I was very unhappy with them. They sent 2 guys out who barely spoke English. The boss came out in the beginning, but never came back. The person who came behind them to finish the job said they didn't do it correctly and they had to fix the issues before they could even proceed. Of course it wasn't done correctly because there wasn't any supervision. The boss never came back to see the work that was done. I was very disappointed with them.

D&J did an excellent job! They listened to what we wanted and gave us a detailed estimate listing all the tasks/materials required to finish the renovation. They helped us choose the materials needed by providing us a list of local vendors and spending time with us at their showroom coordinating the tiles, stones, paint, etc. During the process, we were able to easily communicate with them and address our questions/concerns. The bathroom turned out beautiful! We got exactly what we wanted! J&D made the remodeling process 'PAINLESS' - even with all the noise and dust... It was a pleasure to work with the entire crew!

I have used J & D Inc to remodel three bathrooms and they all look spectacular and exceeded my expectations. David and his staff are always professional and courteous. I am so comfortable with them in my home that I have left them there alone while I have taken care of other business ... They stand behind their work and I will certainly do business with them in the future.

I've used J&D on several previous remodel jobs. As always, they were very professional from initial estimate/design through completion of project. Everyone on their crew was always polite and respectful of our property. Very skilled workers. They deliver exactly what was promised in the estimate. I think their prices are very competitive. The quality of their work is exceptional. We are very pleased with our new space and plan on engaging J&D for a major bathroom renovation sometime soon.

Started the process in April 2015 with quoting. Selected J&D end of May. Remodeling started early May. The remodeling was staged for my convenience, finishing 90% the master bath before beginning the hall bath. This provided a working bath during the process. J&D suggested this is how we proceed even though it involved some inconvenience to J&D. Nice they put the customer first at their expense! I purchased all hardware and picked out the tile, mirrors, paint color, and stuff like that paying for it separately. Never did anything I bought get billed to me by J&D so I thought their invoice process was accurate. They did require weekly payments for work and materials installed previous week. This was a small pain, writing weekly checks, but it also was useful in keeping financial inventory between work completed and money paid. Work was completed late August which took a bit longer than I liked but I never pushed for a deadline and time was not my issue. It is worth noting termite damage was found once the shower pan was removed. Since I have termite insurance the termite company got involved. This push work back a week until all the logistics on coverage of damage by the termite company was finalized. J&D provided a secondary quote for repairing the termite damage. When work started, again, the damage was repaired and the cost supplemented into my original quote with J&D. Everything worked out and went smoothly. Never know what you will find during a remodeling and J&D worked with me to get by this hiccup. I feel confident recommending J&D for bathroom remodeling. In the future, I would put a finish date on the contract and do what I could to hold them to it. FYI, I am going to have them quote a kitchen remodeling in the very near future. If they are inline with cost and timing they would be my primary choice.

David (owner) came out and measured my shower and had suggested a plan to enlarge my shower. He helped select tile that coordinated with my bathroom, as I was not ready to renovate my whole bathroom at the time. His guys came out as scheduled and were very friendly. They taped up plastic so dust did not get in my bedroom. They were very through in cleaning up after each day and at the end of the job. They were even gracious when my 3 year old son wanted to "help". I have seen his work around town since then and would definitely hired them again.

It went extremely smooth. We had a tall order and everything was done while we were out of town. They answered the phone every time I called for an update. I came home to a new home. I have read past reviews and had spoken with past clients who gave nothing but high praise. I also walked through the St. Jude homes and saw some of J&D's work. I wanted that in my home too. I would recommend J&D over and over.

They came to evaluate the job, were professional but didn't seem that interested as it was a small but detailed remodel. Their pricing was the highest of all 5 vendors that bid on the job, I mentioned this to them on a follow-up call. They said they would get back to me, but never did, so I did ended up not using them.

This was the best experience I have ever had with a contractor. From the obtaining the quote to completion of the work it went exceptionally well. All the workers that entered my home were great. I had open communication during the whole process. The finished product looks so good and I got exactly what I asked for. I will continue to call on this company to perform the remainder of my home projects.

Their workmanship was, in general, very good but a small part of the project they could not do and we had to get someone else finish. Their punctuality and time management was, however, awful. We had to often call them to find out why they had not shown up. We felt as though they were squeezing us in between their other projects and not putting priority on ours. We were told the project would take about six weeks. Because of their time management issues as mentioned above, it took about three months.

