They gouged the paint on my hood and tried to cover it up with touch up paint and not say anything about it that I had to remove before is bonded to the original paint on the hood of the truck. They physically bent the metal windshield frame hence the new windshield will not seat properly. They broke the first FORD OEM windshield they brought out. When I brought these discrepancies to the attention of the HOT HEADED technician whom damaged my truck he became angry, used threatening language and walked off the job leaving me with no windshield and a damaged truck I am not able to use for work. I do not wish this type service to fall onto another consumer with these people. They have refused to return my call and text messages. The service was an absolute abortion. forcing me to hire another company to simply put my truck back is a useable condition. I had to clean up their mess on my truck and driveway. See photos attached.

Austin Mobile Glass sent someone to replace my windshield about 4 weeks ago. It wasn't properly sealed and leaked during the rain we had recently. There was water all over the floor of my truck. Someone came back to fix it and they broke a piece of my trim. Now I can't get anyone to return my phone call. UPDATE: They were supposed to come fix my trim yesterday but never showed up. Today they came and did a shoddy job fixing my trim. They will not return my phone call--they slowly reply to a text message. Has been an absolutely HORRIBLE company to work with. I requested that they send a different person out to do the repair. They were supposed to call before coming out. Instead, they probably sent the first person back out to fix it, because I never received a phone call. I wanted to talk to the person before they touched my truck again. But, no phone call. Ran through a car wash today 5/17/18, and big surprise, my windshield still leaks even after repair. Norman refuses to repair their shoddy job. So much for their "lifetime warranty".. I asked him to pay someone else to do if they can't. He still refuses. Won't speak to me or my husband on the phone. Please take your business elsewhere. I wish zero stars was an option!!! Beware, this fella also offers bribes for positive reviews. Scroll through all the one star reviews and you will see. ***a coworker saw someone working on my truck and it was indeed the SAME PERSON that broke the trim in the first place. Even after specifically asking for someone else.

I checked around looking for a business that was mobile at a fair rate. This would be an out of pocket expense as I decided not to use comprehensive auto insurance given my deductable. The estimate from their online estimate was better than the recognized name in the field by $125. I send e-mail request for scheduling and followed up by phone. I was able to get a solid price, make payment and schedule for the next day. The tech arrived at the beginning of the appointment window and placed a courtesy call first. He explained everything that he would do, including transferring inspection and toll stickers. When he was finished he discussed a few dont's, like no power wash for 24 hours. Easy peasy.

My experience with Mobile Glass qualifies as the worst and most bizarre experience I have EVER had with a business. From the ol' bait and switch to the owner's personal attacks, I am utterly shocked that this company hasn't gone out of business yet. First, we schedule an appointment about 2 weeks in advance to have my windshield replace. The appointment is a 2-4 hour window. During the appointment time (when they are supposed to be here), I get a call from Mobile Glass. They tell me that my windshield is no longer in stock at their warehouse. To keep my scheduled appointment, I either had to pay an extra $100 to rush a shipment or reschedule my appointment for 2 weeks. I ask to speak with the manager/owner (Norman Newome), and I'm trying to work something out. I offered to split the difference of the $100, and he refused. I thought it was a reasonable offer, but that's not what is concerning. Not only did he refuse, but he then went on this bizarre tirade. He kept alluding to the fact that I was a woman and he knew how to run a business because he was a man. Then he asked: "After that, why don't we just get your husband down here so he can kick me in my b*lls!" I swear to you, that's not even the worst of it. I don't even feel comfortable typing everything he said because I intend for this review to be public. As can be expected, I left a couple of negative reviews about my experience (on Yelp and on Facebook). Norman then sought out my reviews, and again began personally attacking me by insinuating that I was mentally ill and the doctor needed to "up my meds." I realize my experience with Mobile Glass is incredibly bizarre, but you can look at Mobile Glass's Facebook page for verification. That's where I posted the review and Norman responded.I should also note that Mobile Glass offers discounts to people that post positive reviews, so please be wary of any positive review you see on Yelp or Facebook.

Response from Austin Mobile Glass
Hey this person was quite a character. Before we actually had them on the schedule we realized what we were getting ourselves in to and avoided them altogether. Of course they turned out to be a Troll and tried to write negative reviews everywhere, but we have more reviews than any of our competition and almost every review is positive so they did nothing to harm us. We actually have received quite a few calls that turned out to be very satisfied customers whom mentioned they read this persons reviews and thought it was hilarious that we called them out and that they were obviously mentally impaired in some way. If you aren't getting bad reviews, you aren't making money.

I had a chip in my windshield, called my insurance company and they referred me to this company. I called, made an appointment and confirmed they received my paperwork from the insurance company. They were supposed to come to my home and fix the chip. The day came and no one showed up and no one called. I called them and left a message but never received a return call.

We DO NOT work directly with insurance companies. We process insurance claims by having the customer satisfy the payment with us and submit their receipt for full reimbursement from their insurance provider.

