I had excellent service from the moment I walked into the store until everything was installed and cleaned up. They gave me the pros and cons of the options I was looking at and I have been thrilled with the selection we made. The crew was prompt and courteous and I would hire them back without hesitation.

I started remodeling my home in November 2010. I started with repainting the inside and outside. I had them remove a window and door which was replaced with French doors, removed siding and replaced with stucco, then gutted the kitchen. I hired a husband and wife team out of Mansfield Texas who presented themselves as contractors to do these projects. After the painting, removal of the window and door, the French door was installed, siding was removed and stucco installed, I could see these people were not qualified to do this type work. Plus they did not get city permits where permits were required. This is when I contacted Angie’s List for help in finding a qualified company. I contacted a few companies and decided to use Five Star Flooring. I was very apprehensive at this point as I had already paid the other people from Mansfield for work I knew was going to have to be redone. Ken and Karen of Five Star Flooring were very understanding and it was their “caring” attitude that swayed my decision. They assured me the job would be done right and it was! The first day, they removed the French doors. They also re-did the stucco work on the patio. None of the work I had previously paid for had been done correctly so it was all re-done. Then, they started on the kitchen. Ken went with me to pick out granite. He never rushed me and assured me, I would find the right granite and I did. He also designed the back splash and made suggestions all along the way. Ken has an eye for colors….I wish I had listen to him more. My kitchen is small but after the remodeling they did, it looks much bigger and is so functional. They also did a faux finish on the walls in the kitchen and breakfast area and repainted my den and both hall ways. I could not be happier with the work. What started as a nightmare has since turned out so well. Making sure you have a qualified company doing your work makes all the difference in the world. It will save you time, money and so much frustration in the long run. I highly recommend Five Star Flooring. I will use them on any future remodeling jobs I do.

The price did not include materials. It was a good price and they did a good job. They did good work and the price was fair. They did quality work. I would use them again.

Disappointed with the quality of material and installation.

It was a good experience. We had to get foundation work done before they could do their magic so it was a longer process than most but it went well. We would use them again. They did the leveling in one day then a day to dry, then the carpet install in one day. It came out very well and we were quite pleased with all of it. We had foundation work that preceded their work and one was dependent on the other.

They did quite a bit of work on my mother's house that we are trying to sell. They could do multiple things themselves or with people that they use. It was nice to turn the whole job over to them, rather than getting someone else to do each job. It was convenient. The quality was good. They are a little high priced, but they are worth the money. There were a few issues here and there.

Project was on time and under budget. Five Star had to match some travertine I had in my entry way. They hand picked the pieces and it matched great. These guys are as honest and straight forward as any contractor I have dealt with. You ask a question, you get an honest and complete answer. They put three coats of sealer on the floor at no extra charge when they had bid just two. Said they just wanted to make sure the kitchen was sealed to their satisfaction. The results are beyond anything I had expected. Just could not be happier.

I found them when our house was first built, and we were so pleased with their work we have stuck with them since. They have fair prices and are very punctual. They also clean up very well after themselves. Because they are so experienced they offer valuable advice on how they believe things should be done. In the end they value the opinion of the client no matter what they personally think.

They gave us line-item estimates on everything, so we could pick and choose what we wanted them to do. They seem to have done a good job with the work they did. They did a good job on the tiling and flooring.

Ken stopped by when he said he would and gave me an estimate which was about what I had budgeted for the work. We were in the process of moving so waited until the house was empty to have Five Star work on the floor and then had to reschedule. As I was driving in from out of town to meet Five Star at the house I received a call that they could start the job a couple hours earlier than planned. I arrived shortly before the men did and couldn't get the front door unlocked because the house had settled. Michael helped me unlock the door and Ken fixed the door. The work was finished on time and I was very pleased with how the floor turned out. I would definitely hire Five Star Flooring again.

They were on time. They were helpful about determining if some work would look good in different areas. I did like them, and they might do the carpet for me.

It’s a man and wife operation and they’ve been in business for a long time. I thought they were very friendly and gave us a lot of good information. They showed up right on schedule to make their estimate.

They were excellent! From the time we went into the store to deciding what we wanted to have done. We have had a lot of work down on our home over the years and they were the best subcontractors we have ever worked with. Once we met with them we felt so comfortable with their work that we didn't need to shop around extensively. We had some other contractors tell us that the floor had to be ripped up and replaced. This company was able to sand and clean it and it looks brand new!

They were fine. They did good quality work and their price was reasonable. They were very quick to get to the job.

It went really well. They were very professional, they had a great crew. They kept a very clean work site. They are a little more expensive than other quotes we received but well worth it.

They did a good job. The price was what I expected and he was responsive. I would use them again in the future.

I chose 5 Star because they had a competitive bid and they were a family owned and operated company. They actually provided 3 quotes as I first considered refinishing the existing engineered wood floor. I selected the 3rd quote all new floor. They started 1 day later than promised because Ken (the owner) explained the materials had to be shipped in and were a day late. Ken was easy to work with and worked with me on ideas for the job. One downside was that 1 or 2 of his workers were pretty careless and scratched up my front door and travertine tile entryway and dinged a couple of walls carrying stuff in and out. Ken later, at my request, tried to fix these, but was not successful (I fixed the wall dings). A second downside was that a day before finishing, Ken asked for more money, saying he forgot to add an extra 10% to cover waste. Being good with numbers, I checked his quotes and found that what he told me was not correct 10% was added to cover waste, but there was in fact an error on the 3rd quote I selected. I believe a quote is a firm quote (he asked me to sign it when I gave him the work), but in the interest of fairness, I offered to split the error with him which he accepted without argument. I did not pay for one extra box of flooring (which was not in the corrected quote). It would not have been required had they not had to rip out some finished work and do some rework because his workers messed up (a couple of his guys were quite good but another 1 or 2 needed training -- or pink slips). Finally, they called asking for final payment, saying the job was complete. When in fact there were a number of loose ends including a mess in the backyard, back porch, front yard, and front porch. I had to throw away our front and rear entry mats as they were covered with a white powder we could not clean off. I gave them a list of 11 items needing to be completed, but we did half of them ourselves as we just wanted to get it over with. Ken came back and did the other half without complaint. With a little more professionalism, a lot of this could have been avoided. We are quite happy with the quality of the finished work, but cannot award an "A" because of the issues mentioned above.

Ken and Karen are great. They are enthusiastic about linoleum, which was refreshing after several other installers tried to talk me out of it. (I LOVE it by the way). Also, every other installer said that I had to do the welding on the seams since it was going to be in water areas. Ken said that was hooey, gave extensive reasoning behind his hooey theory, and thus gave me the look I wanted and saved me several thousands of dollars. I felt like he was honest with me throughout and I trusted his judgment as problems arose later. They did a beautiful job with the installation, and I haven't had a bit of trouble even after the floors have been heavily abused by 2 children and 4 pets.

Overall, Five Star could not have been better to work with. They did a great job at a very reasonable price.

The price was the best one, when I called around to different places. They did show up on time and did a great job. This guy is a perfectionist in my opinion. He made sure everything was absolutely perfect for me.
