Explained what the work would encompass, approximate location of piers to be installed, number of piers and how the piers are push to resistance to establish a stable foundation. Will use when we can afford to start work.

We signed the contract in mid October and waited 2 months for them to come and do the work. December 18th was the soonest they could come out. They had a lot of contracts and work to get done before the end of 2013. They said it would take 2-1/2 days. We did not hear a word from them for those two months. The day before they were to show up, a woman who, I thought, was "snippy" called from the office and wanted to know how I planned to pay the down payment of $1,000. I told her that I didn't even know if they were coming out the next day, as scheduled, because no one had called since we set up an appointment in October. She volunteered to check to see if they were still coming out because she had just gotten the paperwork that morning. Odd that she had just gotten the paperwork since the contract had been signed for 2 months. I gave her my payment information when I found out they had planned to show up the next day, as scheduled. I think they should have called me several days before letting me know that they were going to keep the appointment they made or if it had been changed due to back work not being finished. They did come as scheduled. It was 1 week before Christmas. As far as the actual work of digging holes, placing the piers and cleaning up after themselves, I would recommend them to anyone. They did a very nice job. The crew did not speak English nor were they allowed to talk to me. Only the supervisor answered questions. He was very nice and answered my questions. One of the men who was jackhammering our front porch broke the handle off of our glass door. I could not prove he did it and he wasn't going to admit to it but the handle fell off in my hand when I walked through the door. The guy just stood there looking at me. That handle was perfect before he started the jack hammering. We spent over $60.00 getting the replacement handle for the door. They were not making the original handle anymore. We had to order it from the company. The jack hammer was very close to that door and there was nothing wrong with that handle until that day. We could not use the door until it was fixed. They were late coming the next day (11:30 a.m.) due to a trailer problem. They finished putting all the dirt back in total darkness because they had another job the next day. It was approaching the end of the year. I was told the jobs needed to be finished and the money collected. The crew each had a small head light on their head to see. We gave them all the light we had. The side of the house was the most dark. Some of our bushes were not put back in the right place. It was so dark along the side of the house that they pulled the wires to our phone, internet connection and our TV cable connection loose and we lost all service. The dirt, in the dark, had gotten too heavy and damaged the wiring that had been stretched until it came out of the box when they were replacing the dirt in the dark.. The cable company had to come out the next day and rewire the whole set-up . The supervisor said they had 2 days to get this job done. We were not charged by the cable company for repairs. It cost us more than we expected in replacement costs for their carelessness.
Description of Work: 19 5-6 foot deep holes were dug and piers were installed around the front and part of both sides of our house going down 20 feet. All but one pier was outside. The foundation had to be jack hammered inside the house for 1 pier. The brick front porch and foundation was also jack hammered. 2 piers were placed there.

Response from Structured Foundation Repairs and Roofing Systems
Our goal at Structured Foundation Repairs, Inc. is always complete customer satisfaction. However we recognize that, even if we do the best job possible, there are some customers who will always provide constructive critism or sometimes even negative feedback. We take all our comments from our customers, both good and bad, very seriously. Most of the time when a customer has negative feedback it is simply because there is a perception problem or possibly it is a result of mis-communication. Since I believe that is the case here, this response is an attempt to remedy that. The customer complains that she had no communication with our company during the waiting period between her signing the agreement authorizing the work and our office calling for the down payment. We always explain to the customer what our process is and that is as follows: 1. An independent engineer will contact you sometime before the job starts to conduct his evaluation. 2. Approximately a week before the job starts the utility company will mark all appropriate utility lines. 3. Our office will call the day before to confirm we are coming with some minor instructions. The only reason we would make contact with a customer prior to repairs other than the items above would be regarding schedule changes or missing pieces of information. In this particular case, there was no schedule change and the only missing piece of information was how the homeowner planned to take care of the down payment. The customer states that the crew was not allowed to speak with her. We don’t tell our laborers they cannot talk to customers. However, one of the main responsibilities of the crew chief is to explain the process as it progresses and answer any questions the Homeowner may have. After reading this review, the crew chief spoke to me at length about his recollection of events. He remembers the event with the front door very differently. He said when he arrived the second day the handle was removed from the door, when he asked the customer about it she did not at any time indicate that she felt the crew had anything to do with the problem with it. This review is the first the office has heard about the door handle. The customer did not call us to complain or indicate in anyway that she felt there was any carelessness during the job. The crew chief also said that he did not mention at any time that the job needed to be paid before the end of the year. The agreement the customer signed says that payment is due upon completion of lift (when the installation of the piers is completed). He said that he always has the same conversation with customers after the job is complete, telling them they are welcome to either write him a check or call the office to pay with a credit card. He also said he made the decision to stay later the second evening to finish the job rather than inconvenience the customer another day. He felt that the items they had remaining did not merit coming back another day. Had the customer let us know early on that they were concerned about the placement of the bushes we would have been more than happy to send a crew out to move them. However, after waiting 6 weeks, there is not much the company can do. The crew chief was frustrated after reading the review because he did a final walk through with the husband of the customer writing the review and said he would have handled any items the customer was concerned about at that time. However, the customer seemed happy and did not mention any issues at that time. We are pleased that the customer was happy with the quality of our repairs. We would have been happier if she would have been please with the entire process. Hopefully this new information will clear up any misperception or miscommunication that may have lead to her dissatisfaction.

