to test some items to see if they could handle the load being demanded of them,) as well as a second service call, we were assuming that the project would be able to be completed by one electrician, as is often the case. In order to take care of multiple customers, we sent only one man, so that the other could attempt to complete another project. Unfortunately after it was determined that a second man would make the project go much more smoothly, we had no one else available. We do understand that the message was limited and will remember to gather more information from our customers in the future so that we may be better prepared. Marty showed up on time and after investigating all of the cans that weren't working, figured out that 2 needed replacing, and that 2 just needed minor adjustments. He had to leave to get parts, but within an hour he returned and was able to replace both cans quickly. Marty was very professional and honest, and cleaned up his work areas before he left. Great job! I will definitely call Divin in the future.
Description of Work: We had 4 can lights - 2 inside, 2 outside - that we couldn't get to work. Marty came out, investigated, and fixed the problem.

It was not my favorite end result out of it. For the one where they had to put the exterior breaker, instead of putting a breaker they put a plug so actually the septic company put the breaker box in that I needed. For the side where they put a 20 year breaker, for the cut of switch to the outside, they put it upside down so that when you turned the breaker off, you were actually turning it on. We got lucky that we didn't get shocked on that because we were working with a live circuit. The circuit crew was actually able to correct those errors, I mean they weren't major errors but we were paying somebody over that. Then on the side I had asked them to do some additional work not related to that project and they run out of time the first day and never returned. I basically never called them back to push the subject, I never confronted them about any of the issues because we fixed the problems when we found them. They didn't deliver what they promised. They showed up on time, they were here when they said they would be and I didn't have any problems with that.
Description of Work: Divin Electrical did my electrical. They had to put in some electrical drops to support the septic system so they had to put in a 20 year breaker for one location and set an exterior cut off switch at the second location.

I was very impressed with my first communications with Michael, the owner and with all the communication that followed. Also, the technician who did the work, Kelly, was great. Some mistakes were made, but Michael was quick to say they would take care of it, and Kelly returned and made it all work correctly. I never felt talked down to or pushed to do something I didn't want to do. This is an older home, and the previous owners were DIY'ers, so it was a surprise and challenge to Divin to see what had been done previously, then to come up with a proper and legal way to fix it. I had a light over my sink that would go on and off at its whim. Kelly and I discussed cutting the cabinet and replacing it, but Michael suggested a slight improvement to the light itself which Kelly did. It has worked beautifully since. Once Kelly removed the old light box in the ceiling, to our surprise, he found another older light fixture that had just been covered up by the previous owners when they put in the newer light. That involved more cutting and wiring and sheetrock cutting which Kelly did well. Then, Michael gave me the name of a great sheetrock/painter person who came out the next day and did a great job on my kitchen. When we realized that the light had to be moved a bit, the painter returned right away to fix that - Kelly came right back and installed the fan/light. My kitchen looks great and is a few degrees cooler already - all thanks to Divin Electric. And with all of the changes, Michael was VERY fair in his charges. I will use them for any of my electrical needs and have already been recommending them to anyone who mentions needing an electrician. SUPER JOB!!!

So this is a redo to a June 5, 2014 posting I made - Divin Electrical Services has restored my faith in service providers. After not showing up on day one, the electrician and helpers did show up the following day - The lead electrician apologized for the inconvenience of not showing up the day before letting me know that he personally had a personal issue that needed to be take care of - He did say that Divin Electrical built their reputation on service and he wanted to show me that their company was reliable and true to their word - Being a person that likes to give the benefit of a doubt, I reluctantly, after talking with the owner Michael, agreed to use them for this job. I can tell you that after a bit of a rocky beginning (not showing up the first day) I would highly recommend this company and tell you that they are honest and true to their word. My job was completed ahead of schedule, all the mess was cleaned up and an extra apology was provided after the work was completed. The work they said would be completed was completed with a little extra for my troubles (delay in starting my job). Thank you Divin Electric for restoring my faith in service providers. So if you rad a little further and find a "D" rating for service that was not performed disregard that posting - This is my experience after the work was completed

The "Big Deal" went very well. It was $125 and I ended up paying the same amount. The gentleman who did it knew exactly what to look for.
Description of Work: I had some plugs in certain upstairs rooms that were not active. There was a wire in one of the connections behind the wall that wasn't solid and had to be reconnected.
