Overall, it was a nightmare.  Their work, other that carpet and baseboard removal was ineffective.  I had to pay someone else to remove and replace the drywall. 

I could not believe their audacity in demanding such high fees for a relatively meager amount of work.  I offered to pay them more than $1,000 for their failed efforts, but they just ignored my offer.  I concluded that it would be simpler to pay them their outrageous bill than to hire an attorney (who would cost more than $2,000) and continue fighting their lien.

Never let Servpro do any work in your house until they give you a firm written estimate of the cost.  Otherwise, they can just about charge you anything they want.

The biggest joke is the Servpro slogan: "LIKE IT NEVER EVEN HAPPENED."  Mostly they just tear things out; it's up to you to put things back together.  The most expensive part of dealing with a water damaged basement is the cost of the new materials and the skilled labor to put things back together.  Servpro's unskilled labor for tearing things out should be cheap part of the project, but believe me, it's not.

My home was flooded in the flood in Nashville in May, 2010. My house had about 2' of water over 3 days. Serv Pro was already on site when I was able to get in the house. I received an estimate of work, it seemed slightly high, but acceptable. They were already working on my neighbors' homes. Their work was impeccable and thorough, the staff was courteous and polite - for the most part. One major problem, I had however, was their clean out crew threw out items that did not get wet from the flood, they were above the water line. I had to leave to take care of finding a place to live temporarily, etc. I didn't think I had to tell them not to throw out things that didn't get wet or things that were salvageable. I estimate they threw out somewhere between $700-$1000 worth of items. Second, some people on the clean up crew were asking me if they could have certain items. I found this behavior highly inappropriate as I had just lost my home and belongings. Last, the estimate was already slightly high. When I received the bill it was double the estimate...$17,000. That is unbelievable. There was not $17,000 worth of work done. I did not get my money's worth. I feel absolutely taken advantage of in a crisis situation. I feel preyed upon as they were already here and perfectly sympathetic and empathetic. It's a reputable company so I felt safe giving them my business. The estimate was $8-$10K (again slightly high to begin with). My neighbors with the same amount of damage received similar estimates and final bills. I would not use them again simply based on the estimate vs. price. There is no way a company whose core competency is water damage clean up can get an estimate that wrong. Plus the behavior of the clean up crew. It wasn't their home - so they just threw stuff out or tried to get my damaged stuff. However, the quality of their work is not at all in question, the home was completely cleaned out and dried. No mold or remaining smell. The on-site management was very professional.

Great. I called; they came; they gave an estimate; I hired; they did the work. All within about 2 days!!

This company was excellent in that they responded to the initial problem, and went above and beyond to detect the source of the problem. They were very responsive and courteous.
