The tech spent 2 1/2 hours trying to figure out what was wrong with my GE wall oven (it is 10 years old). After 2 1/2 hours, the tech was going to go back to the shop and discuss the issue with the owner. I was told they would call me back. The tech left a message that night that said they were still thinking about it. By the end of the next day I still hadn't heard from them. I called them back and the tech suggested I buy a new oven. He wasn't sure what was wrong with it. I called GE Appliances they came out the next week and figured out what was wrong within 1 hour and ordered parts. GE installed the parts the following week and the oven is now working fine. After GE fixed the oven I called and spoke with Allison and asked for a refund. Allison was surprised that I had the oven fixed and stated that they are still thinking about what to do with my oven. No one had called me in the last 10 days and even said they were still working on a solution. Allison asked me to fax her my GE receipt before she would consider a refund. I faxed the receipt the same day. After three (3) business days and no response from this company I called Allison again to see if she would consider my refund. She told me that Gary (owner) called me last week but I never received a call or voicemail. Allison basically said she wasn't going to refund my money but told me that Gary would call and discuss the situation. After this headache, I told her she needed the $125 more than me and to just keep it. I am still waiting for Gary to call and I think I can say good-bye to my $125. It cost me $403.88 to have GE fix my oven and it is working great. I certainly won't recommend this company to anybody.

"I just spent an hour typing my response to this and before I could submit it the sight kicked me off, so I will try again. When we receive a complaint about a shocking appliance, we immediately go into a discovery mode to determine any and all electrical issues within the appliance. My technicians worked diligently and not only found multiple wiring issues within the oven but also issues with the electrical service itself. After repairing the wiring problems in the oven, they proceeded to determine which controls were defective causing the oven to malfunction. The technician called me and stated that the oven wiring is in poor condition and that he was trying to pinpoint which control unit was malfunctioning, at that time the member had asked them to leave because he had an appointment. We did extensive research on this particular oven and found that there were many control issues and substitute exchange parts for this problem. Most companies just say replace 'em all and let the consumer pay for it. We generally like to know for sure what component is malfunctioning and replace only that part. In our discovery, the suggested repair costs were reaching a diminishing return of upwards of $500 on an 11 YEAR OLD OVEN. After conversing with my technician, my 40 YEAR PROFESSIONAL OPINION, in the member's BEST INTEREST was to put that money towards a new product. We offered to help him find a new oven, he chose to call GE service to get another opinion, all well and good. We spent quality time on his oven, made several wiring repairs before we could even start diagnosing the problem, we have pictures. The average life of appliances built these days is 5-7 years and 10 years at a high. Given the FACT that the wiring inside of the member oven was in poor condition, we advised him to not repair it, and spend his money wisely. GE service sold him all of his electrical controls and I am sure that the techinician made a nice commission on his job. There was also one dual element that had one side out that was not replaced, still not having the unit completely repaired. The member called our office and in our attempts to resolve this situation, there were rude and condescending remarks made toward our company. Alison had suggested that I call him to make ammends. I am just recovering from a fevered bug so I am responding to this as promptly as possible. The member has already slandered my company and threatened all sorts of hateful and slanderous actions against my livelyhood. I am willing to refund $50 of his $125. We did what he had asked us to do, the fact that he did not take my professional advice is his choice. He still has an 11 YEAR OLD OVEN that may or may not give him another year of safe service. I am deeply sorrowed because of this situation, I apologize to the member and wish him well on his journey. Once I get an approval from the member for his $50 refund, I will do so promptly."

I knew the air conditioner at the house was old and needed to be replaced soon. Of course, on a day that it was 105 and I had family visiting from California, the air conditioner stopped working. David came out the next morning and made repairs... just to keep the old unit running until a new one could be installed. I have a difficult work schedule, but they worked around that and installed the new unit at a time that was convenient for me. They could have sold me a more expensive unit, but David was very honest, and told me I really didn't need it.
