The owner of the company came out. He is an engineer. He went around and tested. He sat down and explained everything to me and showed everything to me on the paper. He was the first one I felt comfortable with and trusted.
Description of Work: This included 2 engineering reports and a plumber to come check for leaks afterwards. This was a package deal.

I first contacted them a year ago but was not able to do anything at that time. A year later I contacted them again. They started over again with the entire process, and estimated almost the exact same quote. They were able to do the work within 2 weeks and complete it in two days. I did have repairs to take care of afterwards, like doors not hanging right, cracks in the walls and ceilings, roof buckling, etc. But they were all things that were expected. And they provided a lifetime transferable warranty for any future issues with section. I would recommend them to anyone, and use them again if needed.
Description of Work: I had 19 exterior and 2 interior pilings installed to raise the back to the same level as the rest of the house.

Response from Structured Foundation Repairs and Roofing Systems
To whom it may concern: RE: Response to complainant [Member Name Removed] [Member Information Removed] Cir., Weatherford Texas The customer's complaint says, "The salesman lied to me about the process that would be used. The crew leader left and didn't come back till the job was almost done. Now I have 20 plus cracks in my sheetrock and my brick is cracked in at least two places." First of all, We don't lie to customers about the process. What would be the point of that? For this particular repair, the settlement of the area we repaired was severe enough to require the installation of a pier in the middle of the room. Having to jackhammer through the concrete slab on the interior of a home is a mess. If anything, we over-prepare someone for the invasiveness of the process. Second, Mr. [Member Name Removed] was not present for the original evaluation nor did our representative ever speak to him on the phone. His wife was the only point of contact. I'm unsure how Mr. [Member Name Removed] can claim anything about being lied to when he was never directly involved in any of the discussions. The only way Mr. [Member Name Removed] would have known anything about the process would have been to have the information that we gave to his wife relayed to him by her. If running a business with over 130 employees and dealing with nearly 100,000 customers has taught me anything, it is that when technical information about what we do is relayed from one layperson to another layperson, it is always changed to some degree or, in many cases, entirely misquoted. I believe that is the case here. Mr. [Member Name Removed] claims that the crew chief left and didn't come back until the job was almost done. As a large, successful foundation repair company, we track everything about our customers, our repairs, and the whereabouts of our trucks, as you would expect. Each and every truck we have has a GPS unit which records the vehicle's whereabouts to the minute. The crew arrived at exactly 8:45 a.m. and the foreman laid out where the piers were to be installed and the crew began digging the holes. The crew foreman left to take a crew member to a restroom at 10:10 a.m.and was back on site at 10:28 a.m.. He made sure the crew was progressing as planned and left at 10:35 a.m. to pick up some material that was not available to him when he loaded up that morning. The supplier was located about 30 miles away. He picked up the material and some lunch for he and the crew and headed back to the job. He was back on the job site at 12:15 p.m. He was there the rest of the day supervising the lift and cleanup (his primary job) and left with the crew at 4:02 when the job was finished. He arrived back at our shop at 4:48. Mr. [Member Name Removed] claims that he has 20 plus cracks in his sheetrock and at least 2 in the exterior brick veneer. While I'm unsure exactly how many cracks Mr. [Member Name Removed] has, I'm certain that he has some. In fact, he had many (if not all) of them before starting the repairs. When foundation problems occur, the foundation moves down (or settles) more than it is designed to do. That movement causes cracks in the finished surfaces (sheetrock, brick veneer, etc.). It is typically those cracks that alert a homeowner that he may have foundation problems in the first place. When foundation repairs are performed (lifting the foundation back), pre-existing cracks can close up (or not) and new cracks can occur. That is simply the nature of foundation problems and their subsequent repairs. This is not only explained in great detail to our customers, it is also spelled out on our contracts. In this particular case, Mr. [Member Name Removed] took the crew foreman around the house and pointed out the cracks he already had when the crew arrived at the beginning of the day. Until we received the "F" review on Angie's List, we had no idea that the customer was unhappy about anything regarding our repairs. He seemed pleased with the repairs when the crew foreman walked around with him after the repairs were completed and he paid the crew chief for the repairs before the crew left. He never once complained to either the crew foreman or the original structural analyst that met with his wife and evaluated the foundation. Neither he nor his wife ever called our office with any kind of complaint. The engineer that performed the final inspection and certified the repairs did not have any issues with the results of the repairs at all. Based on all of the information available to me, I don't believe that we did anything wrong. If Mr. [Member Name Removed] was unhappy with any of the work that we did, you would think that a phone call to us would have been appropriate. Instead, he elected to denigrate us in a public forum with inaccurate information without ever communicating with us any dissatisfaction with the repairs.

