On a Friday night I noticed that a three way light switch was making an arching sound, which I knew was not good. I did not want to try to change the switch myself, so I called Vanguard. Even though it was the weekend, Vanguard offers an emergency service and it was worth the slightly higher cost for me to have them come out immediately on the emergency basis to have the piece of mind to know the switch was fixed and there would not be a house fire. An electrician arrived promptly and communication was great, letting me know when to expect him. Fixing the issue ended up not being as simple of a fix as changing the switch, but he was very knowledgable and knew how to trouble shoot and solved the problem in short order. He was very professional and personable and I felt entirely comfortable having him in my home. The price was also extremely fair. I would use Vanguard again on an emergency basis or otherwise without hesitation. I have also received quotes from the owner, SD, for larger projects and it is always a pleasure working with him and his company.

They were very fast. Their website says a 2 hour response time and they definitely met that mark. Dont be afraid to ask them why the price is what they quote you. I have had electricians stumble over the answer as to why a price is high in my opinion. They make all kinds of excuses. The service tech was nice and upfront. He told me they are a flat fee company and their electricians aren't on commission like other companies. I always give contractors or service techs a drink while they are working. It seems to put them in a good mood and I like it when people working in or around my house are trustworthy. I am going to add some kitchen cabinet lighting and some pendant lighting. I will 100% use Vanguard to install these for me. I didn't have time at the moment but the service tech offered a FREE safety home inspection. I received an estimate upfront and once the work was complete - the bill matched the estimate. The technician was on time and prefessional. I am very pleased with the work.
