I was quoted a price that included 2 guys for a full day to complete the project. However, when the 2 man crew came, their only instructions was to remove the front door and seal it up. The subcontractors were not informed that there would be any repairs involved and after a little chit chat, said that it was a 2 hour job as provided to them in the Work Order. If they included the repairs, they let me know that it would take the full day. When I called the Premier representative, he had significant pushback on the scope of work for this small project. He stated that the repairs were not included and that the 2-man crew was only to remove the door and seal it. The additional "scope" would tack on ANOTHER FULL DAY; thereby more than doubling the quoted price. At this point, the existing entryway was already removed and I was given the options to either keep the current scope of work or more than double the price. The entire point of this project was that Pella would not install the new entry without the repairs. Ultimately, the repairs took the full day and the crew came by in the morning for an hour to inspect the work and finish sealing the door. My thoughts: 1. If statement of work had been correct and that the damage to the frame was more extensive than originally determined, then I would not be upset with adding the additional scope. 2. No representative ever came out to inspect the issue or after the work was completed and therefore did not have knowledge of the extend of the repairs. 3. I feel like the representative extorted us for more money because HE messed up scope of work. 4. This likely could have been resolved by providing a written quote with the details of the job. Unfortunately, I can not recommend this company as a result of this experience. I was put in an impossible situation where I either have to hire a different crew to complete the scope or pay double. I found it unprofessional, a strongarm tactic, and dishonest.

1. The repainted trim and front door painting went well and looks good.
2. On repainting the steps into the house, at first the painters slapped one coat of paint on top of the old, pealed paint even though they were told to sand and prime first. You could see bare wood through the paint. They had to sand and repaint. They did not prime the wood as we requested.
3. Much of the siding on the dormers had to be redone because the carpenter didn't cut the boards to fit and the siding was very uneven along the roof.
4. The garage door replacement went well.
5. The biggest mistake was replacing the door from the garage into the house. The replacement door is an inch shorter than the old door. That was the first mistake. Then, the trim carpenter and painter came along and finished the door leaving the 1-inch gap open between the garage and the house interior...and told the boss they were finished! I found the gap above the door myself a few days later. I just couldn't believe 3 sub-contractors let that go!
6. The closet conversion went well. I am very happy with the closet reconstruction.
7. They did a good job repairing the broken bricks on the front porch.
8. The cracked mortar repairs are very messy. We should have hired a company that specializes in brick repair on this item. I would not recommend they take on mortar repairs in the future.
On the total project, we were told the work would take 2 weeks to complete, but it took 8 weeks. We expected the work to take longer than 2 weeks, so were not too concerned about the time discrepancy. Our biggest complaint with Premier is that no one supervised the work of the sub-contractors. So, when the sub-contractors made a mistake or did sub-standard work, they would tell the boss they were finished. We had to follow up with the company to come look at the 'finished' work, which was subsequently redone. The premier people were very nice and made every effort to fix the work that was sub-standard. We believe the company accepted the job when they were too busy. The owner of the company never contacted us. We don't believe he was aware of our situation until very late in the project. We will never know what is their best work because we will not hire them again.
Response from Premier Maintenance & Remodeling LLC
"We appreciate the feedback provided, as it gives us an opportunity to improve our performance and level of customer satisfaction. We have taken steps to improve our supervision of subcontractor work by now scheduling an onsite project manager for our ongoing projects. We want our customers to be happy with the end result, and we appreciate this customer allowing us to remedy any work that was initially not to her satisfaction. We have made improvements internally to help avoid any similar occurrences on future projects."

Representatives from Premier Maintenance and Remodeling were very thorough and responsive. The workmen were prompt, professional, courteous, and did a fabulous job, especially Gary Dooley. The job consisted of tearing out everything in the old bathroom and installing a new shower, lots of tile, toilet, new closet, some new drywall, medicine cabinets, lights, exhaust fan, and painting. We are very pleased with the beautiful results and would hire Premier again!
