Cedar Bluff Plumbing

My main drain became completely clogged without any warning the night before I had to catch an early flight to the west coast. I researched companies on AngiesList while I was out of town and called and made an appointment for when I returned. The technicians were on time, and very professional. I explained my problem, and they got right to work. Considering the nature of problem, minimal mess was created during the repair. Camera inspection showed that roots had found their way into the main drain at a fernco fitting where past plumbers connected me to the sewer system. The technicians explained that if the other plumbers would have encased the junction in concrete, this problem wouldn't have occurred. Although the technicians completely cleared the problem, they did warn me that it would very likely occur again if I didn't dig it up and address the issue. They explained repair options to allow me to try and schedule the repair, since it will be a pretty deep hole. The price would have been $100 cheaper, but I specifically requested the use of the video camera. The technicians left me with a VHS tape (remember those?) of the line evaluation which showed exactly what the problem was. I was pleased with the service, but hopefully I wont have to repeat it anytime soon!

After a few positive experiences with Cedar Bluff Plumbing, we called to find out how much they would charge to install a new toilet. We purchased the toilet from Home Depot and they sent one of their guys out to install it. Everything seemed to go fine, until almost a month later, when we noticed a stain that had developed on the ceiling of the kitchen, as well as patches of mold. We called CBP and they sent a different guy out, and he immediately determined that the first plumber had done a shoddy job installing the toilet originally. Instead of "building up the flange" the first plumber had simply slapped an extra wax ring on it, which caused the poor seal and the leak. The second plumber finished up and I showed him the stain and mold and asked him what CBP would be doing about that. To his credit, he admitted he was just a plumber, not a drywall guy, but he asked if I had any bleach and a spray bottle. He sprayed the mold spots and wiped them off and said he would "let the office know" about the stain so they could decide how to handle it. Well, they handled it by ignoring it, so we called them back to ask what they were going to do to fix the problem their plumber had created in our kitchen. They said they normally didn't cover damage like this, but would get back to us within a week. Which they never did. We eventually gave up because my wife was pregnant and we had too much stress already to keep trying to make Cedar Bluff Plumbing do the right thing. But the simple fact is that their employee did a lazy, shoddy job of installing our toilet, which caused a leak and stain in our ceiling downstairs. Their second employee spotted this immediately and admitted it was poor quality work. Now we're stuck with hundreds of dollars worth of new to pay for - drywall, painting, and texturing our ceiling, all to fix a problem caused by CBP. We had a few positive experiences with CBP, but when presented with the opportunity to do the right thing and repair damage they caused, they refused.

I have used Cedar Bluff Plumbing on several occasions for replacing faucets, replacing pipes in the wall, and repairing leaks. On this particular date, I discovered a pinhole leak in the pipe coming from the water heater. The leaking pipe was in the ceiling of the basement, concealed by dry wall. Mike got to our house very quickly and the repair was finished in about an hour and a half. I have been very pleased with Cedar Bluff Plumbing's responsiveness and professionalism.

Called Cedar Bluff Plumbing;Timmy has been my plumber for the past seven years.. As usual, he was here within 24 hours and my repair was finished within two days. Professional, courteous. No surprises. It's great to have a reliable resource.

They showed up when the said they would, did the work quickly and professionally, and came in under the estimate they had provided. This is not the first time we have used Cedar Bluff Plumbing and this job just reinforced our opinion that they are our go-to company for any plumbing work we have.

When I called to ask about the billing, the lady on the phone would not give me an answer. She was insistant that I needed to pay the bill. After several attempts to get the owner to return my phone call (to no avail), I gave up. I wrote a letter and paid them what I thought was a generous amount in an attempt to settle the matter. The $1,500.00 I sent them was $700 more than the other companies had quoted. I thought this would settle the matter. (The other companies quoted $800.00 - I paid $1,500.00 - They billed $2,600.00) They accepted my check and simply applied it to the bill. I still felt that there was an overcharge and again asked for a phone call from the owner to settle the matter. No phone call ever happened. They still wanted $1,100.00 more. After several months of billing and phone calls, they turned me over to a collection agency. I disputed the account with the collection agency. After several months of disturbing phone calls and mail, the collection agency sued me. When the court dates came, Cedar Bluff never showed up for the hearing. After a multitude of attemps and reset trial dates, I was finally granted a judgement in my favor. This should have ended the matter - but no - the nightmare lived on..... The case was appealed. The collection attorney waited almost two more years to set a court date for the appeal. When we showed up for court this morning - he actually wanted me to pay him to forget the case. He then tried to push the date out another several months with the judge. Wow! How do these people stay in business? 7 years of aggravation because they wanted to rip me off with an overcharge.

I was very pleased with the service. While the rate was probably a tad high, I don't mind paying for quick, quality service; especially over a holiday weekend.

