Small Time Movers

They were on time and ready to work as usual. I really like their family owned style of business because they realize that word of mouth is the best advertisement.

It went well. Took longer than I expected.

This was my first ever out-of-town move and I couldn't be more complimentary of the service that I received and the congeniality of the entire staff.

Arrived early went to work immediately, they went of their way to protect our brand new hardwood floors finished the move on time and on budget. Highly recommend Small Time Movers

Fabulous job done by Small Time Movers! Very courteous and professional. Always asking where things go and how to handle furniture carefully. Took their time and made sure the job was done right, yet they were very time efficient. I would definitely use them again, never again Two Men and a truck....never again. Anyone needing a move - contact Bill....you won't regret it.

Great group of people. Owners Are great. Very helpful, professional, punctual and all round a big help. Guys that did our packing and moving we're terrific. Never worried for a minute that something would get broken. We put them through a lot with this move and they always did whatever it took to get things done. Could not give a better recommendation.

Our experience with Small Time Movers was top notch. I have previously used other larger name companies like United and Atlas and Small Time Movers was my greatest experience thus far. We used Small Time Movers for loading and packing a 4 bedroom, multi-level home into a 26' box truck for an out of state move. With the amount of goods and furniture that we had, it was a challenging task to fit into one truck. Deborah, Bill, Charles, and Johnny were professional, personable, and I could tell that they took pride in doing quality work. Bill's 40 years of experience really reflected through ensuring that all items securely fit in the truck and the job was completed right within the window of time that he quoted. Charles and Johnny were very professional, hard working, and efficient as well. Small Time Movers took a very stressful event and mitigated the stressfulness with their expertise, punctuality, and efficiency. I would recommend using them to my friends and neighbors.

This is the second time I've used Small Time Movers in the past three months. Even though there were a few problems with the first move they still did a good job and that is why I used them again. On Friday, October 25, I met the movers at the apartment where everything was to be packed and moved to a house I had purchased. They were on time and worked without stopping or taking any breaks. After the packing was complete everything was delivered to the house where it was unloaded in a timely manner. They were done in under 4 hours and everything was great. On the first move the items that would not fit in the apartment went to storage. On Saturday, October 25, I met the movers at the storage facility. Once again they were on time. They moved everything from storage to the house, once again, in under 4 hours. I would recommend them for a move.

This was a very difficult move. The driveway was steep, narrow and hard to maneuver. The furniture was mission oak, very large and very heavy. The move took place over 2 days. The men arrived right on time and were super careful to protect the furniture, as well as the walls and floors of the two houses. Because the furniture was so large and heavy, there were a few times I honestly thought that something was going to drop and slide down a staircase and through a wall but these guys managed to get everything out the first house without incident which was impressive. No matter how difficult it was to get a piece of furniture down or up a narrow staircase, these guys were extremely pleasant and very thoughtful about how best to make the maneuver. They also moved several heavy large pieces of furniture and exercise equipment from the second floor to the first where we needed it to be so we could sell it. The second house posed problems in that the staircase was very narrow for such large pieces of furniture. Rather than try to get something up that wouldn't fit and ding up the walls, the movers disassembled a hutch type desk that I never thought could be disassembled and reassembled it upstairs. No matter how stressful the situation, the four men were always helpful and congenial. One piece of furniture did get damaged but in all fairness it was truly accidental. It was the last thing off the truck, the guys were totally exhausted and the dolly they were using slipped out of position. The piece was repaired and the owners split the cost with us which I felt was totally reasonable under the circumstances. If I were moving again or even had to have furniture moved so I could put in new flooring or carpeting I would certainly not hesitate to use Small Time Movers. As I said before, this was a very difficult move and considering that, I think they did a great job.

Bill and Small Time Movers were fantastic. I used 2 Men and a Truck a few times before and not only were Small Time Movers cheaper (by quite a lot), they also provided one more person and were incredibly efficient. They arrived on time, cared about providing good service for my goods and taking care of the house....and kept moving the entire time. I will definitely recommend them to my friends and work colleagues.