The customer alerted our analyst that he felt he had mis-measured the drainage discharge on his original quote. The analyst rescheduled to revisit the property and admitted he did make a miscalculation. The structural analyst who was assigned to this property was distracted and made a mistake, which he later tried to remedy. We recognize the analyst's oversight could put doubt in a customers mind, we apologize for any inconvenience and we sincerely hope this customer has great success with the company he chose.

They "fixed" my foundation and said my house would settle back in a month or two.... fast forward to 6 months and it got worse! I’m talking 1” cracks in my upstairs walls, the whole house is splitting into two. I called Structure Foundation back out to let them look at how bad it had gotten and I was told I needed 24 new jacks. 24! I had 3 other companies (including Brown Foundation) come out and was told that Structured Foundation should have never installed the jacks earlier that year, thus I wouldn't have had to pay the plumbers (Hole In One Plumbing) 2K for fixing something they didn't fix after all. What the issue was true issue, the bank I bought the house from 3 years ago had hired foundation company who lifted it too high. This has also caused issues with my roof and my roof deck I had to pull down. I’m now looking at getting a lawyer because my insurance company won’t pay for the damages.
Description of Work: to see if i needed foundation work since doors wouldn't shut.

Response from Structured Foundation Repairs and Roofing Systems
Response to [Member Name Removed] Review To Whom it may concern, We are very sorry that the customer is not happy with the fact that she needs additional repairs. However, she has played fast and loose with the facts and has libeled us in a public forum. The customer purchased a foreclosed property from a bank in 2014. The bank had apparently had another company install 6 piers (2 piers were installed on the right side near a bathroom and 4 piers in the front around the left side of the kitchen). In August of 2015, the customer apparently saw new signs of movement and hired an engineer to evaluate her foundation. The engineer recommended the installation of 5 new piers along the back bedrooms. The customer then contracted with us to install the 5 new piers that her engineer recommended. We installed the 5 engineer recommended piers in December 2015. The [Member Information Removed] engineer later inspected the repairs and determined that they were properly installed and certified the repairs. In late October 2016, the customer contacted us stating that she had signs of movement and requested a warranty inspection. The warranty inspection was completed in November 2016. Our representative took a new set of elevations and compared them to the elevations after our work was completed. Based on the elevation changes and the signs of movement (cracks, etc.), he recommended the installation of 24 new piers along with the adjustment of 4 existing piers (not ours) and adjustment of the 5 piers we installed (to be adjusted at no charge under the warranty). We have had no contact with the customer since until receiving her bogus "review". The specific complaints of the customer are as follows: 1. The customer said that other companies have told her that we never should have installed the 5 piers we installed in 2015. First of all, while the customer is free to get whatever opinions she likes with regard to the condition of her foundation, their opinion on what we did in 2015 is irrelevant. It was the customer's own engineer who proposed the installation of the 5 piers. We simply did what the customer's own engineer recommended. That work was done correctly and in a workmanlike manner. The customer's engineer certified the work and the customer paid us for the repairs. In fact, the customer had no issues at all with our repairs until we received the customer's review. 2. The customer claims that she wouldn't have had to repair a below slab sewage leak if we hadn't installed the 5 piers that her engineer recommend to be installed. First of all, below slab leaks are very common and can, in fact, be caused by foundation movement (either when the foundation settles or when it is repaired (raised)). Since the below slab pipes cannot be inspected during the lifting process, there is no way a foundation repair contractor can control whether or not leaks occur. Consequently, leaks are sometimes part of doing foundation repairs. All foundation repair contractors' contracts specifically say that they are not responsible for any leaks. In this case, the leaks were in the bathroom where the piers were installed by the bank prior to her purchasing the home and under the adjoining utility room. (Our piers were installed in the back where there is no plumbing.) It is unknown whether or not the bank had the plumbing checked after those repairs, but it is not likely. Therefore, the leak was present when the customer purchased the home and had nothing to do with the 5 piers her engineer recommend and we installed on the other side of the house. 3. The customer claims "the real issue" was that the contractor the bank hired to do some repairs prior to her purchase "lifted the foundation too high". It is certainly possible that the previous contractor over-lifted when they did their repairs. However, the elevations her engineer took before the repairs that we did don't indicate that. Additionally, there are no before and after elevations for the repairs that the bank had performed available for analysis. In conclusion, the customer's assertions are totally incorrect. We not only haven't done anything wrong, we did exactly what her engineer recommended we do. The fact that she has new movement that needs repairs is unfortunate for her, but does not, in any way, reflect negatively on us or the work we did previously. She can either address that movement with additional repairs or not. The choice is hers. Blaming us or anyone else for her misfortune is simply wrong. Despite her libeling us in a public forum, we will continue to honor her warranty.

