I broke one of the USB ports on my computer. The breakage caused a short which prevented the computer from powering up. I called Allen Geeks after checking Angie's List website. I left a message and received a return call from Brian in less than an hour. I asked if I could bring my computer to him right away since I had another errand in his general vicinity and, to put it lightly, I depend on my computer pretty much every hour of every work day. He indicated that that would be fine and he was ready to help. His location was easy to find, a short distance south of the 121-Custer intersection. Brian greeted me at the door and immediately put the unit on his work bench. He quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. He had the computer powered up moments later and started a general check of systems and software. He provided excellent information regarding security issues and improving operational performance. He removed suspect and outdated software and updated security protection from free online sources. Throughout, he shared clear and helpful insights about cost-effective computer use including tips on free downloads, maintenance and consumer-friendly software. He answered all of my questions in clear non-technical terms. The speed and competence of service, combined with a very reasonable cost and an easy informality, made this a completely pleasant experience. I am extremely pleased to have found Brian at Allen Geeks and will happily rely on his company for any and all future computer maintenance and repairs.

At first sign of hard disk failure contact a professional so there is a better chance of data recovery. Brian at Allen Geeks explained exactly what he would do to fix it and how much it would cost for parts and service. And when the computer would be ready to be picked up. There were no unpleasant surprises. It was easy to find his address.

Talked with Brian about computer issues. He said he would diagnose problems for free! He diagnosed and replaced Hard Drive within 24 hours. Very Reasonable and very happy customer!

I called Brian to get an estimate on copying my laptop hard drive to an external hard drive. He seemed nice and professional. I dropped off my laptop and it was completed that day. The price was reasonable and the service very prompt - much better than Geek Squad. . Brain also keeps a lookout on good computer deals and he emailed me information on a great deal when I told him I was looking fo a new desktop.

All this was accomplished in about 3 hours the same day I took the unit in. It sure beats the "Big Box" computer repair stores. He has a new customer that's completely satisfied and will return, should I need professional service.

Brian was great. I called and asked if he was able to recover data from my somehow corrupt external hard drive. He said that most likely he could. That drive had all of our family photos on it, so I was hopeful that he would be able to recover all the data. I dropped off the drive at his office (which is actually in his house, in a neighborhood...just so you're not confused when you drive up!) and he did a quick diagnosis to see if he data was recoverable. After a few minutes, he said that yes, he would be able to recover all of the data, but that the drive was probably going bad. I left the drive with him and he said he would call when the data extraction was complete. In the meantime, I bought two new drives and dropped them off at his office. He said that he would put all the data on the two drives, so that I now had two back=ups instead of one. The chances of both going bad at the same time were slim! The job was complete within a day and Brian was easy to work with. We are certainly appreciative that all of our family photos were recovered!

He's a genuinely nice and honest guy. Try this guy.

Allen Geeks did an outstanding job, very quickly and reasonably priced. I would recommend them to anyone needing any kind of computer work done.
