Chavez Painting

Contacted Jose Chavez for an estimate on painting the interior of our house. Jose was free to come that afternoon and showed up on time taking notes as I walked him through the house discussing what we would like painted. Jose emailed a quote. Jose was able to start a few days after the quote was accepted. Jose and his crew showed up at the stated time and quickly went into action, putting down paper throughout the house, taping off the trim, and moving furniture. The crew took care in furniture moved, ensuring it was not damaged and making sure everything was protected from splatter. Jose was accommodating obtaining different paint colors when we decided some of the trim needed repainted as well. Each day Jose would tell me what time they would show up the next day. Overall they did a great job, quickly, and very well done. I would recommend Chavez painting and will use again.

Their quote was the same as another quote, but I was not happy with the other person's work and tried Jose Chavez because of the good reports on Angie's List. They were professional, came went they said they would. answered message left on voice mail quickly. I asked them to not work over weekend as I was out of town and they had no problem even though it was a last minute request.

I had found them on Angie's List and read some of the feedback from other customers. I contacted them and the rep came to look at the job. He estimated the work at $100.00 which we found to be very reasonable. Two of them reported for the task on time. They professionally removed the old storm door and the the worn door frame. Then, they went to buy some lumber and paint (included in their estimates). They returned and instalkled the new wooden door frame. Then, they painted it and re-installed the door. The only issue we had was there was some rain the next day and water was entering inside the house from around the new frame of the storm door. Upon investigation, it turned out that the workers had not caulked (or "sealed" around the new door frame), hence the rain was entering. I called the cellular on their business card and got a voice mail. After leaving a lengthy message, no one returned my call. I did not see anyone come back to caulk (or "seal") the wooden frame. This was the only thing that prevented from giving these folks a perfect mark.

The guys did a great job, however, they insisted on taking our paint sample from Farrow and Ball to Sherwin Williams. The Sherwin Williams color for the cabinets was not like the sample, but other than that, the job performed, clean-up, etc was great.

He clearly knew what he was doing. The paint went quickly and smoothly. He brought fake doors to put on our house while the front and back ones were out - that was a nice touch. Honestly, his work looks great. If I have any complaints, I can't think of what they are. I felt safe with them in the house; they were attentive to detail; they were extremely reasonable. We're big fans and will use them as soon as we start working on our bedroom.

They charged me about $350 or so. It was great. The work done by them is still holding up even after a year. They showed up on time and finished within a day.

He was really, really good. He and another guy came. They did great work and the price was sort of reasonable. They were great. The guy did a really good job.

Workers on time and polite. Care was taken to protect carpet and flooring, despite some some splattering on carpet. Work was completed as specified and to our satisfaction.

Fantastic! We called Chavez Painting in search of someone who would know how to clean our brick that had been splattered and oversprayed by a different painter. Jose Chavez responded promptly even though it was a weekend, knew what chemicals to use to remove the overspray and then pressure washed the entire exterior of our home. He did such an excellent job. We immediately hired him to caulk our windows (another perfect job) and asked if he could do crown moldings and refinish exterior doors. He installed and painted the molding in our family room to perfectly match what was in our dining room. The workers were quickly in and out, moved and replaced all furniture and even vacuumed before they left. What a difference it made to our living area. Our front door was quite weathered, faded and cracked. It is now a beautiful glossy mahogany and looks like new. Jose Chavez takes pride in his work and even though our front door is now complete and installed, he plans to come back in a few days to sand a couple of specks that blew on it and add another coat of stain. He uses marine quality stain with UV protection to help the door withstand the elements. We will call Chavez Painting with all our future projects. Not only does Jose Chavez do exceptional work, he is a very nice person.

Jose came by one evening to look at the job and give us an estimate. We put off doing the work for a few months, but he kept to the estimate when we called him back to do the job. It took 2 days total. He showed up with two helpers the first day. They did most of the prep work, including moving furniture, and some of the painting. They did a thorough job of protecting the floors and the furniture that they had to work around. He came back the second day with one helper and finished the painting an clean-up. The finished job looks great. We are very pleased with how it turned out. Jose was very accommodating with us as we changed our minds about a couple of the colors a few times. He was very helpful in recommending alternatives that would look more like what we wanted. The price was as he quoted except for the additional cost of paint that we decided against after purchase and numerous sample quarts he brought so that we could try some alternate colors. Overall, we were very pleased with his work. This was the 3rd time we have used Chavez, and will definitely use him again for painting work. We have also recommended him to a few friends and have gotten good feedback from the ones that have hired him.

I felt the re-texturing was not properly done. Some areas had very little texture and others much more. Floor areas were not covered during the painting so I had overspray on most of the tile floors. Trim needed two coats. When several items were brought up all were taken care of but the overspray. They did a half hearted attempt to get all of the overspray but never really got it so I had to do it myself. I think it was resonable quality but attention to detail was lacking.

