All phases of the operation were very well done - office manager who handled calls and appointments, the on-site supervisor and the three workers who performed the work. All real professionals. I could not have been more pleased.

Weeds and debris were cleared. Soil and sod were installed. Gardens, mulch, weed fabric and borders were installed. Had to file a complaint with Angies List to get contractor to come back to fix problem areas. He did. There were some areas that upon final completion, after the complaint was resolved that we didn't feel were up to an A rating. Angies List permits an A or B review following a complaint resolution so the B rating is indicative of a good job that we felt could have been completed at a higher level.

I am well satisfied with the service provided. The crew was punctual and efficient. Johnny, the owner, is personable and knowledgeable; he is willing to give and take suggestions. The yard turned out looking better than I expected; I am very pleased with the results.

Gentleman from the business did not have any working knowledge of the plants he would be dealing with, and found his landscaping suggestions to be counter-productive to what I wanted done. He also ignored a few of the requests I made, and put in the estimate some of the thins I ad asked him to leave out.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It went well. I hired them to do some additional yard work. They were very professional and helpful.

Jonny and Ryan showed up at the time they promised. Jonny came and gave a detailed explanation of the work that would be performed and what the cast would be. On the day of the scheduled work, both men were there and had all the equipment necessary to change out the lights and reset some of the lights we wanted changed. Jonny answered all my questions, made some very good suggestions for setting the lighting and the house looks terrific. We are so glad we called Blades of Glory and we can highly recommend this company for anyone looking to light up a house to give it that special look.

Scheduling the free estimate appointment with Alisa wasn't just painless, it was pleasant. Johnny called to let me know he was running 5 minutes late outside the 30 minute window they had given me. He arrived, listened patiently as I described my goals, and we discussed several options. He measured the area, took some pictures, and promised a rough plan and estimates for two different stages of work within three business days. The plan and estimates were actually delivered the next business day, and after review, Johnny and company bent over backwards tweaking the plans and estimates to get exactly what I wanted to see down on paper. A crew of three workman showed up on the first day of work and immediately began tearing out old overgrown evergreen bushes, a thick ivy groundcover, old brick pavers, an old brick border, pruning a sago palm gone wild, and removing lots of other green mass and historical artifacts. The crew confirmed that I wanted every removed (except for the palm), to which I answered yes (even though part of the plan was to transplant two trees that had been planted too close to the house.) Johnny arrived a little later to check on the work, and saw that the workers had already ripped out the trees. Johnny immediately offered to provide replacement trees at no additional cost to cover the error. By the end of the first day, the crew had completely removed the entire overgrown area, including the root systems of the major bushes, had completely relaid the brick work, installed a new stone and mortar border that matched the house, laid dirt and river rock, pruned the palm, and set the weed barrier in place. All the green refuse had been hauled away, and the rest of the debris was piled up neatly. Since less material was used than originally planned, the company resent a revised estimate for less money. On the second day, the crew extended the bed to cover a bare area in the yard, blended into the original bed, planted and mulched the new plants, planted the two new trees, laid and set up the lighting system, and completely cleaned the area. Johnny then called me to do the walkthrough. Because fewer plants were used than in the original estimate, they revised the work order again to reflect the work that was actually down, saving me about $350 total. Johnny finished by providing me care instructions for the new landscaping, and operating instructions for the lighting system. Johnny and Alisa were incredibly friendly, prompt, and professional in each and every dealing with them.

There were many issues with scheduling. The owner did come out and did an assessment months ago, but it always seemed like they were booked whenever we wanted them to come out.

Prompt response to my initial inquiry. Scheduled and performed the job quickly. Worked with me to utilize materials that I had collected to build the wall and provided additional materials needed. Good work performed in a timely manner at a reasonable price.

Absolute life saver! Emailed the company in desperation when our regular lawn service quit two days before we closed on the sale of our house. Johnny responded right away even though we were moving there would be no chance of recurring service. He sent Manuel over that same afternoon. Manuel did a superb job weeding and trimming so the yard look great in time for the final walk through. They were professional, courteous and the most responsive lawn service ever used. Wish we found them long ago. Thank you!!!

