Masterpiece Tile & Grout

Larry and Andrea were fabulous to work with. Andrea spent the most time at my house, and really paid attention to detail. It was a huge, often frustrating job, and they saw it through to the end with humor and professionalism.

Very responsive and went out of his way to assist with motor coach. Had to go buy correct color and 3 years later it still looks great.

He was top of the line and it all looks brand new. He has the most pleasant personality and it was truly a pleasure working with him. He is very personable and knowledgeable.

Contractor came out and met with me to discuss the project. Left and said he would send a quote soon. A few days later, got an email from him that he felt he couldn't do the work within the budget we discussed (which was a guestimate on my part). So, he is just not going to provide a quote. It felt like this was just an excuse (budgets are always negotiable) and for whatever reason he just didn't want to do the job or didn't want to work with us. After spending time with him, I would have at least expected delivery of a quote regardless what the amount was. From speaking to him, I think he and his team would have done a great job and I would have been happy with the work performed.

He was a jerk. He did not want to do my floor, he said there were cracks on the floor. He was rude and I only used him because I had paid for it. The work he did was 'A' plus. His manner to interact with people was 'F". I did not give him more money. The coupon had expired, he came 11 month after. The price was a deal.

As with any home renovation project, always expect the unexpected. Something usually comes up out of the blue that you didn't plan for and this is where the contractors you hire will either shine or fail miserably. We had a fairly significant departure from the planned renovation for our master shower floor (no fault of the contractor) and I can't begin to say enough good things about the job that Larry and his crew did for us throughout the entire process. They worked with me to keep the project within budget, provided quality craftsmanship in their work, stayed in regular contact throughout the project and showed up when promised. I can recommend Masterpiece Tile and Grout without hesitation for any of your tile and grout remodeling needs.

This was the second time I've used Masterpiece Tile & Grout and it will not be the last. The first job was to redo our entire guest shower which was done to our expectations and in a timely manner. In fact I received a lot of good suggestions from Larry when planning the work that ended up being incorporating into the shower. The second job was to fix an area in our master bath shower that had to be ripped out due to a water leak. The work was completed within a few days of our initial meeting to discuss the work. I am currently in the process of working with Masterpiece to redo the floor and replace the vanity in our guest bath.

Larry did a fantastic job. He was punctual and professional. He even completed the job at a cost that was a little less than his original estimate. Additionally he provided free advise on how to clean and care for the marble in my shower and the granite in my kitchen. I cannot say enough good things about this provider.

The owner, Larry, came out and told me exactly what needed to be done, and how it would be done. The work was scheduled, conveniently for me. Jose arrived on time and worked for 5 hours and did precision work. Very hard worker and very nice. Larry is extremely nice, personable and knowledgeable. I would recommend them and use them, again, in a second.

The job took about 5 days from start to finish. The contractor showed up on time every day and worked until five. All went smoothly and as explained by Larry, the owner of the company. The shower looks great and after 10 days we have had no problems. I would recommend him anyone that has an issue it their bath.

Larry and team came to fix the shoddy workmanship of the prior tile crew we had in our house. Larry reset tile shelves in the shower, re-floated the grout on the shower floor, and caulked corners, etc. where the grout had cracked and fallen out. Months later today Larry's work still looks great. Glad we hired him and would suggest him to others. Larry even went out of his way to help me re-mount my flagpole to the outside of my house which had fallen that morning due to the heavy winds the night prior. Larry is a really good guy.

Larry met me onsite to access the job. His bid and professionalism was the best of the three companies that I spoke with. He was clear about the timeline of the job and how each step would work. He helped me work with the insurance company to get our water claim submitted. All of his subcontractors were professional, on time, and cleaned their area when they completed the work. It was a pleasure working with Larry. If I ever had any other bathroom renovation, I would 100% call Larry first.