I had ceramic tiles cracking in the kitchen, so I wondered if I had a foundation problem causing this. They sent a man to inspect my property. He arrived on time, inspected the house inside and out, took level measurements, and told me I did not have a foundation problem. Though I did not need their repair service, I was impressed with their honesty and the general way they do business. I would definitely call them again or recommend them to anyone.

Because of the ice storm, the crew did not come until noon of the day following the appointment. The crew worked until dusk the first night and completed the job, including a great cleanup, the day following. The engineer and plumber came and gave us the OK. We receved the warranty after (1-11-14)they had completed their studies. We were pleased.

They did a great job on the installation and the follow-up. More importantly, 11 months later, when I had concerns about the house - primarily about foundation repairs done 14 years earlier by one of their competitors - they sent Chad Martin, their Warranty Specialist, out to check. Chad checked all of the levels in the house - not just in the area where they had done the work, and reassured me that everything was fine and my house needed no additional work. In addition, he spent a lot of time explaining how things worked, what to look for as signs of foundation problems, what a good watering program would be, etc. All of that for no charge, when his competitor, who had done the other work 14 years earlier, had refused to honor its warranty and wanted to charge me $250.00 just to come out and tell me whether there was a problem with its own work. I think this is great customer service by Structured Foundation Repairs, Inc, and I could not recommend them highly enough.

called company to share my concern. I sent report per their request, but never heard back. So I get the companies response, that says I never called or provided the address. Completely false, they are just CYI'ing I provided the address to Angies list when I filled out the review and yes I did call and speak to the company and share my concern. I sent the report via email on Oct 1 to Heidi Morrison Operation Manager Structured Foundation Repairs, Inc. 972-484-1200 The address where the estimate was provided is 4403 Westcliffe Drive in Mansfield. I still have the report and be glad to upload if allowed. Sales guy named Chad did the report. liar liar, pants on fire! Run as fast as you can from these guys. Just out to make a quick buck. Always get a 2nd opinion. I did and it saved me over $5K.
Description of Work: provided an inspection on a house I was trying to sell. The buyer called Structured out for an inspection. What they convinced the home buyer to do was hold off on the buying house until $5,755 was done in repairs. After hiring a structure engineer that the buyer recommended to do a full home inspection did we find the truth. Nothing wrong with the foundation, no repairs needed. The sale of home went through a week later than expected, but I was out $350.00 to a certified engineer for his detailed inspection and report. Lesson learned, never trust a foundation sales rep who gets paid by the job. Make sure they have an engineering degree and can validate that you have real problems before you spend the money. Otherwise your just lining his pocket. Very disappointed.

Unfortunately the address this owner uses does not match any addresses of evaluation in our system. (I am guessing he did not use the property address when he filled out his review.) Since we looked at the property for the buyer, we don't have a reference for this homeowner. We would appreciate the homeowner providing the property address for the evaluation so we can properly respond and review internally. Our goal is always customer satisfaction and would hate for someone (even third party) to be disappointed without having all the information.

Jeff Ellison came to our home to give us an estimate regarding some cracks above our windows. Our house is old...and dated...and needs some TLC. Before we renovate we cant to make sure there are no structural issues. Jeff was extremely knowledgable and thorough. His questions of us were spot on related to the renovations we want to do in our home. He answered all our questions as well. In the end, our home is sound and doesn't need any repairs. I loved the honesty...not all companies have that reputation. He explained some things that could be done when we renovate to reinforce the foundation. If I ever need foundation work or know anyone that does...I am contacting Structured Foundation Repairs first.

I had received bids from 3 different foundation repair companies based off a structural engineer's report that I had done. They were not the lowest bidder. I selected another company that I had used before, but they tried to add additional charges when they got out here to install the piers. There was pool equipment that needed to be worked around in the digging. I had told all companies of this, but only Structured actually came out and looked at it. Anyway, when the first company "flamed out", I called Structured. They agreed to honor their original bid and came out to do the work. They got it done in one day and my house is not in great shape. These guys have a lot of high ratings on Angie's List and I can see why. They were very professional and very good at their jobs. They noticed a broken sewer pipe during the lift and allowed me to get a plumber out here to fix it before they left. This saved me money on that repair. All in all they did a great job and I would use them again! Hopefully, won't have to though!!

