I contracted to have 3 Alarm Movers perform move out services on July 18, 2017. The movers arrived on time and were very courteous and professional for the majority of the time. We have a side-by-side refrigerator that is too large to fit through the doorways of our home. When delivered by Nebraska Furniture Mart, the only way to get it inside was to remove the side-by-side doors to prevent any damage. Upon the mover’s arrival, we were attempting to remove the doors ourselves & were told by the moving team that it was not necessary and they could do for us. After all other furniture had been loaded onto the truck; the last item was the fridge. We again repeated to the team multiple times that the doors had to be removed (& reminded them that this was not our opinion, but in fact, based on the initial delivery made by professionals hired to specifically move kitchen appliances). However, the team insisted that they could do it without removing the doors and proceeded to try multiple styles to get the fridge to fit. During these attempts, the fridge was placed on & off a dolly multiple times from both sides. When the fridge was moved from the kitchen into the living room, after a 30 minute struggle, we noticed there were two deep scratches on both the left & right sides of the unit. The moving team insisted these were already there & must have been left by the Nebraska Furniture Mart delivery team. As we knew this was not the case(bc we inspected the unit at NFM install), we inspected the dolly used & noticed a significant size hole in the moving blanket at a weld point on the dolly. The weld point on the metal framed dolly had torn a hole on both sides of the dolly due to repeated friction. Due to this part of the dolly not being protected, the rough metal scratched the fridge. One can only assume that all dollies were covered with a moving blanket to protect the furniture & items placed on the dolly from being scratched, as the dolly is a hard metal frame. After normal wear & tear, it is understandable that this metal may become scratchy and rough, thus wearing through the moving blankets. However, continued use of a dolly with clearly worn through holes in the protective moving blanket is careless. The oversight & negligence of using a damaged dolly as part of the move was the direct cause of the damage to our refrigerator. When we pointed out the deep scratches to the moving team they continued to insist that the damage was not caused by them, to the extent of saying it was no way possible & ignoring the clearly unprotected area of the dolly that was used. The tone used was quite rude & very unprofessional. Before they continued moving the fridge, we compared the deep scratch heights & the torn spot on the moving blanket covering the dolly, & they were within a 1/2 inch from each other. Also, the scratches matched the side of the dolly that had the torn weld point. Pictures of each side of the fridge were taken while they were still in the living room with the fridge. They then proceeded to remove the doors, because after 30-45min of struggling to move it, they finally decided to listen to our initial advice to remove both doors. At the time of delivery to our storage unit/unloading the truck, we attempted to take pictures of the dolly that caused the damage and once again was given attitude by the moving team. In conclusion, we filed a claim with the company, which was followed up by a request to see the damaged refrigerator. Only problem was that they had moved our stuff into a storage facility & the very first thing they unloaded was the refrigerator. After receiving the claim, the owner sounded & acted as if they were in the wrong & they would accept responsibility for the damages, but they ended up only paid us $167 and change (Yes, exact change) at $.60 per pound(req by TX law). The most frustrating part about it all is that the fridge wasn't even a year old & is now permanently damaged & they continue to falsely advertise their "highest standards of service" for your valuables.

I have used 3 Alarm movers three times in my time here in Dallas (since 2/2006). Each time, the movers were quick and careful with my things and my time. I've never had an issue- all the movers were polite and efficient. I will use them again in the future.