To the untrained, this would have been a huge job, but the workers came out and leveled the mound, hauled off the debris and smoothed out the remaining dirt. There were three men with a backhoe, picks and shovels and they went to work right away. They took very few breaks, even in this hot weather, and they completed the job in one day. I was contacted by Blades of Glory a couple of days prior asking if they could come out a few days earlier than planned to get this job started. I was really pleased that they went ahead and did that, not making me wait until the day we had actually scheduled. I would recommend them for all of your landscaping needs. Johnny Garcia and his staff were very professional and very nice. It was a pleasure working with them. I have several other yard projects I want to get done and Blades of Glory will be who I call. The owner is really good about getting back to you with quotes, and he's good about doing what he said he would do. Also, he's knowledgeable and he gives options on what to work with.

I would definitely hire Blades of Glory again! Great attention to detail, professionalism, and wonderful work! Johnny and his company landscaped my one acre lot that was scraped bare by my builder. Doug came and and drew up plans perfectly. Johnny and his men came out and planted tons of plants, a lot of sod, some trees, a rock garden and an irrigation system. I could not be happier with their work.

It was great. They were really friendly and they worked pretty quickly. They were there about three days. They were there when I woke up in the morning and they were still there late in the evening, so they worked pretty hard and got the job done relatively quickly.

I can tell you this. ..I will never use another landscape company. Just a great experience from the get go. I was uneasy at first because I didn't know exactly what I wanted and Johnny heard all my ideas..as outlandish as they might have been, and went to work. He explained the process in which we were about to undergo. We agreed on a price and he put me in his schedule. He and His crew showed up on our schedule date and they got after it. They finished a day earlier than anticipated which was impressive considering the project size. We stuck to the budget and he never approached me with a charge more, even though I know he could have due to some changes I made. He said, don't worry about it just remember me when you start your backyard. We certainly will be using Blades of Glory for all our future landscaping projects.

There was a huge pile of dirt that needed to be moved. The owner of the company left two workers to shovel and wheel barrow the dirt to the garden. It was very disorganized, and I felt that if the owner would have provided the correct equipment for his workers, more could have been accomplished, as it was there was a lot of standing around waiting for the owner to bring enough men to work and if there had of been a small front end loader, more could have been accomplished. Come to find out the owner had the equipment but he just "forgot" to bring to my job. So even though I paid for x number of hours, I never felt like I got the full benefit of the hours I paid for.

work was started a day early and finished up a day later than originally expected due to rain delays. Johnny was very responsive to even the slightest detail that I pointed out on things I didn't quite like. The end result looks great. The workers did a great job keeping the mess to a minimum and cleaned up everything at completion.

Communication was prompt prior to scheduling bid. Johnny very honest and provides an accurate bid. Honest about scheduling and was on time. Materials used were nice and he actually used some of the natural stones already in my yard to make a border which I thought was a nice touch and creative. Multiple visits required to finish work, but the end product is very nice, level and exactly to my specifications and expectations. I will use again in the future without hesitation.

We purchased an Angie's List coupon in the amount of $599 for 8 hours of labor for Blades of Glory Landscaping. Johnny Garcia came out and looked over the area in our yard and discussed what we had in mind to replace the grass area. Johnny is a very polite, professional young man, and he spent quite a bit of time discussing our options with us. After receiving a few estimates for various options, we scheduled the work for 6/18. The day before we met Johnny at the materials supplier to make sure we liked what would be installed. Johnny and three workers showed up as scheduled on 6/18 and the work was completed by 4:00 p.m. We noticed that one small area had not been completed as we had expected, I called Johnny, and he sent his guys back to finish it within an hour. They did a wonderful job and the area that was previously grass looks great. The only minor issue we had was punctuality when we were to meet at the materials supplier. Johnny was almost an hour late because he forgot they had changed the time. I am positive it would not happen again. We plan to use Blades of Glory on other landscaping projects in the future.

The guy keep continually cared about the outcome and wanted to make me happy which matters to me. He is not sort of the specialist I guess but to do things that are is his will house I think that he did a fine job but if you wanted somebody that was gonna do serious design work and the real quarter culturist or arborist type work then I don’t think he’s that guy.

I emailed the company (via their website, not via Angie's list). I had an inquiry about installing a basic backyard - just topsoil and sod, and asked about what a ballpark figure would be for them to do it. I provided the approx size of my backyard. I never got a reply. That is one thing that immediately sours me on a company.

They did a very good job but apparently they had so much business to do so it took awhile. I will certainly recommend their work but if somebody wanted something done quickly then they are not the right person to call. They were slow but did a very good work. They have good email communication as well.

Blades of Glory Landscaping And Lawncare were really good. They were on time. The estimate they provided was accurate. The sod they laid was high quality. By looking at how the grass looks right now, they did a great job. They knew what they doing. The laid down a base underneath the sod and it really helped it to grow.