Had a line break on our side of the water meter. Called looking for a plumber. Explained the problem and that we had a medically fragile child in the house and it needed to be fixed ASAP. The woman who answered the phone told me that they didn't have any open appointments. Period. No, we'can't do it today but can come out tomorrow... or next week... or anything like that. Just no appointments. Definitely didn't sound like they wanted our business. We called someone else to do the job.

Our condo association has one main water meter for 10 units and we were spending sometimes $1000 a month on our water bill. In order to determine who was using all the water we had 5 submeters installed on the pipes that supply water to each of the 5 buildings (2 units in each). The work involved digging a larger hole where the existing cut -off valve was, installing a water submeter and a new ball-type shut off valve, and fitting a new access box over the hole. The job took 2 days to finish all 5 buildings and it was done well. We were able to find out who needed to fix their leaky toilet and the work will pay for itself in no time!

After first calling Pipe Wrench Plumbing, the plumber told me he would have to cut out a piece of Sheetrock from the interior wall behind the faucet to repair the faucet and the job would cost over $400, and I would have to get somebody else to fix the hole because they don't do Sheetrock. This didn't sound right, so I found Cedar Bluff Plumbing after seeing their good reviews on Angie's List. Timmy from Cedar Bluff Plumbing came out later that day, diagnosed the problem and fixed it quickly (needed to replace a washer in the faucet). My faucet was working fine after this quick fix. The only charge was the service call fee. I will call Cedar Bluff Plumbing if I have any future plumbing issues and ask for Timmy. DO NOT USE PIPE WRENCH PLUMBING!

Plumber came next business day after call and completed job satisfactorily. Job was for a rental house and I was able to pay them upon mailed receipt of bill which was very convenient.

We have several rental houses and whenever we have a problem we call these guys. They've helped us for several years. They are extremely reliable. They know what they're doing and their work is done efficiently. I trust them completely. If they say it's fixed, it's fixed.

He came, he plumbed, he left. Very polite and capable. A 'zero maintenance' plumber.

I had a crew here from a local Heat and air company replacing the replacing the ductwork for our furnace. They discoved a leak in our crawl space and determined that our water heater was leaking. I turned off the water immediately and began to check out plumbers. I could not leave with the other crew in my house and remembered that a friend had great response and service from Cedar Bluff Plumbing. My call was taken immediately and within 15 minutes, a tech had called me back and was on the way to my home to assess the problem. When he arrived, he determined that we needed a new water heater and told me about the options avaialable. Once My husband and I decided on the one we wanted, he phoned another serviceman who then brought the new unit while he took out the old one. Start to finish, the process took less than 3 hours! Both men were courteous, professional, knowledgeable and efficient. They even cleaned up the water on the floor and left things looking better than they had before! I might have been able to find a water heater cheaper, but for immediate service and not having to go pick one out and wait for it to be installed, it was definitely worth it. I would absolutely call Cedar Bluff Plumbing again in the future.

Overall, we were pleased. While they were there, they also replaced a cartridge in a leaky sink faucet in another bath - so not sure how much of the bill was diagnosis and how much was the repair for the faucet, but I felt it was reasonable.

He was on time and very quick at the job. On the indoor faucet, he told us what was causing it and that it would be cheaper for us to fix. On another question we had, he told us what we needed to do and even called a supply store and asked for the part to be pulled for us. Excellent customer service. I appreciate that he didn't try to rip us off on the thing that was an easy fix for us to do. Would use them again for sure.

The company was called on Monday morning and had no trouble setting up an appointment on short notice. Two plumbers showed up within about three hours and set to work. I had a couple of other minor plumbing issues, and they helped me with those as well. In the end the drain cleaning needed was more serious than anticipated, and also involved re-gluing a pipe in the garage; the whole work took two and one-half hours. Thoroughly professional people; left the working areas clean and resolved all my plumbing problems. I would recommend them to a friend any time, with no reservations whatsoever.

After many misadventures with many plumbers over the years, this has become our go-to plumbing company, which started when they came out to fix five faucets other plumbers installed wrong. They also figured out how to replace faucets in the jacuzzi tub and our shower when other plumbers, including my husband's brother-in-law, suggested wrong and very expensive ideas. The plumber also went to the plumbing supply store, had the salesman call me and together they helped me work out what faucets would fit in my space, which was tricky, because we were dealing with not being able to change the shape of the granite countertop. We've paid various amounts depending on the size of the job (which is why the amt doesn't show up on the report), but they've always been competitive and best yet, they're punctual, friendly, and get it right the first time! We could not recommend them more highly!! In fact, we're putting our house up for sale soon and plan to have them back to fix a kitchen drip before we call the realtor.

I had to supply a trash bag and a screwdriver. Plumber was courteous but curt.

I'd check current insurance papers on this company before I used them!!

He was a little late showing up, but got to work immediately. He was through with both jobs within 15 minutes. He was professional and knew excately what he was doing. Even explained a little of it to my husband. I will difinitely use this company again for all my plumbing needs.
