The moving team (Ramiro, William and Richard) arrived on time and immediately went to work. We began at 8am sharp and by noon we were loaded and on our way to the new home (95 miles distance). They were finished and returning to LA by approx. 5pm. The team wrapped all furniture carefully with both plastic wrap and blankets and there was no damage to anything. (a FIRST after several previous moves with other companies). In fact, they were probably more careful with my furniture than I would have been! They packed everything so there could be no possibility of load shifting en route... and everything arrived perfectly. The only giltch... and it was minor... was the "follow-up" call I received during the weekend prior to the move. The person who called to confirm the details of the move... didn't know where I was moving... nor how many square feet were in my home. Though I had gone over this in detail in my initial email to their office (requesting a quote)... and then again with the estimators who came to prepare the quote... this follow-up caller seemed completely unaware that any such communication had already taken place. The call was frustrating... having to repeat everything as if the company hadn't already been told any of these details. That created a bit of anxiety as I didn't know what information would be lost between that call and the day of my move. However... the team that actually did the work was fantastic... and I had no cause to worry. NorthStar Moving is highly recommended!!

The packing went very well. Moving day as well was a breeze. They moved our stuff cross country into another storage facility so I do not know the extent of what might be damaged but I can tell you they broke my grandmother's antique table, several wardrobe boxes were crushed and there was some scratches on other pieces. Not pleased with the damage so far.

PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN RESOLVED TO MY SATISFACTION While Day 1 (Packing Day) seemed great at the time, I have to change my assessment after realizing the full impact of the quake and aftershocks. They asked that I review them on Yelp before they left that day. First: One of the girls who packed us up was working sick. She claimed to not be contagious, but my whole family was sick several days later, and barely better for Christmas. Holiday prep was not fun with that nasty cold. Don't work sick!! Next: A different team of five guys came on Day 2 to move the stuff that was supposed to have been packed on Day 1. Well, after a 15-hour day (I lived a normal life-3 Bedroom, 2 1/2 bath, small alcove office, total 1400 sf), they still didn't have everything packed into the truck. I knew that the Day 1 crew didn't pack liquids for whatever liability reason they have, but I didn't realize they had missed whole cabinets--lesson learned: do a THOROUGH walkthrough before you let anyone ever go!! My husband and I have had to make four trips with two SUV's PLUS ask a friend with a pickup to help me out because they didn't take ANYTHING from the two upstairs bathrooms (I had to bring that on our actual moving day, since the truck just left without it), they left a (packed in acid-free boxes by me ahead of time) valuable antique doll collection on closet shelves, none of my small garden tools, and not a single potted plant--I only wanted to bring a couple--plus loads of other serveware and kitchen and garage items. What if I were moving across country, or not keeping the old house? I'd be completely up a creek!! Third: Five pieces of furniture, including the small upright piano, two dressers, and the refrigerator (the freezer handle will never work properly again), have serious gouges and scratches. None individually qualifies for insurance reimbursement since I selected a $1000 deductible, not realizing that the $1000 wasn't an aggregate number, but for each item damaged. Finally: As soon as I got through some of the work and realized the magnitude of North Star's mediocrity and borderline incompetence for this move, I called the company and spoke to a representative to explain what happened and ask that they at least refund the overtime charges, if not apply a modest discount retroactively. He promised to call the next business day, which would have been Monday, Feb 8. Here's what I've heard: CRICKETS. Nothing. Zip. Nada. I've shared this review on Yelp as well. I'm disappointed beyond belief. Not to mention it's back to the drawing board to find a good mover for our office.

NorthStar moving helped us out so much on the move! The movers arrived promptly to our place just as expected and were ready to help move our stuff into the truck. They had the proper tools and additional boxes to help pack the remaining items. Our furniture and delicate pieces were wrapped very nice and protected from any damage. Nothing was broken or lost in our move and was very pleased with the work ethic of the movers. There was no downtime or lag on the movers and they wanted to get the job done as soon as possible. I would highly recommend this company to all my family members and friends in the future. I have never used a moving company before but I found the best one on the first try! This is my 4th move with North Star and we will use in again in a few months for our final move during our remodeling. Gil, the estimator, gives us excellent estimates and we always have come under cost. The Yelp and Angie's list coupons help. The movers are careful, pleasant, and just overall awesome. On this last move, we no scratches and dents in our furniture or our paint. Thanks to Miguel, Alfonso, Jimmy, and Antonio. Miguel put our beds together in no time and the guys move swiftly to put out house together end even help with our washer/dryer. We definitely will again for our final move. We recommend highly North Star.

We downsized from a large home to a smaller condo. Danny, Steven and David arrived on time and worked long and hard. They were always courteous and respectful to us and to our possessions. They went above and beyond on our move. They were great and we would use them again.

The mover's were awesome. There was small mix up due to the Angie's App but the moving company handled it professionally. Would absolutely use them again. By the way I have STILL not heard from an Angie's rep. Maybe they could learn something from this vendor on customer service.

Move went very smoothly. Every interaction with the company was extremely professional. Our move team of Randy Chicas, Xavier, German, and Wilbur did an excellent job and showed up right on time.

Took a little longer than expected because of space problems in the new condo. However, it was not really the company's fault. They DID scratch up the hardwood floors, but they offered a discount as a result. They were reasonable and professional. I would use them again.

