Good Time Movers is the worst moving company I’ve ever had the displeasure of using. STAY AWAY! On our moving day the truck they provided had broken down the day before, but they didn’t service it, they just used jumpers cables to restart it. The gentlemen who actually moved our furniture worked hard and did a good job (for which they got a tip for). However, once the truck was loaded, it wouldn’t start because the battery was dead, and they didn’t have jumper cables. So, the driver asked if we did, which we didn’t. So, one of the owners drove over with a set of jumper cables, but it wasn’t charging the truck. Two other managers came to our home, but neither brought jumper cables. We ended up borrowing jumper cables from our neighbor when he got home from work because we had been waiting for two hours to figure out what they were going to do. They used our neighbor’s jumper cables with one of their cars and the truck finally started and we were able to proceed with our move (why one of the other managers didn’t go buy another set of jumper cables in the two hours we were waiting, just further proves how incompetent they are). After we arrived at our new home and the gentlemen unloaded the truck, one of them called the owner to try and figure out how we were going to be charged for this move because of the two hour delay. I asked if he was going to give us a discount for the inconvenience they caused us. He said that they could offer a 5% or $50 discount. I told him that was unacceptable. First of all, they knowingly provided a defective truck, then they didn’t have jumper cables with that truck just in case it had the same problem it did the day before. They also didn’t have one of the two managers who drove over when the truck was broken earlier in the day bring a second set of jumper cables and ended up relying on the client to provide jumper cables for their dilapidated truck. The owner said that the discount he offered was the best he could do. I told him that he was the owner and there was absolutely more he could do to compensate for our inconvenience and their incompetence. My husband is a firefighter and I’m a nurse and we both had to get up at 0400 the next morning four our shifts. He then went on to tell me that he flew American Airlines a few weeks ago and had a five hour delay and they didn’t do anything for him. Well, I told him that American Airlines doesn’t have the best reputation for customer service (in one survey alone, they had 1 and 1/2 stars from 1,971 passengers), so if he’d like Good Time Movers to be in the same category, he’s succeeding. I then told him I worked for Alaska Airlines for over 7 years and if we inconvenienced our passengers, we provided a complimentary voucher for another flight or an upgrade for that flight. That is how you take care of a customer that you have inconvenienced. The owner then told me that he was not going to do anything for us, he asked me for my credit card number and charged us for the entire move. If you are planning a move, I’d recommend you use another company that has working vehicles and knows how to provided excellent customer services if something goes wrong.
