Description of Work: Paid to have a kitchen design done. The guy was nice, friendly and accommodating. But he was new at design, didn't really know how to use his new design software, and was unable to send me the design other than an unusable screenshot in an email. Not a bad deal if we would have gotten what we paid for. Ultimately he is just not ready to provide this service until he can easily navigate his own tools.

Description of Work: Handyman type tasks like replacing boards on the exterior of the house, etc.

Description of Work: 1900s house with an added kitchen area (1950s). A challenge to say the least, with shifting soils and uneven floors / walls. Renters moved out and 'forgot' to tell me that the roof was leaking for months. Major damage in the large kitchen area. Maenner repaired the roof (he is not a roofer, but did that repair for me, as it was not a total roof job), repaired all the water damage in the ceiling, replacing not only the damaged areas in the attic, but also the ceiling. Remodeled the kitchen including new cabinets, counter tops and floors. In the rest of the house he did a complete bathroom remodel (it, too, had a leak they didn't inform me of), removed nasty carpet and replaced floors, Did work on some of the windows and damaged siding, arranged to have over hanging trees removed, repaired / repainted a storage shed. He is not the cheapest company in town, but if you want work that is done right, an honest approach and opinion on what needs to be done, and a reliable company, Maenner is for you. I now use him for all my local rental repairs!

Description of Work: Renters wrecked a beautiful old, pre-1900 Victorian style house. Left it covered with trash, spray painted wall, holes in the floors, trashed bathroom. Hired Maenner and his team. Total clean up, repaired all the damages, redid floors, kitchen, bathroom, Repainted inside house. Replaced beautiful porches. Tore down and disposed of old sheds on property. It was an expensive job but worth every penny. His work is outstanding, and I never felt like I was being ripped off. He discussed all the unexpected hiccups you find in an old house, giving me options on the ways to fix /replace. He came up with some very creative ideas for some hard 'fixes'. He has vision!

Description of Work: Remodel duplex. I bought a dilapidated duplex that was built before 1900 (built as single residence, converted to duplex probably in the 1950s). I was a total gut job. Maenner leveled the house, gutted the inside, saw the possibilities of moving a couple walls and other issues that made the house more functional. All new walls, remodeled bathrooms and kitchens, built a new closet space, redid most of the old wood floors -a couple of areas were just not restorable and he tiled those areas (kitchens, laundry, bathrooms), redid porch (new wood, columns) and built two new decks. Outside with new siding. New windows, refinished the old doors.He hired subs for plumbing, electric and HVAC as per city requirements. It was amazing and both sides were rented within a couple of weeks and have stayed rented.

Description of Work: Remodeled a bathroom that needed a shower replaced. The previous work had been done by someone i would never use again (and have had problems with that contractor's work since then). However, when Maenner came in to replace the shower, they found that due to substandard work in the past, the entire bathroom floor had to be replaced! They were able to not only do that work, but then replaced the shower, fixed the toilet and tiled the entire floor. I was extremely pleased that they identified unexpected problems and fixed them, along with initial plan to replace the shower. After this experience, I began to exclusively use this company on my rentals.