Headed up by Ken and David. All of the installers were efficient, professional, provided excellent quality of work, cleaned up after each session. Special thanks to Jeremy / Jimmy - plumbing and fixing our shower valve leak. Special thanks to Freddy / Eddy - Tile Work. Awesome Work!! Shower and bathroom Floor work was completed in a week. One catch, the Glass door and panel for shower had to be measured after shower tile installation (for accuracy). We waited just over two weeks for shower glass door installation. Added Spa skirt work was done quickly - one day. They stuck to the estimate provided for the work and worked with us on any changes we requested. They were easy to work with and stuck to the planned schedules. Some lack of communication at times. (What time workers were going to arrive in morning, and who to talk to about certain aspects.) Had to ask for receipts for payments made. Since this was our first time dealing with contractors/renovations, we were new at all aspects of it, however. Installation completed without issue. Overall - We are very, very pleased, every day we step into the bathroom. How it should be right? ; ) They will be our first thought to call if we have a need in the future. Thanks J and D.

They installed 4 granite shelves in the shower we had previously purchased. They Installed glass shower door / panel with selected handle / towel bar. Bathroom Floor - We removed carpet, pad, and tack strips. They installed tile that we had previously purchased and installed quarter round. Spa Tub Skirt - They removed builder grade skirt and installed cover/ tile that we had purchased.

I ended up going in a different direction. I was just kind of flat on their initial finding. But they did what I asked them to do up to that point. They did not charge more than the $49 big deal. I was not happy with the estimate so I went with someone I was happy with.

We hired J&D to remodel our kitchen, install tile flooring, refinish hardwood floors in another part of our home, and also to paint multiple rooms. We worked primarily with Ken and Shannon, but also David with the tile. They were 100% professional, prompt, and prepared for all of my questions, concerns, and yes, even revisions. I was quite worried about our first major remodel but Ken put me at ease and was very helpful when I had (many) questions. The team was clean, courteous, and completed the project on budget and on time. And the results were GREAT! We are now a few months "post-project" and could not be happier with the outcome.

This is, by far, the worst experience that I have ever had with a contractor. J & D Tile & Hardware Installers, LLC was recommended to me by my next door neighbors Cheryl and Linda. I had actually met David Parker next door and asked for one of his business cards. On Wednesday 2/4/05 at 2:16 PM I called and left a message requesting a quotation. On Friday 2/6/15 at 3:49 PM I followed up with an e-mail identifying myself and, once again, requested a quotation. On Monday afternoon 2/9/15 Wayne Lambert arrived and surveyed the water damaged flooring in my office. At the time, I identified the flooring as a C5010 Bruce Natural Reflections prefinished oak hardwood flooring. The flooring was originally installed by Lowe?s in May of 2005. Water from the sprinkler system had entered through weathered/failed caulking and grout around the window sill a couple of years ago. We had not addressed the repairs at the time because I was working and living in St. Louis and the repair was very low on our priority list. The window sill repairs were effected immediately and we suffered no more water leakage or damage. On Thursday 2/12/15 I sent an e-mail following up on the quotation and on Tuesday 2/17/05 I received a quotation from Shannon in the amount of $800.40. On Tuesday 3/10/15 at 1:47 PM I sent an e-mail addressed to Shannon accepting the terms of the quotation and asked to make arrangements for scheduling a date and time. On Tuesday 3/17/05 at 11:44 PM I sent a second e-mail requesting this same information. Wayne contacted me at 6:29 PM that dame day and advised that the flooring would arrive sometime the following week. He advised that the damaged flooring would first be removed and that the concrete would be checked for moisture and allowed to air out prior to the installation of the new flooring. Based upon this conversation, I assumed the job would take (2) days. I received a call from Wayne on Wednesday morning 3/25/15 at 8:31 AM advising that the installation crew would arrive at my home at 10:00 AM. Without any sort of advanced or reasonable warning, I had to rush to empty the office and then to cover and protect what remained. The crew arrived at approximately 10:30 AM and began working. Once the damaged flooring was removed, it was loaded into garbage bags and the area was swept. Absolutely no preparation of the subflooring, concrete slab, was performed. There was no attempt to remove the adhesive from the previous installation. Additionally, there was no moisture testing of the concrete, although there were no visible signs of moisture. The Armstrong/Bruce flooring was unloaded directly from the van and brought into the office once the old flooring had been removed. The flooring was not staged in the house prior to installation. According to the Armstrong website: ?To acclimate hardwood flooring, move the packaged boards into the room where they will be installed and let them sit for several days, with the cartons open and raised off the ground. This allows the moisture content of the wood to adjust to the conditions in the room. Armstrong recommends acclimation for all their solid hardwood flooring products.? In general, recommended acclimation periods are anywhere from three days to several weeks. Lowe?s recommended and delivered the flooring for the initial installation, back in 2005, one week in advance. At no time were any of the flooring planks tested for moisture by J & B. The flooring was removed in a staggered fashion so that there was no discernable pattern. It was clear from the beginning that the old and new wood planks were not compatible. As the new tongue and groove planks were inserted between the old planks it required two men to beat the new plank with rubber mallets. One would beat the end using the mallet and in some cases hammer a refuge board, used as a buffer, so as not to damage the plank being installed. The other would beat the leading end, from the top down, to keep the board in the groove and provide enough of an impact to keep the board moving forward. Depending on the length of the board, the number of strikes required for each new plank were in the double digits. These particular boards were buttered with adhesive so I?m quite certain that a majority of the adhesive was removed as it was repeatedly beaten and scraped across the concrete slab during installation. The adhesive was troweled on in the open areas of the slab. One commonality throughout the installation was the fact that the installers were constantly removing trash by hand. The crew finished the installation in approximately (5) hours and I issued them a check in the amount of $800.40. On Wednesday evening 3/25/015 at approximately 10:30 PM I inspected the flooring and noticed cupping in two separate locations. At 8:20 AM on Thursday 2/26/15, I called Wayne and notified him of problem. By this time the cupping had actually resulted in the planks actually popping up and free from the floor. Wayne advised that his installers would return on Friday morning. The crew arrived at approximately 8:30 AM on Friday morning 3/26/015. They removed a section equal to about ¾ of the width of the window, which is significantly less than what was originally removed and replaced. The Supervisor immediately blamed moisture in the concrete as the reason for the cupping. This is difficult to believe given the fact that Lowe?s had absolutely no problems with the initial installation over (10) years ago and the fact that there has been no moisture intrusion since the leak several years ago. Unfortunately, we do not know because the moisture levels in the slab were never tested. According to the Supervisor, Wayne was going return to test the concrete slab moisture levels on Monday 3/30/15. Moisture in the slab and/or the hardwood flooring may or may not be a factor in this failure. It is my belief that the failure was caused by a couple of things. The first is the force with which the new planks were installed between the old planks, which caused excessive lateral loads or horizontal forces that caused the cupping. The second is the incompatibility of the old and new flooring, which was caused by the fact that the flooring was not allowed to acclimate to its? environment. Obviously, as the flooring warmed, it expanded. As stated earlier, moisture might be a contributing factor but at this time there is no way of knowing. Adhesive levels and subfloor preparation may have also contributed. Clearly, industry standards and practices were not followed and/or simply ignored. Amazingly, Wayne Lambert never showed up on Monday and I have not heard a word from anyone employed by J & D Hardwood Flooring Specialists for (8) days now. The lack of professionalism throughout this entire ordeal is absolutely astonishing. Clearly Customer service and Customer satisfaction are not a part of the vernacular of J & D Hardwood Flooring Specialists. I have office furniture strewn about my living room and I have a hole in my office flooring, so neither room is usable. Money was never an issue, I simply wanted my floor repaired. In the future, I will not simply rely on the recommendation of a neighbor. I will conduct my own due diligence in the hopes of finding a reliable, reputable and honest contractor. Incidentally, I have encountered multiple enterprise listings since I began researching this business. The BBB website identifies the business as J & D Hardwood Installers. The card furnished to me by Wayne Lambert identifies the company as J & D Hardwood Flooring Specialists. The website and Angie?s List identify the company as J & D Remodel. Home Advisor identifies the company as J & D, Inc. In any event, all of them are tied together by personnel, phone numbers, fax numbers, e-mail addresses or the street addresses.