I talked to Deborah several times when planning our move, she was always pleasant and reassuring, very easy to work with. We decided we needed 2 trucks and 5 men. They were on time, polite, patient, willing, conversational, up-beat, and kind. Bill, Charles, Nelson, Larry, and DeAngelo were great to work with. We were a bit behind when they arrived to load our belongings, not a problem, they got to work immediately and even helped pack large items and art. Were had a strict and difficult deadline, and they made sure to meet it. Due to the timing of our closing, we had pre-arranged for them to leave our stuff in the trucks overnight and deliver to our new home the next morning. Once again, they were prompt and positive even though it was pouring rain! They protected our floors and our belongings as they unloaded. We had several very large and heavy items that had to go up a stairway with several turns, they did a marvelous job with no complaining. At the end of the day, they were soaked and very tired, but remained kind, polite and even comical at times. We would certainly use this company again and highly rate them (A+++).

The owner and a helper showed up on the scheduled day and were courteous and professional. Everything was handled correctly and efficiently. I'll call them next time I need things moved and I encourage others to do the same.

We loved them! The guys were very professional...and funny! This was the first time we had ever paid somebody to move us. After moving ourselves 10+ times in the last 12 years, this was the best moving experience of our lives. We didn't have to lift a finger and they were very careful with our belongings. The owners, Bill and Deborah, were also very friendly and helpful. We would definitely encourage our friends to use them and will use them again if we ever move again.

They were very good. They were very helpful. They helped us with everything. We had no problem. They are very nice people and very friendly.

It started out really well, and the guys worked long and hard,10 hours, in 100 degree weather. It was a really long day. Most of our items wound up where they were supposed to go in our new home, which was good, but after the long day was over, I found that out of the office furniture,(confidential documentation, several pieces of expensive office equipment, and all office supplies) were dumped from two of the pieces of office furniture. Which may have been ok in the end...if they had bothered to pickup and include those items in the move! I consider myself lucky that I was able to retrieve most of the dumped items after the fact. I have not spoken with the owners of the company regarding this, but it surely lowered my first impression and rating of this company.

Smooth as silk. Mr. Thomas and crew were on time, moved things as agreed on, and delivered quickly.

I scheduled this move for a friend. I called Bill and Debra on several occasions about this move. Talked with them about dates and that part of the furniture would be going to storage. Bill asked if I could meet him at the house so he could look at what was going to storage so he could determine what size storage building I would need to rent. Every time I talked to them and met Bill at the house they were always friendly and easy to talk with. We scheduled the packing for a Thursday and the move to take place on Friday. The packers (3 people) showed up on time. I walked through the house with the driver and explained what was going to storage and what would be going to the apartment. Then they started packing. I don't like watching over peoples shoulders when they are working so I let them do their thing. Every once in awhile I would walk around to see what was going on. In one room I had told the driver that some items in the middle of the room were to go to the apartment and everything along the walls would go to storage. Apparently this message did not get conveyed to the person packing this room. When I asked him where the things were in the middle of the room he told me they were in with the rest of the things going to storage. This happened with several items. Mistake one. No communication. They did work hard and at 11 AM it looked like everything was almost packed. I asked the driver how much longer it would be and he told me they would be done by noon. Since they were going to be done early I asked if we could move the things going to storage today. That would be less to do on Friday. He called Bill and said they could do that. So they were accommodating since we weren't going to do any moving until Friday. Got everything to storage late Thursday afternoon so that part of the move was complete. The movers showed up right on time Friday morning and started loading the truck. When they started moving the refrigerator around in the kitchen they weren't sure whether to take it out the front door or the back door so they moved it around several times and ended up scratching the wood floor. Not very professional. Mistake two. I should have said something but I didn't and now I regret not saying anything. They completed moving everything to the apartment by 1 PM. As we were unpacking things we found some boxes that were suppose to go to storage that they brought to the apartment. Also we couldn't find some things that were suppose to come the apartment that weren't there. We opened one box and it had all winter shoes. There were no summer shoes. I called Small Time Movers later Friday evening and told them that the summer shoes must have went to storage and could someone meet us in the morning to find them. Once again they were accommodating and met us Saturday morning to find the summer shoes. When we found them Bill saw they were clearly marked apartment but they were packed for storage. The packers didn't pay much attention to detail. If it wasn't for these small mistakes, stuff going to storage that shouldn't, stuff going to the apartment that shouldn't, and scratching the wood floors, I would have rated Small Time Movers higher. They were punctual and worked hard.