They did a great job, put everything back and you could not tell anything had been dug up. One caveat though, if they have to dig up your bushes be prepared to replace them. They took excellent care of our shrubs and replanted them, but had warned us ahead of time that a lot of them would not recover from the shock, and they didn't, so be prepared. This was not the company's fault, it happens when you have this type of work done.

We had 17 footers installed. The one thing is that it rained really really hard the morning of. I wondered if they were even going to come. The gentleman called and said "it's raining really hard right now, but my crew is standing by. If it clears up, we will be there." It happened on a Monday. On Sunday night, they called just to remind us that they were coming the next morning. It stopped raining that afternoon. They showed up and worked as much during the day that they could and showed up the next day and finished up the job. They were tidy. Honestly, I never came in contact with the workers because I was at work, but I had my father-in-law here. They knocked on the door to let him know that they were here and then knocked on the door to let my father-in-law that they were leaving. When they were done they cleaned up. There was some extra dirt left over and they asked, "I noticed that you had some low spots in your yard. Do you want us to fill them up or do you want us to haul it off? Your choice." I'm not into foundation repair business, but they came as a reference to me and I felt like the quality of job couldn't have been done any better. Of course, I'm not into foundation repair and don't know the difference, but I felt like they did everything that they were supposed to do. They exceeded my expectation on my part.

It all worked out. They were very good. I had to get some plumbing fixed afterwards but I don't know if it needed to be done before. I have nothing to complain about. They were pretty efficient and got it done. I had it done ages ago and nothing afterward. I got some other estimates earlier, the previous fall and they were much higher. They were reasonable for what they did. They came back and did the deed to get it done. Afterwards I said, you need to bring some dirt out, they came and did it without any problem. Everything that they said they were going to do and when they were going to do it, it got done right so I was pleased. I really like them. I would use them again. They got done more efficiently, faster than they said they would. I was hesitant about the drainage but after they did it, I recommended somebody for that because that's my problem area. I'd recommend them highly. The workers were fine. I had no problem with them. I could communicate with them if I needed to. They told me what they were doing. I confirmed that it was going to rain and they said, we'll get it done, don't worry about it.

Structured brought a work crew on the appointed day and got to work. A great deal of digging both inside and out was required. They got the job done in 5 days. The required pressure test afterward revealed leaks in our plumbing, which we had to contract separately to fix. Getting Structured to come out and retest took a little longer than expected, but eventually they came, consulted with us about an A/C ductwork tear inside the slab, managed to work around that problem, tested their work successfully, advised us on maintenance, and reviewed their lifelong warranty with us. Altogether very good work.

