The crews do good work. Other than them occasionally rushing through mowing and edging, which will happen, I never had any complaints with the crews. The owner is another issue. Our mow day started on Thursday. Then slid to Friday. Then slid to Saturday afternoons & finally to Saturday mornings at 7:30. I asked the owner not to mow on Saturdays or Sundays. He responded that I signed an agreement that said they could mow on Saturdays. Period. Not "Let me see what I can do" or anything similar. It was essentially just, "Well, that's what we're going to do." I was about to fire them when he sent me this form email that said he had quit. Great customer service, buddy. If I did that to my clients, I'd be out of a job!

"Thank you for your feedback. I will address the rushing issue; however, our workers are skilled in what they do and the equipment we use allows us to be efficient with each customer's yard. Regarding delays, occasionally there are circumstances that cause us to not be able to provide services on the designated day and as such we will make up the following day. This is stated in the lawn services information sheet that we provide all prospects prior to commencing services. This info sheet also specifies the normal service day, Friday in this instance, and details our procedures regarding delays, this information sheet includes additional information about our services as well."

Johns crews do adequate work, though the quality of my lawn was slowly degrading over time. I do not really care too much about the appearance of my lawn, as long as I am not getting HOA notices, so I did not raise a fuss. John offers a program where you can commit to his services for a year and get billed monthly for 1/12th of the entire year's services -- so you don't get huge bills twice a year when he lays mulch, for example. That program was a big selling point for me, as I like to lock in my rates and then not have to think about them. Unfortunately, John isn't content to charge the prices he advertises. Instead, he nickle-and-dimes you with charges like extra fees for debris pickup (he saw my yard before giving me a price, shouldn't that have been taken into account? The last straw came at the end of December, when he sent out an email to his customers informing us that he was unilaterally hiking the monthly price he charges by an unknown amount (in my case, it would have been over $100/month). His justification for this was that it took him longer to weed some customers' flower beds than he thought it would, so he would like to make up for his mistake in setting his prices by charging us more after the fact. When I explained to him that we had a contract and he could not change the terms midway through, he accused me of not understanding the contract (I am a lawyer, John!) and then terminated our agreement. I would avoid using John's services unless you are comfortable with a variable bill and an argumentative vendor.

Crew is always in a hurry - I?ve watched them several times and each time it?s as if the entire crew is 100% focused on getting to the NEXT house instead of concentrating on the current job. As a result, each aspect of the mowing is done poorly. Every time I complained John addressed the situation, and the next time they came my yard would turn out much better. The only problem was that the very next week they would be right back where they were 2 weeks before. This took place probably 4 cycles and I finally just said stop as this company is much more expensive than any I?ve used in the past with the overall service sub par.

I explained to Mr Ashworth that my husband had a stroke and thought he understood this could mean my husband can be unstable. Apparently, he didn't have a clue. I was at the hospital for the last 4 days with my grand daughter, who has an incurable medical condition. He called me numerous times, even after I texted & spoke to him about the situation. Not everyone has a perfect life. I happen to be a person with 4 special needs people in my home. Life can be tough & he made my stress level even worse. He called me repeatedly because his service got a negative review. I thought reviews were for honesty and to warn others the type of business a company has & its customer service. John has asked me to remove the negative comments. Now, he said he will not mow my yard any more.

They spent less than 15 mins on my corner lot yard. The mower was set too high. I could not tell my yard was mowed.

The cut height is the same for all of the yards that we service. We maintain a 3.5" cut height that experts in the industry have stated is the best height for long term health of Bermuda and St. Augustine grass. Our desire is for our customer's to have the healthiest lawns possible and our method, along with proper watering and regular fertilization, helps to achieve this goal."
