Everything is always great with mid state!we have had new unit, repairs on old units and tune ups with them and each time i am impressed with the mannors and professionalism of each tech. They always wear protective shoe coverings. The office staff is always polite when i call and they always give me a heads up when tech is on his way. They are local and i always like to support local businesses! They will make suggestions if things need to be done but never pressure me to buy.

Mid-State's technician did a great job. This appears to be a high integrity company that is very customer focused. The technician was very knowledgeable, courteous and thorough. I would definitely use Mid-State again and recommend them to others.

The service was great and I would absolutely call these folks again in the future. The technician was on time, very helpful and educated me on my HVAC unit including maintenance. Although the cost to me was $0.00 because I used my free diagnostic coupon, my technician still went above and beyond to provide a good customer experience.

They found several issues wrong with it. They asked if we had a home warranty and also said that we could contact someone from their company to come out and give an estimate. The tech was not pushy at all. He gave a very thorough explanation of what was wrong. The techs are not salesman so they don't try and get you to buy something that you don't need. They are super helpful and if we need a new unit that is not covered by warranty we will definitely be getting it from Mid-State

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was a good experience. They did fine. I spent additional money. I would definitely recommend them and I would use them again. The price was fine.

The gentleman that came out was very detailed, spend a long time trying to find the leak in our a/c. It seems to be a small leak that he couldn't find with the equipment he had. Refilled the Freon and was very professional about it. Would definitely use again.

They did an excellent job but I do not know if they charged anything extra on top of the big deal. They came out shortly after I purchased the deal because they fit around my schedule. They provided excellent service and they were very knowledgeable. I have already used them after the initial service and they did very well on that too.

Very comprehensive cleaning and very nice workers

I called Mid State Air Conditioning & Heating on a Thursday to have someone diagnose the problem I was having with my old HVAC unit. They scheduled a service tech for the following day at 5:00, and directed me to their Angie's List page to print off a coupon for a free diagnostic visit. Adam, the technician, arrived on Friday at 5:00, walked me through my system and showed me exactly what the issues were. We agreed that a complete replacement would be the best option, so he called Robert, the owner, to schedule a time when another representative from Mid State could evaluate my home & find the HVAC unit that would be ideal for our needs. That visit was scheduled for the following Sunday at noon. Chris came on time on Sunday and walked my wife & I through the process of replacing our unit. We thoroughly went through our house room by room, discussing our temperature preferences & HVAC requirements. Chris was careful to explain every aspect of home heating & cooling, what our current unit had been doing & what we could expect from a new unit. He inspected our duct work to make sure that the new unit would be efficient, and discussed our windows & insulation to evaluate how effective a new unit would be. He showed us all the units available, and gave us suggestions about what units would be most reasonable for our home. He was very careful to be sure that we understood every aspect of the units and guided us to a decision that was very reasonable and we felt very confident in. He was thorough, and spent an hour and a half with us on a Sunday reassuring us in the new unit, the company & their installation staff. The unit arrived the following Wednesday, and Brandon arrived on time at 9:00 to begin the installation. There were no problems at all with the install; everything was done quickly, cleanly and very politely. I watched some of the work out of curiosity, and every random question that I had Brandon was able to answer. I had to run an errand during the install, and came back to find him working away, nearly done with the job. When he finished, he took the time to explain my new control unit, and the exterior of the house was clean and showed no signs of work even being done. My wife's flowers planted beside the new unit were untouched, and if it weren't for the yard sign I encouraged them to put by the sidewalk, you'd never know I just had the HVAC unit replaced. Chris called me that afternoon to make sure that everything was done to the standards he had promised, and Robert called me the next morning to make sure I was happy with everything we had done. The guys at Mid State Air Conditioning and Heating were absolute professionals who delivered in every way. They have high standards for their work & the way it is done, and it really shows when interacting with them. They couldn't have made me feel more confident in having an expensive home repair performed, and really impressed me with how quickly and efficiently they completed the job. In less than a week they had my HVAC replaced, called me twice after the job to make sure I was satisfied, and taught me a lot about how they HVAC system works in my house. The unit comes with a year of maintenance in the form of two visits to check up on the system, and I will definitely purchase the annual maintenance plan after. Anytime I need HVAC service, I will definitely be calling them.

