My home was abandoned for three weeks. It was left unwrapped and exposed to elements. One week it rained between 6-8 inches. My husband climbed up on the roof during the storms trying to shield the chimney from damage. It was the worst experience I have ever had with any contractor. Big John said he couldn't get the home on our lot because there was water in the drainage ditches. He said he had to have a crew. He never would come out to look at our lot in advance. He said because we already had a 16X 80 on the lot and each half of our mobile was no longer or wider than that, it wouldn't be a problem. My husband told him the turns on the road were pretty tight, but he still refused. He used those same turns as an excuse when the day finally came. He told me in a conversation on the phone that it was hard to find good people around here for his crew....blah, blah, they drug and drink ..whatever. He was repeatedly on other jobs when he would promise to move our mobile home, but then wouldn't ever show up. Then he'd say he couldn't do it because the ground was too wet, yet he was always on other jobs. I could write a book about this whole experience. I discovered after the fact that he didn't appear to have insurance when he moved us. Thought it was also weird the way on the day they unblocked the home, the first driver showed up, pulled have the home from the other half, but then said something about having to come back the next day to pull the home. This driver then proceeded to drive all the way back home 150 plus miles only to return the next day....very weird...why didn't he just pulll half the house since he was going that way anyway and diesel isn't cheap...wonder if he was driving illegally and needed Big John so he could drive behind him..hmmmm. When they did finally pull both halves, it was at night and only part way. Big John hit construction barrel after construction barrel. It was nuts. They stayed at a truck stop and pulled the house to the other truck stop a mile down the road from my lot where they abandoned it. Horrible.
Description of Work: We paid Big John 6K in cash to move our mobile home to our lot. He abandoned it at a truck stop, lied to us repeatedly about his intentions to move our home. Damaged it while moving it, ruined the roof by driving speeds in excess of 65MPH for 150 miles. He hit a power line and ripped off the chimney, Sky light flew off and the bathroom ceiling is a mess.