Structured Foundation did an excellent job. They did the initial workup, then had an outside engineer come in and check to make sure they had everything accurate. After the piers were installed, 18 in all, the engineer was called back in to ensure that the work was done correctly. They also had a master plumber come in and make sure no plumbing problems were created as a result of the work. Then of course is the lifetime transferable warranty! I highly recommend Structured Foundation Repair

Bottom line relatively smoothly. Weather problems threatened to delay the work for over two weeks, but they doubled up on the crew to accommodate our schedule. The major problem - from our side of it - was moving three rooms of furniture, etc., to the garage to allow the construction of the three inside piers. Quite a process! But it all worked out in the end.

The work was completed on-time and done well. The crews were considerate and cleaned up after themselves. The repair held even though the house flooded about a year later.
Description of Work: Our house badly needed leveling. They placed ~15 external piers, two internal piers, and four footers under the porch.

Before hiring this company, I had hired an engineer to come assess my home to tell me what exactly I needed. Initially, Structured Foundation Repair gave me a quote of beams and piers and price. informed them of the report details of the engineer and the list of things he said would need to be done. They said that they had done everything in his report. After they finished their work, everything was fine for a small time. After about 6 months and some significant rain, I started to notice that the house was shifting. I developed cracks in my ceilings, walls, and the doors in my house wouldn't open or close because the foundation wasn't secure. I actually got stuck inside of my bedroom! They were unresponsive to calls from both Angie's List and me, to come correct their mistakes. I finally was able to reach them and had the company to come out and re-fix their job. Again, things were fine for a small amount of time, the doors were opening a little better, but then began to go back to how they were initially. As time went on the cracks in the walls were back and growing, along with new ones. My bedroom door didn't close properly again. When they came the second time he informed me that the house's foundation was supposed to move, that in Texas the periods of severe drought and rainfall. After they came out the second time, I had the first engineer come back out to assess their work. He tells me that they made all of the necessary fixes to my foundation and had lied when they told me they'd done everything in his report.
Description of Work: Put in piers and beams in my foundation, secured piers and beams in my foundation.

Response from Structured Foundation Repairs and Roofing Systems
In order to address this customer's complaint, I have established a brief timeline of events that transpired. In September of 2014 the customer contacted Structured Foundation Repairs. She stated that her contractor was doing work on her home and thought she might have a potential foundation problem. Our Structural Analyst visited the home and recommended installing 7 exterior pilings and re-setting/re-shimming the understructure. His proposal included a Third Party Professional Engineers report before and after work. The customer agreed with our proposal and we proceeded by hiring the Third Party Engineer. She felt it was prudent , at that time, to tell us her health issues were are large concern. On October 31, 2014 the Third Party Professional Engineer visited the home and confirmed the repair plan. While he was there he recommended replacing 21 LF of rotten joist and he also recommended installing two footings on the wing wall. Structured contacted the customer, and upon her approval, revised the original proposal. On 11/13/2014 the crew commenced work. During the repairs the crew found an additional 35 LF feet of rotten joist, which was replaced at no cost to the customer. The crew also discovered that the footings recommended by the Engineer would not be sufficient to support the wing wall, so full piers were pushed instead (again at no charge to the customer). In August of 2015 the customer called Structured stating she had doors sticking and small cracks. A warranty analyst was sent to her home and he stated that "the homeowner was concerned about her bedroom door sticking and hairline cracks on the left side of her home. I could see where the door was rubbing before, but today the elevations were all level and the door worked fine. I tried to explain that doing anything would make things worse." The homeowner again expressed concerns over her health affecting her memory. We did not hear from the customer again until November 2015 when she called our office to say she had hired another third party Engineer and wanted us to re-evaluate the foundation. We set an appointment for our Field Superintendent and the customer no-showed him. We set another appointment for the end of December. Our Field Superintended concurred with several of the finding of the Professional Engineer and scheduled the repairs to be completed at no- charge. The crew finished those repairs in February 2016. After speaking with Angies List this week they informed me that the customer opened a complaint in November of 2015, they were unable to reach her and the complaint was abandoned in December because the customer never got back with them. The customer opened another complaint with Angies List by submitting this review in August of 2016 but again the complaint was abandoned on August 31 because they did not receive a response when they tried to reach the customer. The events in the customers review vary significantly from the timeline and documents we possess in our digital and physical records. We are concerned about the accuracy of the customer's recollection of events and the effect they have on our reputation.