From the beginning he showed up when he promised, and completed the project on time. His staff, Ken (Foreman) and Shannon (Interior Decorator), were courteous and honest with their opinions. 18 months later and we still have not found anything we would have done differently. We are currently working with David and Ken on the restoration of our home after a severe attic water leak. Again, their workmen have been on-time and are courteous and respectful. We are in the process of purchasing another home and have already consulted with JandD Remodel on proposed improvements we have in mind. I would highly recommend this company. The biggest issue I had at the beginning of my relationship with this company was TRUST! I could not afford to take all the time necessary off from work to "babysit" the efforts. I clearly explained this to David and Ken from the outset. They assured me they would always look to our security. Yeah sure... BUT THEY DID!!! I have complete confidence in this group.

This group of contractors deserve an "A +" for customer service. They are the most trustworthy, professional, conscientious group of guys we've ever had working in our house . We've had the unfortunate luck of having needed lots of work done in the past since our house is old and in need of repair . We have some absolute horror stories about contractors coming into our home, leaving a mess, unprofessional behavior and damaging our home. Not these guys! This is the first company to come in and do high quality work at a fair price while maintaining a high level of integrity and making us feel that our satisfaction is of paramount importance. They are courteous , they clean up after themselves, they are professional. These guys will not rest until the customer is happy. If there are any "hiccups" during the job as is pretty common with remodeling(there could be unforeseen issues), these guys will find a solution and make sure the customer is more than taken care of. David Parker and Ken Newman are easy to work with and all around good people you can trust. Ken is especially friendly, courteous, and helpful going above and beyond to help out his customers. It is very apparent how much he cares about doing a good job, and he is an artist actually with his craft . He does absolutely beautiful work, the results are stunning! We will definitely hire them again in the future and would recommend them to anyone who wants high quality work at a fair price .