I selected Masterpiece Tile and Grout based on Angie's List reviews. Larry, the owner, did this job himself. I purchased this home about a year ago and it had 12" white tiles in the master bathroom with a brick-red colored grout which had become discolored in spots. I wanted to change the grout to white for a more modern look. Larry explained on the phone exactly what needed to be done. He explained that the stain he uses would also make the grout nonporous, which was important to me since I have a dog who does not always hit the potty pad. He thoroughly cleaned the grout before beginning and then stained it and it looks great. He had to do two coats because we were going from a dark to light color and he suggested that I wait a week or so and let him know if I thought it needed another coat. He is very knowledgeable and gave me a lot of good information on the care of the rest of my floors which include tile, marble and travertine. I was very please with his work and the price and will likely have him back to do the same thing in my other bathroom and utility room. I would recommend him highly.

This service provider was excellent. Larry came out soon after the call to provide an estimate for the work which included the following: 1. Replace two broken tiles in phase 1; 2. Several days later in phase 2 a crew arrived to clean the floor area and "stain" tile grout in the kitchen, breakfast, den, laundry and half-bath. During the time of the service all crew members cleaned up the work area after the service and conducted themselves professionally. Larry called several days later to follow up.

EXCELLENT! This has quite possibly been the best experience I have ever had with an Angie's List business. A+++ seems like an understatement for how great our experience was. Larry was very responsive in coming out quickly to provide a bid and move forward with scheduling. There were two guys who came out to do the demo (sealed everything nicely). Then the plumber came out (they use a master plumber). Then Jose came out to begin building the shower and working on tile. Jose was a total pleasure to have in our home. He is a hard worker, is polite, speaks great English, and is just overall a nice guy. His tile work is amazing. He can cut circles out of tile! He also uses 1/16th grout joints in floor tile. You never see that anywhere and it is a big difference. After the tile was complete, everything was grouted with a no-seal, repellent type of grout. I believe it's called Fusion grout. It looks and seems like regular grout but is great. We worked together to determine grout color and Larry was onsite regularly for all the decisions along the way (we never had to ask him to come out because he came out every day or two, sometimes several days in a row). The baseboards that were removed were not in great shape, so we asked Larry to add on the baseboard replacements, which he did for $300 (we have a lot of cuts, separate potty, and felt this was a very reasonable price). They were painted, installed, caulked, and done superbly. We also utilized the same plumber to do additional work in our house (replacing another shower and valve, lots of sinks, etc). The sheetrock that was removed was replaced and taped/primed/painted by his guys without us even asking! We just provided paint and it was done. Not only was that a huge convenience, we weren't even charged for it. Once everything was essentially done, we called out the plumber to install the fixtures (he did all the plumbing work earlier, but Larry didn't want to damage the fixture parts - shower head, handle, etc). He came out the same day and got it done. We had a problem after using the shower the first time that the shower head kept dripping at a very steady stream and again the plumber returned the same day of our call to clean out the valve and make it work correctly. The glass is the last part and Mark from Gemini Glass came out to measure out everything and discuss options after the entire bathroom was complete. It took about 10 days for the glass to arrive and be installed. Larry included an estimate of $1700 in his bid for the glass and the total was $1780. That was great since we changed the shape of the shower slightly. It's a beautiful THICK frameless enclosure. Just to be clear, the price above ($9900) included this glass.. Our experience with Larry and his team was great. When I first started reading the reviews on Angie's List, I wasn't sure who did the plumbing, the tile, the sheetrock, etc. He has people he uses regularly to do these things. He always uses the same plumber, the same tile guy, same glass guy, same granite guy, etc. I don't know if the demo people are the only ones he uses or not, but they were also great. As you go through the experience, you hear stories of why he uses these certain people (example with a plumber overcharging him once, so he stopped using him). You believe in him more and more as the project continues and you get to spend time with him and his team. Larry is friendly and easy to talk to. He walked us through various decisions along the way and told us when we would need to make them (do you want to sheetrock or tile this part? you don't need to tell me for a few more days). The total price was exactly as expected. The original bid did not include the cost of tile and plumbing fixtures so that was added on at the end. While it was challenging to select our own tile, it was great. Larry picked up the tile on several occasions and added it to our bill. He never nickel and dimed us, and I felt confident that the total price would end up being on target. It was. Excellent experience.