It went well. The gentleman that came in were extremely nice and professional and answered any questions I have. I can tell my ducts are in much better shape because I now have less dust buildup on a day to day basis. The only drawback I have is that my hall ways and stairwells are kind of narrow so they left marks on my walls in certain places when maneuvering was tricky. This is because their equipment was big. But I could tell they guys were trying to be conscience of it so I am not upset or anything.

Technicians arrived on time, asked to see the location of the registers that they would need to service, and listened attentively to my questions and were courteous. They let me know how the process was going and finished in the timeframe (2-2.5 hours) that they had mentioned on previous phone conversations. The only issue I had was when they turned on the fan to flush the system with deodorizer there was a lot of dust that came out of the registers and created a thin coating of dust on the areas immediately adjacent to the registers. Because we were busy packing for a move, I didn't mention it to the technicians but talked to Robert Clark (manager) later and he was apologetic and was going to send someone out immediately to clean the house. I told him not to worry about it but suggested to him about opening windows and letting the technicians know in the future to watch for this. He reiterated that he would send someone out to clean, but again, I declined because we were in moving mode and I didn't want to add to the chaos. Bottom Line: I would definitely bring these guys back for an HVAC duct cleaning!

Mid State did an excellent job for us. I called Mid State on a Saturday afternoon after noticing our heating unit had stopped functioning. They scheduled a technician visit for Sunday morning. The technician arrived on time and resolved the issue quickly. Everyone I talked with and met were professional, friendly, and courteous.

Wen t great. They tech was nice, on time and accepted my coupon which was officially expired, but I had been pre cleared to use this because when they cam e out the first time I needed an actual repair and could not sue the coupon. I am totally happy with them.

The technician was right on time. He examined the unit and explained the condition in detail, and in a way that was easy to understand. He did an excellent job.

They did a great job. Also, they gave great tips about keeping things cleaner in the duct system and things we needed to fix in our old house to help out.

2 men ( I think Mike and Steve) arrived on time, were friendly and went right to work. Vents had not been cleaned for many years so they had a big job to do. They were careful going around the house, covers on their shoes to not make a mess. I recommended them to my mom who also had a good experience with their vent cleaning.