They were very polite and professional. They at first brought too small of a truck. We ended up having to use a uhaul that we had from the day before. They were very accomodating worked around the setback. They made up for in their work ethic. Minus setback of the truck being too small, we had a great experience with the movers. I would highly recommend them.

I called Small Time Movers requesting help to move all furniture and contents from our old residence to our new residence. We were waiting on our closing date for our new home. By the time we received a closing date, we were left one week notice to find a mover and move. Small Time Movers squeezed us into to their very busy schedule and made it happen! We packed up our home and moved all boxes to the closest room near the front door to load. We had our furniture ready to load too-- disassembling it ourselves. The owner of Small Time Movers and 2 more men showed up at our home on time and ready to work-- and work they did! They were very polite, and very careful with our belongings-- wrapping all furniture in blankets. Our possessions filled a 24 ft. truck. After the truck was loaded, we headed to our new home about 10 miles down the road. They immediately started to unload the truck just as carefully as they had loaded it. I had them place all boxes in my new living room, and take the furniture to the appropriate rooms. We assembled our own furniture even though they were more than willing to do it for us. The 3 men only took 1 short break (probably less than 30 mins. and not on the clock) in 6 1/2 hours of work for lunch-- we bought them BBQ for their lunch as their tip! We did our part as a family to make the move good for our moving crew by being organized, and in return they did their part as the movers above and beyond what I had expected. All in all, the move was a great success because of Small Time Movers! Our family has moved 9 times in 14 years, so I feel qualified to rate my experience with this moving company. They are the best bang for the buck by far, most likely trumping their competition. I would call them again in a heartbeat! Thanks Small Time Movers! Note* We chose to pack our own belongings, and disassemble and assemble our furniture to save money on our move, but they offer those services to their customers if needed.

They showed up bright and early at 8 am with three able guys, Charles, Eric and William. Went right to work packing up my mom's antiques. Then loaded up her very heavy and breakable furniture. They were at my house by 2 pm unloading specific items then on to her new house to unload. They placed furniture where we wanted and even moved some twice to make her happy. They were so attentive to her needs, kind and gentle with her. They are not small time at all but very professional, very able, and I will call them again. At $95 an hour for three men, it's worth it to call on them for any moving job I might have in the future. Thanks Bill, Charles and Eric. And I can't forget Bill's wife who expertly scheduled us and made me feel at ease about moving antiques. She even produced proof of insurance via email for me when I asked. Didn't get uppity about it either. As Bill said, "We pay good money for insurance. We are proud to show anyone that asks for proof."

We did not use them. We were unclear if they could work in our state. I do not believe large moves are something they do often. But we could of misunderstood. They were very friendly and sounded accommodating.

Got a call from the movers that they would be late, but were only 10 minutes off the promised time. IMMEDIATELY went to work moving boxes and materials. EXCELLENT care of all our goods. We were loaded and ready to go in only two hours. Even faster at unloading the truck, putting beds together, getting things taken care of, etc. We could not be any more pleased with excellent attitudes, work, and care. You NEED this company if you are moving!

They responded to my Angie's List (email) request the same day it was sent. I described what / where the move entailed. I requested a date (which was about 10 days in advance). We reached an agreement to obtain their services. A few days later, my wife requested I get an estimate. I called and Deborah estimated over the phone the approximate cost (anticipating ~ 4 hours for the entire move). Did I say two girls were involved? They started the move at 8:00am Saturday morning in a pouring rain. They finished loading around 11:15am. They traveled to the new house (~ 3 miles away). Upon arriving, they laid down and taped cardboard to protect the floors and carpet; unloaded the furniture and were leaving at ~ 12:15pm. They were drenched from all the rain. But they remained pleasant through it all. I highly recommend this company. It was as per the reviews that I based this contract. My sister has a move upcoming in the next few months. I will look nowhere else.
