The estimate was the highest we got, but the most accurate in terms of what we had, and the people were really nice, so we hired them. The estimated weight of our stuff turned out to be low, but they stuck to the quoted rate, so we got a good deal anyway. The moving team was great, with a very professional lead guy. He worked around little issues here and there, like an unexpected conflict with a contractor who had a bunch of stuff in the way the day we moved in. As far as we know we got all of our stuff, but there were a few numbered boxes that didn't come across in the final count; this was probably due to stickers coming off, etc. We haven't found everything yet, but we haven't finished unpacking boxes. There were really only 2 issues we encountered. First, Suddath did not charge my credit card on the date they said they would. I specifically asked this question and was a given an exact date. A week later it had not been charged yet, and meanwhile the bank had deactivated the card due to a fraud issue. So, in the midst of moving in, I had to deal with the bank. Had the charge been done when they said they would do it, this would not have been an issue. The second problem was that we received an unexpected bill from United Van Lines a few weeks after the move, an attempt to overcharge us for some third party fees. Upon contacting United, they said we'd have to resolve it through Suddath. Suddath promptly assured me that it was their error and they would take care of it, and I should disregard the bill from United. About a month later, United charged my card for the amount of the bill. Yes, Suddath did get this reversed, but it caused me extra headache that I didn't need. That's two preventable errors on their part, both of which occurred in the office. One other thing happened that was more of a nuisance than anything. We had a propane grill and moving the tank was against Suddath policies. No problem there. The estimator told us that we could go to Home Depot or Lowe's and turn in the tank, and they'd give us a ticket to get another one at our destination, sort of like an everyday trade-in so we would not have to buy a new tank. As it turns out, neither Home Depot nor Lowe's does this. They had no idea what I was talking about. I explained that I had been told this, and they both checked with managers and said no, they don't do this. Annoying misinformation.