On January 4, 2012 I had my window replaced by a technician named Steve. I had just returned home from a holiday trip and had a rock come up and crack my windshield but beyond normal chip repair. Unfortunately, I had to have the whole windshield replaced. I called them for the convenience because they were able to come to my place of employment and I like to support local businesses. I called them, they came out and replaced my windshield. The appointment time was for 1-5pm. Shortly after that I kept hearing this whistling noise from my windshield. I spent the next 2 months trying to figure out what that noise was. I had initially thought it was the antenna being disconnected and had that checked out and that was not it. I also had my vehicle diagnostically tested with a dealership and they told me nothing technical/electrical was wrong with the car. At this time it is about mid march (since I had been working with so many people the last thing I thought it was was my windshield.) The mechanic decided to have me drive him around so he could hear the noise. He got his cloth (towel) and put it up to the passenger corner (top right) of my windshield the noise stopped. We figured that out right there and he proceeded to tell me to call the company that did the initial installation and they may have a warranty on their work. I did just that. I still had the original invoice and I called and spoke with Norm. Norm was glad to get the windshield fixed (for free since it was their fault) and told me he would have someone at my place of employment on 03/29/2012 between 9am-1pm. So I made appointment and arrangements regarding my lunch with my work. I waited, waited, and waited. Finally at 1pm I called them to find out what was going on. I spoke with Norm again and he said it was his fault for not putting me on the schedule and apologized for it. At this point I was a little irritated because I had made all the necessary arrangements and had to re-configure my schedule to have them come out AGAIN. Norm scheduled me for 03/30/2012 between 9-1pm again and I did the same thing. The same technician came out at 12:45p.m. This was in the timeframe that was stated to me so I went with it. I let the technician know that the whistling sound was coming from the passenger side of my windshield. He proceeded to ask me if water was coming in and I stated no but I also have a parking garage at my apartments so my car hardly ever gets rained on. He said that the seal would not have to be replaced on the side because if that was the case water would be coming in my car. I told him again where it was coming from and he just said he was going to fix the bottom part of my windshield. I told him that would not fix the problem and if the whistling is there when I go home at 5:30pm I would call them again on Saturday. Sure enough the whistling noise was still there when I started to drive home. I called Norm again on Saturday and explained the situation. He asked me if I could bring my car to him on 04/04/2012 at 3pm. At this point I am severely frustrated/angry as I felt I should not have to take my car to them. The whole reason I called them to begin with was for the convenience. In order to get my windshield fixed I agreed to have my husband bring my vehicle to him at 3pm so he could have his technician there at the same time and they could figure out the problem. I explained to Norm my husband doesn't get out of work until 2pm. Norm stated that was fine and HE would call my husbands cell phone at noon on the day of the appointment to make sure my husband was going to be there at 3. Wednesday 04/04/2012 comes....no phone call to my husband. We cant find the address to his shop because it is not online or on his invoice (which was my fault because I should have got that information when I made the appointment). I called 4 times to get someone to pick up the phone. Finally on the 4th time someone picked up. I asked to speak with Norm and I got him on the phone. At this point it is 3pm and since we did not know where to go we were late. He asked if we were coming and I told him we needed an address and asked if my husband could come quickly. I told him yes and my husband was there in 15 minutes. I went into a meeting at work and came out to find a message from my husband stating they were going to come out to my work AGAIN (4th time now) to fix my windshield. At this point I am livid. I call Norm and asked why my windshield wasn't fixed at that time. He said he couldn't keep his technician waiting on me so he sent him out on a job. I then asked him why he didn't call my husband at noon like he said he would to give him instructions and his excuse was that Dallas had a major hail storm and they have been busy. I told him that was not my problem. I explained to him he said he was going to do something and didn't do it. He acknowledged that. I also stated that I am being severely inconvenienced by the lack of communication by him and his staff. He stated he was not trying to get out of fixing my windshield and I pretty much had to take the appointment the next day. I stated to him I had appointments after 1030 and he needed to be there before that time. He said ok we will be there by 9am. I am like ok and I wait for the next day to come. At 9am Steve (yes the same technician) comes by and finally replaces the windshield. He stated if I had a problem with the windshield if I could call him directly. I state that is fine and I go back to work. After I go back to my vehicle (after work) I see the shoddy job the man has done. I could see all the caulking and everything from the INSIDE OF MY CAR from the drivers side. I DID NOT CALL THEM AGAIN TO CLEAN IT UP. My windshield no longer whistled but the way it looks looked like I got clear plumbing caulk and just threw it up there. I finally just called another company to come and do it right. They were quick professional and even did it at a reduced cost for me since I had such a horrible experience. So all in all it took multiple phone calls, 3 visits from the technician and 1 visit where I had to take my car to them and my car still looked horrible by the windshield. I would never recommend them to anyone of my colleagues or friends. I have a photos on my phone showing the caulk on my windshield. I just haven't figured out how to upload them. But as soon as I figure it out rest and believe I will.

I honestly have no recollection of this customer. However, the idea that I did not do EXACTLY what I said I would do when I said I would do it is obviously not true. Anyone that knows me has already figured out that I'm part of the solution, not part of the problem. I suspect this customer had very poor coordination with our office which resulted in multiple visits and issues. Of course we make mistakes and from time to time there is wind noise or leaks with installs, however that is why we have a warranty and when we fail to make things right we refund your money and allow you to find someone who is better suited to help you. You can't satisfy every customer, but if you're nice and good looking life is still worth living!