- Free estimate and repair plan. The latest appointment I could get with Brendon was in 10 days. But he came on time and gave the estimates. - The repair was scheduled well after a month. - Independent Structural Engineer made measurements before the repair and certified the repair plan. - Repair team removed plants and shrubs, made repairs within a day - Inside the house, carpet was pulled off but after the repair there was hardly any dust. - After a few days, a plumber and a structural Engineer evaluated the repair and certified again. - Payments are made after the repair Overall, a very high quality work was done by Structured Foundation repair. I am waiting for the life time warranty that is supposed to be mailed to me.

The rep came as scheduled and worked up a proposal. Then he scheduled an engineer to confirm his proposal as appropriate. On the repair day, they came on time and worked all day. All the piers were completed in the day. They scheduled the plumber for testing afterwards and the engineer after inspection. All the parties used were great! Everyone was prompt. It did take a whole day but I was afraid it would take longer.

First, they were very responsive making multiple attempts to contact me when i didn't get back to them immediately after my initial inquiry. They scheduled the appointment, and showed up on time. They were professional and took the time to measure and compare the current measurements to previous measurements taken by an engineering company. They did not recommend work at this time, and provided me with things to pay attention to to determine if/when they may need to come reinspect. I was very impressed by the employees of this company. They were friendly, customer oriented, and demonstrated alot of knowledge and integrity. If I have to have work done in the future, I would definitely use them.

I have had many many problems since the foundation repair, and have had trouble getting Structured to respond. At first I could not even get them to return my calls/e-mails. Then they were too busy to come out. Finally, when they did come out, I was not home and they told my mom they would send an estimate. They never did. Warranty is worthless if they won't even talk to me while my house falls apart. In reply to the service provider's response, yes - I requested someone come that week, rather than several months down the line. Contrary to the service provider's response, no messages were ever left. My e-mail address has never changed, and should be on file. Further, the damage was to an area where I was *told* there were repairs. Finally, I hired someone else to come in, and discovered what a lousy job had been done in the first place.

Response from Structured Foundation Repairs and Roofing Systems
The first recorded call we had from this customer requesting a warranty visit was October 23, 2012. A representative called the customer and he was unwilling to schedule an appointment for re-evaluation to determine whether or not the structure needed adjustments, stating he wanted a crew at his house that week and could not wait for someone to re-evaluate. On April 12th of 2013 the customer called again and we scheduled a warranty specialist to visit his property on April 23, 2013 at the customers convenience to determine if adjustments needed to be made. During the visit the Warranty Specialist discovered that the damage the customer was referencing was in an area that had not been previously repaired so he recommended the addition of 5 new piers. He told the customer our office would be in touch to get the bid to him. An administrative person from our office left several messages with the customer requesting his email so she could send him the bid. He did not ever return her calls and eventually the file was re-filed for no activity. We apologize that the customer feels he was not provided with the level of service we are known for. Our records show we did our due diligence on several occasions trying to assist the customer. Since several seasons have past we recommend the customer call us for re-evaluation.

I received 4 estimates for the job. Structured Foundations was the lost cost bidder at about 35% of the cost of the highest bidder. The estimator was professional, thorough and very helpful in helping me understand the proposal and the rationale behind his recommendations. The repair crew was extremely professional. They were on time, efficient and knowledgeable of the contract and how to execute it. The crew chief was excellent in supervising his crew and made sure that the yard and house were clean when the crew left. Technically the job involved installing 8 piers including 4 breakouts of concrete patio or driveway. The costs was a fraction of the 3 other bidders.

Hello [member name removed] - Thank you for posting a review. We take our reviews very seriously at Structured. I have looked up your information in our system and see we actually looked at two houses for you. One did not need repairs and one we prepared an estimate for. I would appreciate some additional information on the "C" rating you provided for professionalism. This representative is highly requested and has been with our company for some time. If you could give me additional details I would be more than happy to address your concerns and hopefully the next customer will benefit from your feedback. Again, thank you for taking the time to review and I look forward to your additional comments.

They had done previous work for me, so I trusted their judgement. I'm not the final decision maker, otherwise they would be doing the work on this house too. They were on time, very professional and this was the second time I've used their free estimate. I only wish my family had used them to check the foundation BEFORE buying the house. Great Company and Jeff is a straight shooter!

From the first call they were very proffesional and asked alot of questions. Listen to what our issues were. They did a very through job in reviewing and checking out the entire house's foundation. They took measurements throughout the house, not just were we had an issue. After they did their analysis, they sent in an engineer who confirmed the issue and confirmed the paln to repair the issue. On the day they arrived to do the job, they took the time to explain what they would be doing as well as took measurements through out the house as they were completing the repairs. They did an excellent job keep us informed throughout the process and when completed they took one more measuremnt throughout the house to make sure everything was ok. I had quotes from other companies and Structured was not the cheapest nor were they the most expensive. I would highly recommend them and will if needed you them again.
