Ground Up Foundation Repair is an excellent business. The owners are great people and they run a great company. I’ve been able to count on them to do great work over the last ten years. They have done a variety of jobs for my family over the years. Each time the job looks excellent and they do what they say. I highly recommend them.

Excellent work! Every step of the process of working with Ground Up was easy and reassuring. Russ was the project supervisor who started the process by taking a look at our foundation and a couple of areas that needed attention. He reviewed the project thoroughly and asked very specific questions about what we wanted to do. I really appreciated the care and thought that was put into making sure that we were on the same page about the work to be done. He explained everything very thoroughly (in words that I could understand!), and I felt really good about having them do the work after talking the project through with Russ. All this before I even got the quote! I hired them, and I am beyond satisfied with the work and the service. Carter and his team showed up to do the work, and it was clear that Russ had communicated the job clearly to the team, and i didn't even need to speak to Russ after that. Carter did a great job, kept me updated on the progress, and they showed up when they said they would. They were very respectful of the interior of our home, keeping things clean. They did a terrific job on the foundation and replaced the entire vapor barrier. On top of it all, they removed the old jacks and some old rusted steal pipes that the previous owner left in our crawlspace. I didn't ask them to, but it was clearly trash, and they offered to remove it, which was above and beyond. Can't say enough about what a relief it is to know that the house is sitting on a firm foundation, and for such an important repair, it feels really good to work with a team that inspired confidence every step of the way. I would gladly hire them again. They did excellent work and gave me a warranty on top of it. To Russ and Carter and the rest of the team, thank you very much! I'm so grateful for the wonderful job you did to stabilize the home that my family sleeps in.

Derek, his crew, and his masonry subs did amazing work. Due to shoddy workmanship by the original homeowner and another foundation "expert", we had to hire Ground Up to do it right. I didn't make it easy for them, but I was also very guarded after the mess we had on our hands to begin with. Derek went above and beyond in piering up what could be piered and repouring the foundation on the back side of the house. I will definitely use them again if we ever decide to dig out a partial basement and/or encapsulate the original crawl space.

They were prompt with a quote after we sent photos of the issue. They set an appointment and were timely and very professional. A few months later a crack the filled reopened and they came right away to quickly fix the issue. Will definitely hire again.

Great! The company was on time and did everything they quoted. They explained in detail why these things needed to be done. All of their employees are professionals. We have not had any problems since this work was done. At the time when the aforementioned work was done this company had a separate remodel division which we used and are more than satisfied with their work. The remodel was $85K plus.

We absolutely love Ground Up. They came highly recommended to us and repaired an issue we were having with water intrusion in our lower level. They are expert professionals who get the job done right. We have already recommended them to our neighbor and would not hesitate to use them again.

Great! Their price was competitive. And they accommodated our short timeframe to get the work done. They showed up on time and finished on time and didn't leave a mess. RJ Summers and the team were professional and responsive. All I could ask for.

Downspouts from gutters and sump pump discharge were extended and buried under lawn to divert water out to street (away from our foundation). Materials used for drainage was heavy duty PVC pipes (not corrugated plastic tubing), we are confident it will last and not collapse or degrade over time. It is also attractive (at least as far as gutters go), as they used proper fittings to match up to existing downspouts. Used green plastic 'pop-ups' at the exit points which blend into yard and are positioned such that they can be easily mowed over. Lawn was minimally disturbed, they saved and replaced the grassy chunks where possible, and reseeded the rest. Very pleased.

We decided we needed to tackle the water issues in the basement of our century old home (unfinished, dirt dug out basement), as we ultimately wanted to be able to use the space as a work shop, but it flooded nearly every time it rained! Had numerous companies come out ranging from small time handymen up to national chains, had a variety of plans proposed. Ground Up's plans were the most comprehensive and they actually solved the problems, instead of just putting band-aid on issue. It was a major undertaking: we opted to dig basement floor down deeper (to increase head space), replace all 12 support posts in basement (including new footers), move sump pump, install three different drainage systems (we live on springs), and then pour new floor but in the end- our basement is FINALLY DRY! We have had several storms since the work, and we have held our breath waiting to ensure nothing seeps in, but it has not. Also, with the replacing the posts, they were able to upgrade materials & optimize placement to provide us with much more usable space. The Ground Up team was great from beginning to end, the initial project manager did a thorough inspection of property, gave us all options, and helped us decide which ones to prioritize, and which ones would could be DIY or just put on back burner. We appreciated the honesty and help. The team that did the work was fantastic, they worked through horrible rain and mud conditions. Things were cleaned up at the end of each day, and at the end of the project. Overall we are so pleased with the work and so glad we went with Ground Up - they are big enough of a company that they are capable of major residential foundation repairs, but still small enough to answer phone calls & emails and take time to explain things to you. We now have a dry space for a workshop- and also a solid foundation that will last another 100+ years.

Installed perimeter drain system in crawl space. Total and complete failure!!!! Installers did not put drain pipe below or at least even with bottoms of foundation. Put it level with top of foundation, argued with them till I fianally called owner (Derek). He came out and argued with me and told his guys to keep going the way they were. Hit a rock and, after telling them I wanted the drain pipe ran along perimeter of rock, refused to do this. They called Derek and he told them to put drain on top of rock. Well main water source was coming around perimeter of rock and not on top of rock. Never saw sales man through whole process until I did not pay. Then he shows up (big guy) and gets very threatening about collecting money. Dereck finally came out and instead of redoing what I wanted done he gave me 100 foot of pipe to dig my own trench to collect some water his main line were to shallow to catch. Told him I was not digging trench, he supplied labor, was free, and I took off work to supervise his guy's on how I wanted it done. The 100 feet was buried deeper than the foundation and run downhill, measured with a level not by eye as rest of pipe was, all the way to sump pump. It is the only section out of 2600 feet that works correctly. All of the installers looked for the lazy way out and would tell you how smart they were any time you tried to make a suggestion. As I get prepared for 2-4 inches of ran, I sit here confidently knowing my drain system will not keep my foundation any drier than before I had it installed. The only reason I rated them a 1 is because it would not let me go to zero.

"Mr. [Member Name Removed], We're very sorry you feel this way. We take customer service and satisfaction very serious, In fact we were just awarded a customer satisfaction award from raving reviews. Unfortunately, its been almost two years since the project was completed and this is the first were hearing about this. We take great pride in our work and would've been more than happy to address any concerns. Again Sir, We're very sorry. If you would've called us we would've been more than happy to assist in dewatering the crawlspace."

Overall, the work was very good, but they called me during the middle of the job saying they needed to use one more jack and it'd cost more money. He told me not to talk to an estimator but they specifically sent this estimator out to my house to collect a check. They shouldn't be collecting a check during the middle of the job especially when I already paid half upfront, that's not right. It shows good faith on my end when I pay them upfront but it makes it hard for me to trust them when all they want is money before the job is even done. In my opinion they should've been more upfront about the job, the specifications and the cost rather than wanting to charge me additionally on top of the original estimate. I believe the communication skills need to be better in terms of the job and the cost, because I need to know specifically how much I'm going to spend rather than be surprised with extra costs during the middle of the job. Overall, I can't recommend this company as it's hard to trust them and their intentions.

Our front porch slab had pulled away from the house. GUB drilled holes in the steps and injected cement under the steps and moved the porch slab back into place.
They were very neat, on time and did exactly what they said they would do.
