We bought a living social deal for two hours of handyman work with JDG. We tried to schedule it a few months ago, and had to use his online scheduling site per his request. We had to go six weeks out from that time just to get a date; he'd also done a groupon offer and apparently the business was bustling. Two days before he was supposed to come, he called my husband and said the system had let us schedule him when he was actually not available. Told us to reschedule and offered a couple of dates or a refund since the deal was going to expire within a couple of weeks. We picked a new date, but then he said he'd have to get back to us to confirm. Never did. Called to ask about the dates. Waited for a call back. Finally hounded him and got a response, but the date and time didn't work for us. This was after several attempts to reschedule, so we were frustrated at this point. I requested a refund from Living Social, and they did credit us the money. A frustrating experience all around, and just overall unprofessional.

The online scheduler allowed a date we were closed to be booked ( the day before thanksgiving) . I didnt realize this until the day before. I offered to reschedule for a weekend. Which i dont usually work. The weekends i offered were to far out for the Member. I then offered the friday the 28th which was no good for the customer and was asked for a refund. So thats what i did. I advised them how to get a refund. Unfortunately , my schedule is so full it is hard for me to reschedule. I tried my best to fit them in. When it didnt work i refunded their $49.

It was very messy and overall a very bad job. I had to pay to have it torn out and redone. Cost me a whole lot of money to make this mistake. He cut the tiles with nippers, not a wet tile saw. They were chipped and broken. It was a glass tile. He took all of my left over Mastik so I had to buy another large $75 tub of it when I could have used it the 2nd time around. He is a nice kid but not respectful of your home, he gouged my countertop and had placed part of it in a walkway to the family room where my 2 year old kept trying to walk on it. I had to keep picking up after him. The first night he left I moved everything to a less traveled area where it might be safer. He didnt clean up after himself. I had a painter after him who did a phenomenal job. I realized the difference pretty quickly
Description of Work
The first job was to put in recessed lights. While the job did get done and was done correctly, he was very messy. I had to clean for several hours to get rid of the drywall mess as well as the grout. It was messy but done inexpensively. He quoted me a good price to do my kithcen backsplash. I hired him. He came and ripped out the old one. He put up the tile and grouted it immediately. You are supposed to wait 24 hours to grout. As a result, the tile was crooked. He did not wipe off the grout, but left it for me to wipe off and told me to wait 48 hours before removing the excess grout. The next day, my painter came and was horrified. He was right, the grout was never coming off. I could not get my electrical plates back on because he put them back into the sockets crooked. The tile trim was not mitered at the corners and you could see into the trim. It was a very poor job. I had two other tile guys come to give me re-do quotes and they both agreed that it was the worst job they had ever seen. I had to pay to have it redone. Check the better business bureau. He has been reported there as well. I wish I had checked that out first.