I had a great move with this moving company. It started with the fact that the guys showed up on time. They called me an hour before they arrived just to let me know they are coming and then they showed up in the beginning of the two hour window the office gave me when I made my reservation with the company. I never had that kind of an experience with a moving company before. This was a great start for the day. After they parked the moving truck, the foreman took the time to have everyone in his group introduced by name and they all shook my hand like real gentlemen, very polite and pleasant and it put my mind at ease right away. It really stood up, as the expectation from a moving company is to be the opposite of that. It is the little things that make the difference, and I really appreciated it. They did a very good and fast job for me. There was not too much to move but they worked hard and did a really good job. The bill came up to what I thought it would be, nice not to have surprises there. Overall a very good experience and I will use them again in a heartbeat.

Great Service from NorthStar! David Martinez, Martin and Orlando were very professional and careful with handling everything. They were the best! My move was from the West coast to the East coast, they arrived a day early and Valdimer did a great job unpacking on this end. Overall it was a pleasant experience from the first call to NorthStar. I would highly recommend NorthStar to anyone making a move , you will be in good hands. Thank you NorthStar for making my move painless.

The three guys - George/Jorge, Kevin, and CJ, were great. They hustled, were polite and friendly took care with each item and with the walls, doorways,etc., and George communicated well with me at every step of the way. There was a small miscommunication with the office about the timing. I was given the choice of arrival times - either 8-10 or 9-11. I chose 8-10, my confirmation email said 9-11. I called their office and was told it would indeed be 9-11. On the day, the movers called at 7:30 to say they'd be there at 8. We split the difference and made it 8:30), but other than that all went smoothly. Thanks guys, for making our move a smooth one. Hire these three guys!

It went great! These guys are incredibly good at what they do. James and the rest of the guys on the crew were so nice to have helping us on a day that can be very stressful, they made it so easy. They arrived right on time and immediately got to work. Everyone on the crew was friendly, accommodating, and worked very efficiently. They were very careful with each and every one of my belongings and took the time to make sure everything would be protected in transit. They took great care of all of my furniture, carefully wrapped all edges, and were very thoughtful when moving things throughout my home. Everything was loaded and unloaded from the trucks with the same excellent care. Even booking the appointment was easy. The people at their office and dispatchers were very easy to work with (not pushy in the slightest) and were helpful with getting me the right service that I needed. They made great recommendations and made sure that I was getting the best deal possible for my situation. They even have great coupons and discounts available through Angie's List. I would recommend using these guys to anyone. I was shopping around quite a bit and their prices are as good or better than any other company I spoke with, and their service is truly unmatched. I could not have had a better experience with NorthStar Moving Co.

Great! Guillermo, Ruben and Venancio moved my wife and I from our three bedroom in Azusa to Baldwin Park in five hours. Hustled the whole way and were very careful with our furniture. Saved 150 with the $50 Angie's List deal. Will definitely use them again.

This was an estate move and we were not local to the property area. We also had a finite amount of time to clear out and clean the house before we could have movers inside to pack us out. From the very beginning, The NorthStar Moving Team was very professional. Alan, the estimator showed up on time to walk through and inventory the items to be shipped to the separate locations. When the items changed location due to communications with one of the recipients, he was very helpful and prompt in revising the estimates. Wendy and her team were exceptional, very professional, and courteous in all of our telephone and email interactions. Wendy was very helpful finding us an alternative for moving insurance to each shipping location. She even interfaced directly with the insurance representative on a Saturday to ensure our property was covered for the move. Eduardo and his team of packers, were also prompt, professional and courteous. They worked tirelessly to thoroughly and carefully pack and wrap our items to protect them during shipping. Even when we encountered a change to the priority of shipping locations, they remained professional and continued into the evening to complete one location. Once the issue was resolved between the recipient and ourselves, (no fault of NorthStar), he and his team returned the next day to pack out the other location. At all times they were professional and courteous. The shipments arrived on time and in great shape, again the movers were professional and courteous. They called to notify us when they were 24 hours out and scheduled a delivery time. they also worked tirelessly in the rain to unload and unpack the furniture items. Wendy has remained in contact working through the final closeout of our contracts, and as always is professional and courteous on the telephone and emails. The NorthStar Moving Team is who I would choose for my next move. A+++ rating in my book.

Jorge G., Kevin, Jimmy, and Vinny were very professional and hardworking. Jorge was the team leader and he called me while they were on their way to give me an accurate arrival time. When they arrived, they each introduced themselves prior to the work beginning. They worked quickly and efficiently, and made sure to ask questions when something wasn't clear. They finished quicker than was originally estimated, and this was clearly a reflection of Jorge's leadership. Jorge and his team were very organized and friendly, and I would definitely recommend this company and, specifically, this group.

Arrived on time, packed things carefully. They stored my stuff at their storage facility overnight in the truck. Met me the next day in San Diego and unpacked everything. Very professional, very careful with my things.

We wanted to keep costs to an absolute minimum. The home advisor gave us great tips on ways we could reduce costs by pre-packing the home ourselves. Our move could easily have cost around $4,000 if we had the movers do all the packing. But we used our old boxes and packing material that we had kept in storage. We also rented a u-haul the day before to move garage items out (less than $50), which allowed their team to only make one trip since they would have had to make two trips. It was a lot of work on our part, but it kept the costs down. Since it was a local move, under 5 miles, we didn't feel the need to pay for insurance either. Thanks to the advice we were given up front by the move advisor, we were able to stay under budget. Movers did a great job, so we made sure to tip them well for doing all the heavy lifting and rough moving we couldn't do ourselves!
