I had some difficulty getting them to show up in the first place. They were over 2 hours late when they did show, extra time I had to take from work. I also specifically requested 4 conductor speaker wire to reduce cost by minimizing the number of pulls (he charges by the pull). Instead, he brought cable more than 4 times as expensive as I requested and brought 2 conductor cable to maximize the number of pulls and thus cost. They used poor quality old work boxes that don't pull up tight to the wall. The appearance is quite bad. I ended up paying almost twice, $837, the cost we discussed on the phone, (3 pulls at $100, plus $100 to $150 in cable) because of these ?tricks?. His hands trembled when he handed me the bill, so I'm sure he knew what he was doing. It's my fault for not confirming the cost before work began, but how often does a company double charge? One of the cables he pulled was to relocate an ethernet cable. While Dan claims he ?qualified? the cable before he left, it has never worked. He claims to have ?documents to prove it?. So far, he has refused to come repair the cable. He makes vague appointments (?first of the week?) and never calls or show up. He told me he would call the first of the week of December 10, 2012! it is now Monday Jan 7 and no call and no repair. Dan claims he has called me 7 or 8 times, but there is no record on my phone of his calls. He does not leave messages, either. I have had to call him and leave messages 3 to 5 times before he will answer the phone. He will not return a call. When we do talk he is very defensive, once telling me ?if you are going to argue with me, I just won't come out there? and belligerent. It's been over a month I've been trying to get him back out here to correct the problem, with no results, and two defiant phone calls. Yet he always ?stands behind his work?. To his credit, he claims he came to my house on a day he says I told him I would be there, but I wasn't. He did not call ahead to to confirm I was available, nor will he set an appointment. I also asked him to refluff the blown insulation in my attic after they were done, explaining that is why my power bills were so low. He assured me he had done that without prompting as he left. Not only did he not restore the insulation, the insulation wrap around my main heating duct was torn, exposing about 10 feet of the bare duct in the areas where he worked. I bought some tape and repaired the insulation and used a rake to restore the trampled insulation, in just a few easy minutes. This level of carelessness and dishonesty is beyond unacceptable. I recommend against hiring Chattanooga Geeks.
Description of Work: I hired Chattanooga Geeks in mid-October to run speaker cables through the walls to the rear channel speakers in my new house and to relocate an ethernet cable from the back wall of one room to the front wall.