To begin, let me preface this review with my circumstance and that I waited almost a year before posting this . On a hot, late May afternoon, my 10 year old HVAC started blowing warm air. I called several Angie's List approved AC companies to perform a diagnosis of my system. As I am sure others who have had to replace a system in the last year or so can testify, you are about to receive an education concerning the diminishing returns of trying to keep an older, lower SEER rated unit running and the costs associated with skyrocketing Freon costs. Right along side of replacing a roof or fixing a septic system, this is one of the biggest upkeep repairs associated with your home so this is one of those expected expenses I was not expecting. As others have mentioned, Chris was our salesperson and was by far the most knowledgeable and courteous of the three companies that came out. He put booties over his shoes when he came in our home, performed his measurement (which no one else did) to determine the proper tonnage for our unit and stayed as long as necessary to answer all of our questions and explain why getting a new system was better than simply fixing the old ones. All of them said the same thing but none went into all of the details. Chris is a great salesman and really sold the knowledge and quality aspects of his company. For the benefit of any reader wanting just a price breakdown, Mid-State was the more expensive of all three when comparing comparative SEER rated units / brand. All seemed to carry variations of similar units with the exception of MId-State which seemed to just carry "Xenon" units which are evidently repackaged Goodmans. The Xenon website leaves a great deal to be desired when researching them but we have a 10 year warranty on the compressor so if it makes it 10 years then we should get our money out of it. After talking it over with the Mrs., she felt most comfortable with Chris and we decided to schedule an intall within 2 days. Mid-State had financing available through GE and an approval was quickly made over the phone to help finance this substantial expense and also helped in the decision making process. I was not available for the install itself. But when I went to take a look at the furnace I was little offput. There were wires that were wadded up and taped together, the unit's breaker box had been moved from the front to the top of the unit (i.e., above 6'), the pipe that channels the condensation to the external pump had been routed to cover up the spare electrical plug that the unit was plugged into and they had re-used the condensation pump from my 10 year old unit. I was not a happy camper. The wires looked like anybody could snag them if they carelessly walked by, I used that electrical plug for all kinds of things in my garage and for the life of me I could not figure out why they would recycle my old condensation pump. My wife asked them during the install why they weren't replacing the condensation pump and was told by the tech that there was no reason to because it still worked. Which I found to be odd. For $8500 a new unit does not have its own? In addition, when I examined the outside unit, the wires looked a bit sloppy there too. I took a bunch of pictures and sent them to Chris to see if this is how everything was supposed to look. The new unit was blowing cold air just fine but I had concerns about the quality of the install in respect of the price. Following the install, I never saw or heard from Chris again but Mid-State's President did call me back. After we spoke, they got a tech out the next day who spent the better part of the day cleaning up the unit (inside and outside of the home as they both had the same issues with fit and finish) and installng a new condensation pump. The length of time that it took to do that being a testament to the condition of the first tech handling the initial install. All was right with the world for the moment. Over the course of the next few weeks and months, I had several issues with the "talking" thermostat seizing up that resulted in the unit not coming on. As we keep pets in our home, no one wants to come home to a locked thermostat and 90+ degree temperatures. It was inconvenient to say the least but Mid-State was always quick to respond at no charge. On one of the occasions, a switch in the outside unit was faulty and it was also replaced at no charge. After the third or fourth visit for problems with the thermostat not working, Mid-State kindly switched it out with a Honeywell model similar to what I originally had and the system has performed flawlessly ever since. A word about the "talking" thermostat originally installed - I don't understand why anyone would want a thermostat that runs on double A batteries instead of having one hardwired running off of the home's electricity. Once I had the Honeywell thermostat installed, the monthly savings became obvious, I saw about a 20-25% reduction in my monthly electric bill and have not needed a service call since then. The tech who they sent out the last few times was always on time, took care to explain what happened and was thorough and a genuinely nice guy. In summary, I would recommend Mid-State. There were a couple of false starts but they always moved to correct them. We purchased a more expensive unit than the entry level one and but that was our choice. The issues that we had were resolved quickly at no charge. This was the first truly major repair we've had to make on our home since we bought it and once our issues were resolved we have had no problems at all. March 2014 Update: We just went through one of the coldest winters I can recall and our bill was notably lower than many of our neighbors. We're about ready for our spring service and I'll update once performed.

I called to get an estimate for my two-system unit to be cleaned and sanitized. I left a message with the operator who informed me that they would call me back. I got a call back within the hour and was met with the owner who was very polite and professional. He gave me what I believe to have been a fair price for cleaning both of my units and unlimited vents. We arranged a time and date for the crew to come out later in the week. The guys arrived 15 minutes early to walk around the house and assess the work. They greeted me with a smile and introduced themselves to me and my family. They made sure to wear booties over their shoes as to not scuff the new floors. The crew of two were extremely polite and professional. They explained what they were doing every step of the way, which made me feel very comfortable! The next day, the owner called me to make sure I was satisfied with his guys. I will definitely use them for all of my heating and cooling needs!

Came at time promised and finished timely. Only negative, tried to sell me annual service plan.

We were contacted promptly and appointment made. 2 workers arrived on time and spent 3 hours cleaning our vents. Very nice and answered any questions we had. Would use again.

My experience went very well. The staff was professional and knowledgeable in their field. I was pleased with the service and would recommend this company to others.

We had disconnected something we thought didn't matter, but the joke was on us--when the temperature plummeted and the house fell to 40 degrees. We did re-connect but for whatever reason it still didn't work--so Mid-State came out to help and thanks to the Angie's List coupon there was no charge. I was so happy with the service I signed up for the maintenance package with them--very reasonable cost. Looking forward to not having to worry about that!

We called at 7:00 pm because our heat stopped working. We were treated very nice by Amy who scheduled someone to come right away. She said the tech would be here by 8:00 pm and he was. He even called when he was 10 minutes away. He fixed the unit and then took his time explaining what he did. He also informed us of maintenance programs with the company. We will use Mis State again if necessary and we will request Brendan. He was a nice young man and took pride in his work.

He did the necessary inspection. Diagnosed a faulty switch as the reason for the noises the heating system had been making. Replaced it. Since then the heat in our home has been more even. The system has been quieter.
