Delivery was originally scheduled and confirmed (by email) for "midafternoon."  After 3:30 I called the company dispatcher and requested an update.  Subsequently I received a call from the driver telling me he would arrive by 6pm.  At 6:45pm I called the office and left a message for Willy, my original contact, then I called the driver for an update.  At that point the driver told me he'd be another 45 minutes (7:30pm). They finally arrived at 7:45. I really, really hope this mattress is worth the aggravation.

I own my own small business so I'm
sensitive to the demands on small business. I began my experience with Garret
with the son of the owner, "Brandon," of which he was masterful and
explaining how every other company that I could hire for less was horrible
idea. He explained why I needed to hire Garett because my things would not be safe
with other companies and I liked that this was a small family run business like
mine. So I agreed to pay more but received far less service than I could have
ever expected with many "lost" or broken things. The day we packed up
went pretty smooth however, the day of the move the employees were sprinting
through the tasks and while they were paid to unpack most rooms were not. They
left before we were completely unpacked and didn't even place furniture in the
proper rooms. They broke my bed side rail, "lost" several expensive
Capholon pots, and 5 lamp hallows, a blow dryer and god knows what else. Didn't
expect Garrett to be perfect so I called on the bigger things that were
"lost" and was told they would send a 3rd party right away to help
with the replacement of my things. This was the beginning of October 2012. I've
called once every month since (5 months) and been told each time, "don't
worry we will have this taken care of by this by this 3rd party." In
January I even spoke with the Owner and was assured Id be helped. It is March
2013 and I'm now frustrated and I told "Willy" that I would report my
experience via yelp if they didn't honor their commitments. It is now 3 days
later and I just called this morning and spoke with Brenda and was made to feel
as if I were the problem. Brenda explained that their were just other claims
ahead of mine and that there was no need for me to be frustrated. She didn't
even ask what I wanted or know my issues. They haven't a clue at how to help a
customer because Im very understanding but in this case they are just that bad.
In the end, their sales pitch is strong but "buyer be very aware"
this is a very poorly run company that will not honor any of their commitments
from the movers to the front office team. I strongly recommend that you use any
other company than this one to move your possessions.

They came to pack everything up for us about two days before the actual move and there were three people who came to pack.   They were all very nice and if they were unsure about where something should go, they had no problem asking me.   We had bought boxes and tape on our own since it is much more expensive to use moving company supplies....but we ended up not having enough so we had to buy boxes from them to finish.   I would definitely recommend getting your own supplies if you can as it will save you a lot of money.    The day of the move, the three guys were there right on time and they called about 20 minutes before they arrived.   It took them about 6-7 hours to complete the move and that included about a one hour lunch break.    We were a little annoyed by the one hour lunch break but got over it since the service itself was great overall.

It did not go well.  There were charges that were not discussed with us beforehand that we learned about only after the move took place.  So it ended up, when it came time to write the check, it ended up being a lot more costly than what we had discussed.  There were items that were broken and damaged in the moving process and the unwrapping process.  There was leather furniture that was cut.  Certain items they would wrap or put plastic over in order to keep them clean during the move.  When these items were moved into the new home, they used box cutters to cut this wrapping off and so leather furniture was actually cut in the process of taking the wrappings off.  A granite table top was dropped and cracked in half.  When they showed up at the new location, they all smelled of marijuana, so apparently they had smoked on their way to the house before they started unloading.  The son of the owner was on time when he came out to give me a quote and look around.  They showed up on time to do the move.

In March 1999 we moved from Plano to Allen. We moved from a one story to a 2 story.They got everything right and nothing broke. 
Move was completed in the estimated time, guys were friendly and worked fast. This was 12 years ago so I would recommend getting some more recent recommendations.

1. During quotation and re-quotation?verified all items would be shipped direct?no storage, no sub shipments. 2. On Aug 19 and again Aug 22, verified movers would show up at 9 AM, repeatedly asked if earlier was possible?was told no need would be done by 4 PM. Showed up at 9:40 AM, finished 1st day at 11:30 PM. (not enough people to start with and several left before complete) 3. Aug 22, told them to be there @ 9 AM, to finish up. Showed up at 9:30 to finish by ~ 10:45?told all items would be on one shipment to FL. 4. On Aug 23--After a long discussion ?was told all of my house hold goods would be on the truck?hence no patio plants, full delivery scheduled for Friday, Aug 27. 5. On Aug 23, 3 hours after leaving Dallas?told my goods would NOT show up on Friday @ 9 AM, but would some would up on Saturday @ 9AM?all my household goods. In reality, Saturday @ noon some household goods showed up?missing two mattress sets and other items. Again?not enough manpower, finished up on Sunday AM (Aug 29). 6. Not a single follow-up call (after delayed loading, after delayed off-loading) from anyone?only knew driver was showing up at noon because I called the driver myself. 7. Requested weekly follow-up calls on progress of my remaining items?one update. (Sept 4); call on Sept 17 to say delivery would be here between 10 AM ? noon on Wed Sept 22. Called again Sept 20 to say items would arrive ~ 3 PM?truck showed up at 6:45 PM.

The charge was $108 per hour and that included traveling time. They got lost going from the destination back to my old home. They were lost for 40 minutes. I was paying them for the time that they were lost and I felt completely ripped off. There were some other negative experiences I had with the move as well.

I highly recommend these guys. They were professional and very efficient. I have a large sectional which the furniture company almost couldn't get in the house because of the shape. Dan and Roger has no trouble and moved everything in record time. I will use them for the rest of my project which also involves emptying a large pod.

They were very competitive and we contacted a couple of other people and theirs was the best price. On both counts they were prompt in giving us a bid and were more than competitive. They were also much lower than some of the others on the list. They also took great care with all the pieces of furniture, so did a really good job. We just had total confidence in them and would highly recommend them. We will be using them again because they have our stuff in storage and we have to get it out.

They called me ten minutes before the first appointment to tell me they had to reschedule. It was not very good because I was already on my way home from the office. They were nice enough. I got quotes from local and national companies and they were pretty expensive for a local company. They were find but they didn't bowl me over.

From the first phone call, this was a truly professional move. When I called, Debbie answered the phone and transferred me promptly to Garrett himself who provided great information on getting a move quoted. I have moved many times before and knew that I wanted four people and wanted to pay by the hour. Garrett offerred up the use of free boxes that they have to minimize my expense for moving supplies. The "two catches" is that you have to come get them and when you move and are unpacked they want to come pick them up. This really helped keep our expense down. On day 1, the movers called to say that they were getting a later start, and instead of 9:30, they would be there closer to 10:30. I appreciated the call. When they arrived, they started very promptly and they moved very quickly. The second part of the move was two weeks later, where we moved the remainder of the 2nd house, which we only needed two movers. All six movers were very good and I would be happy to use Garrett's again.

A perfect move! Movers were very professional and efficient. They arrived on time, every time, were always courteous and helpful. Not only did they move my furniture, but they also moved an extra futon to my son's house at no extra charge. The movers were very careful with covering items with blankets to protect the wood finish, and they installed temporary corner bumpers on all walls to keep from marring the walls. Every time I called them, a real person answered the phone. A pleasure nowadays! Overall, very impressed with the service, and would definitely recommend them to anyone.

THEY WERE PUNCTUAL AND COMPLETED THE JOB IN 9 HOURS, INCLUDING THE 1 HOUR AND 45 MINUTES DRIVE TO AND FROM MINEOLA. THEY DID NOT DAMAGE ANY FURNITURE AND WERE VERY CAREFUL WITH EVERYTHING.
