Couldn't have been a better experience!

When it was time to replace our mattress we went to Best Mattress for three reasons:
1) We try to support local businesses and Best Mattress has been manufacturing mattresses right here in the midlands for generations.
2) Mattresses from Best Mattress are custom made, as are the foundations (box springs) which can be built to a custom height at no additional cost.
3) Customer satisfaction is guaranteed; if a new mattress isn't comfortable it can be modified or replaced by a different model.
Our first choice was a microcoil spring mattress set. It was a deep mattress so we had a 4" base custom made to reduce the overall height of the set. Unfortunately the mattress didn't work out; we could not sleep comfortably on it. At no time did we feel pressured by the sales staff to keep the mattress. Instead, they worked to educate us about different types of mattresses and their unique characteristics. This helped us a great deal in selecting a suitable replacement. We switched to a firm memory foam mattress with an adjustable base and we are very happy with this new combination.

This is a local company that has been in business here for many decades.  I have been doing business with them for several decades myself.  You could not ask for better folks.  They stand by their products and the product selection is excellent.  This isn't the place to go if you want the cheapest deal in town.  This is where you go to get a mattress of qualify that will last for some time and provide you with a good night's sleep.  My most recent purchase was the adjustable base and memory foam mattress.  I don't if it possible to fall in love with a bed but if it is, I am smitten.  After having hip and back pain for months, in one night this new bed cured me.  It is wonderful for watching TV in bed as well.  No more "pillow contortions" to see the screen.  I love the folks at the store.  They know their products and are eager for you to try out all of the products they offer.  I have found that the service after the sale is wonderful too.  Buddy and his "Best" Team are great to do business with.

I purchased a new mattress and box spring to replace a 17 year old set. Unfortunately, during this time I was undergoing cancer treatment and did not have the energy to shop around like I usually do. Co-workers had purchased mattresses recently from Best and were very happy. Based on sales staff recommendation, I purchased one of Best's own line of mattresses and box springs. The delivery people came on time and set up the new mattress and box spring and hauled off the old set. They did, however, leave large pieces of plastic in the yard. Initially, the mattress felt comfortable, but over time, I began to experience back pain and was practically crippled with back pain when I got up. One day I laid down on my guest bed, fell asleep, and realized, no back pain when I got up! I slept in my guest bedroom on a 55(!) year old boxspring and 20+ year old foam mattress for over a year, with little or no back pain. In the last few months I began sleeping again on the Best mattress and the back pains returned, and at times have shooting pains in my back while laying down and when getting up. I cannot put much of a mattress topper (1 inch) on because the mattress is so deep, that I can barely put my sheets on. I cannot afford a new mattress so I guess I am stuck with a $1100 horrible mattress and boxspring. I will admit I never contacted them because I thought you could not return mattresses. I wish I had my old one back!
So service was okay, except for leaving plastic in the yard, the product is what is awful.

The sales lady at the Devine Street location was very helpful and nice and talked us into buying a much nicer mattress than we expected to buy, but convinced us it would be worth it and we were very excited! The mattress was delivered about two weeks after ordering it, and after two miserable nights I called the sales lady back and told her something just wasn't right. She told me to come back to the showroom and discuss the problems with her. After doing this, we determined that the difference was that I had tried the mattress on a boxspring that had movement to it (spring), but they one they delivered did not, so they offered to switch it at no cost. Later that day, the owner called me and argued that the box spring couldn't possibly be the problem, but that he felt that the mattress needed adjustments. I told him I thought the new boxspring would fix it. (I was also a little puzzled why he was telling me something different than his sales person told me) I was very optimistic and felt that this would be a quick and easy fix. After one week of sleeping on the mattress, I called the saleslady back to let her know that I was still unhappy and still didn't feel like I was sleeping on the mattress I'd tried out in the showroom. They offered to come pick it up and make some adjustments. After going back and forth and having the mattress picked up and returned three times over a span of about two months, I was finally told that the mattress was never made right from the begining. This made me feel much better, as it validated my discomfort. They delivered the and quot;correctand quot; mattress and I was still unhappy. After begging for my money back, and being told that getting my money back wasn't an option, the owner offered me a nicer mattress at no extra cost, which I felt was very fair. After a 4 month ordeal and numerous trips to switch, repair, replace, etc, I am still unhappy with the mattress and plan to move it into a guest room later this year. I feel like I have been a victim of bait and switch, and have received very poor and inconsistent service from Best Mattress. The owner was very argumenative and not the least bit sympathetic to my concerns and discomfort. I bought from Best Mattress because I felt very strongly about supporting a local company, but I am not at all satisfied. I would have preferred to be refunded my money and parted ways, but instead, I am stuck with a $2,000 mattress that is very uncomfortable.

They did an excellent job making a mattress to replace the shoddy one that came with our camper. They listened to what we wanted and made exactly that - including the odd size that camper beds often are. We have been completely satisfied with this mattress.

My husband is very ill and was having trouble sleeping. We felt that an adjustable bed would be a good solution. I explained my situation to Buddy and his team and asked if they could expedite the order. The bed was ready for delivery in only a few days. The delivery and set up was perfect. The team called 10 minutes before coming and they arrived early. Set up was quick and they took all the packing materials with them. Could not ask for better. All of our mattresses are from Best. It's great when a local company offers the best service and products.

Very good local company. Their product is a good as any you will find and their customer service was outstanding. Don't go buy from some big box store if can help it, this local company makes a great mattress at a very good price.

I've purchased two separate mattress sets from Best Mattress. The first set was so comfortable that when I needed another for my grandmother, I went back to them. The sets are holding up extremely well! The quality is a lot better than comparably priced mattresses by national brands.
They are locally owned, and they make the mattresses in West Columbia. The owners are the sales people, and they were very professional, honest and friendly. They made sure I got exactly what I needed, and didn't push me to get a higher priced set. They've been in business over 75 years, so I am confident their warranty would be honored if needed.
