In February I had water dripping from the breakfast area ceiling through one of the recessed lights due to a small leak in the upstairs bathroom. I called various contractors from Angie’s List and while I picked one vendor to fix the leak, Will’s All Pro had offered a free service for thermal imaging that would evaluate the water damage in the ceiling which I took advantage of as well. The contractor sent by Will’s All Pro provided a verbal estimate to my father who was standing in for me that day and had indicated he’d call me to discuss. I reached out to request a formal estimate to Will’s All Pro to find that they were not providing the service, but one of their sub contractor companies were: QD Restoration. After providing me the contact info I called QD Restoration (assuming highly rated Wills All Pro backed up this company), received the estimate and approved to move forward with repairing of sheet rock, drying of cavity and restoring sheet rock and drywall removed as part of the repair. I have very high ceilings and the contractors came in on March 30th with a tall ladder none of them knew how to use. My dad ended up setting it up for them. They indicated that the extent of the damage was not as bad as originally indicated and ultimately the area cut out was approximately 2.5 x 2 feet. Regardless they left various machines in place for drying out the area and since it was Friday they left it over the weekend. On Monday, 2 April no one came and I had to call to get ahold of them. They said they weren’t working that day but we could turn off machines. On Tuesday, 3 April, a contractor came without an appropriate ladder, said it was too high and left. Then on Wednesday, 4 April they finally removed all the equipment. To note the machines were extremely noisy and had been running over 72 hours and no one had reached out…we had to call to get feedback on what was next and the ceiling was still not repaired. One week later, on 9 April after calling multiple numbers I had for QD restoration I finally reached someone who told me they’d call yet another subcontractor and gave me the number for me to try as well. When I finally reached the latest contractor in this process, who was to repair the ceiling, he said he’d come on the 11th but he didn’t show up. We called again and he said it would be the next day. The next day he arrived with no knowledge of the issue, he didn’t know how high the ceiling was and that he’d come again in another week to fix the ceiling on 17 April. That same day we received an invoice for the original estimated amount!!! Even when the work was not completed and the damage was much smaller than originally estimated! They sent the invoice to my dad even when I indicated multiple times that I was the owner and each time I spoke to someone it was someone different who didn’t have the details of the work. Ultimately the contractor never showed up and after almost a month of endless calls to multiple subcontractors I cancelled the remaining work. All I received was a dishonest apology; “I’m sorry about that, here’s your bill”. The charges reduced were a joke and QD Restoration did absolutely nothing to demonstrate good service. I was charged $1300 to make a ~2x2 foot hole in my ceiling and leave 3 machines over the weekend which was likely unnecessary but no one bothered to check on them. They’re irresponsible, take no accountability, overcharge and do not communicate well among their own contractors. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
