The Purple Fig Cleaning Co.
About us
We are a local, green cleaning company employing 5 people. We are bonded and insured and handle both residential and commercial clients. All of our cleaners speak English. There is a trip fee of $.505/mile for clients more than 10 miles from our centrally located office at 6th and Mopac. We have a 2 hr rate of $90+tax and a 3 hr rate of $125+tax. After 3 hrs our rate is $40/hr. Each hour is a people-hour, so if two people are at a home for 2 hours, that is 4 total hours. We provide all supplies except a toilet brush. We use top of the line cleaning tools including Dyson vacuum cleaners, microfiber cloths and Bona for wood and stone floors. For initial cleans we have a 74 point checklist of items cleaned. A checklist is left after each cleaning with any details from the clean. After this initial clean, our cleaners clean based on a combination of client preferences and clients' budget/time constraints. We also have our own line of green cleaning products that can be purchased on our website and will soon be in stores around Austin. Mention you heard about us through Angie's List and get 10% off your first cleaning.

The kitchen (counters, microwave, cabinets, etc) and the bathrooms (toilets, showers) looked good. However, they weren't going to vacuum under the couch cushions until I asked, and then never got under the couches or any of the other furniture. The windowsills had not been touched and there were still cobwebs under our wood stove. Also, we had ordered the "Deep Eddy" clean which includes the baseboards and those obviously hadn't been done. The supervisor had to call back in the last employee to help finish up.
I was charged for the "Deep Eddy" but after speaking with the company about my concerns, which the supervisor recognized, they dropped the fee to the "Barton Springs" lower level cleaning rate (also offered to come back and finish but I didn't want that). Regular services would incur additional discounts, but I haven't decided if I will continue with them yet. I liked their willingness to rectify the issues, but I think their prices are a little high for primarily kitchens, bathrooms, and floors.