There had been a soft spot in the drywall next to the fireplace and it was to the point where the drywall was crumbling. Because of this there was an unsightly hole in the wall and I knew I couldn't put off its repair any longer. I checked Angies List rating and Chavez Painting had been highly recommended. Theirs was the second estimate I'd gotten. It was a lower estimate so I decided to go with them. They showed up the next day on time and got to work immediately. Although they did a good overall job, there were some imperfections that bothered me. What I loved, however, is that as soon as I pointed them out Jose fixed the issue and had an excellent and professional attitude while doing so. Good experience. I would definitely use them again.

They were an hour late, they removed some trim to match paint colors and never replaced the trim piece! Its still missing. And I thought they were pretty pricey for the amount of work done, but they were recommended so I thought they would do a good job. They did a fairly good job on matching paint and doing a thorough job. However, I wouldn't use them again.

They were phenomenal and they were excellent at matching texture. He was an excellent painter as well and had very reasonable prices. He also came out quick to perform the work.

This was the second time I have hired Mr. Chavez for painting (first time was interior only). All work was excellent, especially his detailed work on two new exterior doors. The work was so good that I added $200 to my payment of his $2100 invoice. His price included the paint.

Excellent!! I contacted Chavez Painting (Jose) and asked for an estimate on interior painting. He came out the same day, looked at the job, and sent me a competitive bid by e-mail within a few hours. He did what the told me that he would do and my wife and I selected him to do the work. Jose and his team (Kevin and Mano) were extremely professional and did a great job! They arrived at our home when they told us and worked in an effective and efficient manner. They are pleasant to work with and have very good customer service skills. Jose did exactly what he told me he would do and fully met my expectations. They made sure that that the job was done the "right way" and applied the required coats of paint. They ensured that the rooms being painted were taped and that all furniture, flooring, and furnishings were covered. At the end of each work day, they made sure that all their paint and equipment were stored in a neatly and safely to avoid any tripping or slipping hazards. After the finished the job, they touched up, hung blinds, put everything back like it was, and vacuumed the rooms. Jose charged me what he quoted in his bid and my wife and I were extremely pleased that we got we paid for in terms of quality and value. We asked Jose to give a quote on some more work and plan to use him again and definitely will be referring him to others. Job well done!!

YOUR SEARCH IS OVER! THESE GUYS ARE AWESOME. Jose and his crew are EXCELLENT! They are very prompt with phone calls and service. They provide extreme VALUE and superb work! Jose goes out of his way to make things right with ALL of the work from full painting to touch ups where necessary. They don't try to skip out on you. They work efficiently and professionally. I am very happy to have found them on here and will be using them again shortly for some painting on the outside of the home. He should have pictures shortly of all of the work they did in my home.

He was just fabulous. I spent $1700 on the job. He did a beautiful job. He was very interested in my creativity. He worked hard to find the paints to match the ideas that I had. I’ll definitely use him in the future.

Jose came to the house within a couple hours of me calling to ask for an estimate. We set a date for repairs. He arrived at appointed time for repairs. They removed wet/damaged sheet rock tape from the ceiling where the AC had leaked. Re-taped area, textured and painted. They were very careful to curtain off the area to keep things clean. They did an excellent job matching the texture on the ceiling. Other work included fixing the window trim which had some water damage along with doing some touch-up painting of a couple walls and trim. Jose was very nice and professional. A couple of the items he fixed/painted were not even on the original plan. After seeing the good work he did on the ceiling I decided to ask him if he could do the extra touch-ups for me and he was more than happy to accommodate. I highly recommend Chavez Painting. Would definitely use them again.

I have waited until the crown molding was applied and I painted the room before sumbitting this post. Overall the job was well done, but after painting I can see a number of areas where the patch jobs are very irregular and visible. The crew had packed up and was leaving when I noted that the area around the air conditioner register was not done with the rest of the room. A patch was done to this area, but when painted the texture does not match the remainder of the ceiling. The patch in the living room was very poorly done. There was a noticible bulge of mud on one side of the patch, which was pointed out when the patch was in progress. I left a message with Jose regarding the issue, but he did not return my call until I told him I would be posting my experience on Angie's List. He did come out and repair the area, and while it is much better it does not match the rest of the ceiling. This process also took longer than the one - two days indicated.

Mr. Chavez was ten minutes early on a Saturday to review the project. He provided his estimate the next day. The estimate consisted of a short e-mail with a price -- less formal than I expected, but it worked. I obtained one other estimate, which was 20% higher. He and his assistant started their work the following Monday. 95% of the work was finished on Tuesday, but he asked to return on Wednesday for some touch-up on a door. The price included the paint (Sherwin Williams, not really my first choice, but it looks good). Mr. Chavez threw in in some minor carpentry at my request. He even got along with my ancient dog. I expect to have him back for more painting early next year.