Larry came out the next day and looked everything over and gave a us a quote. He told us that he was finishing up one job and about to start another so it might be the end of May or first part of June before he could schedule us in. That was fine--we weren't in a hurry. Larry contacted us again on May 9 and advised that he would be able to start on May 15. He and Jose arrived on the 15th at the time they said they would and got right to work. Jose is awesome--always punctual, always polite, always cleaned up at the end of the day. I can't say enough good things about this company and we will be using them when we do our master bath remodel. My shower looks amazing!

Larry and his team helped to repair a very shoddy job done, by the construction side, of the remediation company that we used. Larry came in, was able to assess the situation, was able to explain in detail how things would work. He stayed in constant contact, to let us know when, what, where, who, would be taking place. His glass team did an amazing job fitting an existing door and mirror into the newly retiled space, saving us thousands of dollars. His tile man, did a meticulous job of placing the tiles in the showers, floor and backdrop of our sink. We couldn't have been happier and would recommend him to every friend we have. If we need bathroom tiling for our other bathroom in the future, there is no doubt that we would call Larry.

Larry and his assistant did a fine job for me. They were very prompt, and Larry thoroughly explained what was happening and what needed to be done about it throughout the process.

Larry (and crew) did a great job re-grouting two bathrooms in our 1970's home. Very professional and detailed, we appreciate the thorough approach the Larry demonstrated. We would definitely recommend Masterpiece for any tile/grout job that you might be considering!

We used Masterpiece Tile & Grout to completely redo the tile in a bathroom shower. The owner (Larry) was very responsive, and as a matter of fact provided an initial quote on the same day that we called (as he was in the area on another job). Our initial job turned into a slightly bigger job than expected, as the original drywall that had been installed in the shower had become water damaged over time. We chose to completely replace the drywall with the appropriate concrete backer board in the shower. Larry gave us multiple options to consider for the new tile, and we selected a slightly higher grade tile for our replacement job. Very pleased w/ the work, and his staff were very courteous and did a completely professional job!

Amazing! Larry is first and foremost the most honest and trustworthy general contractor I have come across - and I have done several renovation projects . He does exactly what he says he will do, is upfront about time and costs, and takes pride in his workmanship. For the few hiccups/unexpected issues (and all projects have them), he fixed it at his own cost, unless it was due to my error. When I thought a quote from a sub was too high, he went out and got more bis until I was happy. I trust him completely. His workmanship is also impeccable. As the name suggests, his specialty is tile work. We completely tore out our master bath, reconfigured it and put in marble tile and countertops. Working with imperfections of natural stone isn't easy, and our bathroom tile work is near perfect! Everything is flush, the pattern is great - it's beautiful! He also has great subs - plumber, electrician, glass - their work is to the same standard as his tile work. His slab guy, Escobar, was also easy to work with and was very accommodating in allowing us to come pick our slab. Additionally, we had him contract to put engineered wood floors in the master bedroom to match the rest of the downstairs. His wood guy was also amazing! Our wood floors look like they were all installed at the same time. Finally, Larry installed a wine fridge for us. This was particularly challenging, as the cabinet which we removed for the wine fridge was slightly bigger than the fridge. Larry got creative, cut a piece of wood off the old cabinet and inserted it. The fridge looks like it was built in with the house! You can't see any seams. All in all, I'm so glad we picked Larry to do our work. I would highly recommend him!

The team was on time everyday. The team owner explained to me every detail and what I would expect during the process. The team were professionals, took orders from the team owner at all times and very flexible in meeting my expectations and exceeding them. When we chose the wrong stain for the floors in the family room the team owner made it easy for us to change to another color. Even though we had to pay an additional price we were so happy there was not any push back. In fact they worked into their schedule to finish job on time. Everyone stayed focused and were detailed. When you consider the dust created by sanding, we felt they insulated the work area where there wasn't a shedding of dust because of the sanding of floors. Overall the job went well. Job was mostly completed by Jose, but Larry was here to oversee the start and finish of the job. Asked Larry to come and check on the progress at one point and ask a question about caulking and was told he would be here in 20 minutes or so and waited 45, but I believe he had a project going on at his house that was holding him up. Very nice work and would certainly use him again!

We are very please with the work preformed by Masterpiece Tile. We will be calling Larry in the future as we need work. I trust his advice and work.
