If you are reading this review, I wish I could speak to you face to face and tell you (implore you) not to use Flaker Flooring for services. We hired them to install laminate hardwood flooring in our small condo in Keowee Key. We hired them based on decent prices and decent reviews. There were issues with timing and punctuality. The price was increased twice due to needing to to extra work to level (which we agreed to with no issue). Once the work was "complete" there were issues. There were missing transition pieces, missing pieces near the sliding glass door, missing quarter round in areas, and BUBBLING in the flooring. We adressed our concerns and transition pieces and quarter round were added. Upon final inspection the cuts to the wood, around corners, vents, etc were rough. There were gaps at corners that the quarter round didn't cover and there were bubbles/humps throughout the flooring. Never have I seen floors that are not flat. We were told by the contractor that there was nothing he could do and the floors would settle. These were there upon installation. Well, about 6 months later, the bubbles have become large hills in the flooring, and the floor is rising to the point where doors no longer shut because they scrape the flooring. When we called the contractor back out, he said he had no idea why that was happening and wasn't sure how to fix it. We had a reputable flooring contractor come out and inspect the floors. He said that without a doubt, this was an install error. The floors were installed way too tight. There is supposed to be space where the floor meets the wall. This is what the quarter round is there to cover. There was no space. The subfloor also had issues that we were never made aware of. The new contractor stated Flaker Flooring should have never placed floors without replacing the subfloor. There were no temperature or moisture issues present. Again, we never heard a word about it. We paid $7k to have the flooring replaced (as it was unusable) and the work redone. We have asked Flaker Flooring to simply refund their work, and they have yet to. The bottom line is: if you are looking for quality work and a contractor that has integrity and will stand by their work (especially if they make errors)... look elsewhere, and be sure their work comes with a warranty. Please don't trust the other reviews as we did. Please do not use this contractor. You will likely have to have the work redone.

The crew showed up on time and finished up earlier than promised. Very professional and offered good advise. They also cleaned up after the work was performed. Resonably priced also.

Flaker Flooring made an appointment to come to my home to quote my job. After 30 minutes past the appointment time and Mike Flaker had not shown up, I called the office. The office manager called him and he said he was busy and requested a new appointment. I agreed and a new appointment was set for two days later. I said that I understood conflicts can arise, but that he should have called me before the appointment rather than me calling. Two days later, Mike Flaker did not show up for this appointment either, and did not call to reschedule. When I contacted his office manager about the second missed appointment, she requested a third appointment for three days later. I agreed and she said she would check for available times and contact me. It has been two days later and they have not contacted me.

It was an excellent service.

Michael and his team did a perfect job. In just one day they put the floor in for two rooms plus the baseboards. We are very pleased with the results. Everything looks perfect.

The contractor was friendly. That being said the job was not done well. The contractor had to be called back a few times to fix pieces. The cuts were extremely rough leaving some spots in door frames where a hole can be seen between the two. The price increased twice as he encountered "complications". The contractor had to be asked to add trim piece around sliding glass doors, which he did return to complete. The largest issue is that there are large bubbles of air all over the place underneath the flooring. It was done very poorly. While the individual was nice, we wouldn't consider hiring again.

Mike did an excellent job on our ceramic tile job. Very responsive and a professional job completed.

Had water damage to hardwood Floor, used Angies List to locate floor contractor, had 3 quotes. Mike Flaker seemed to be the most knowledgable and his price was fair. Work quality was excellent, he did a great job matching stain to the existing floor. Highly recommend him for any of your floor needs!

Mike was great! He was incredibly communicative with me, especially as things got crazy and we had to reschedule the time for him to stop by. When he came to check out the problem he clearly outlined what was going on and what my options were. His pricing was great! I am very happy to have found him.

Mikes flooring and wood work were good. But the painting was beyond dreadful. I ended up hiring Certa Pro painters to correct the myriad mistakes made by Mike’s Inexperienced painters. If you need flooring work, he’s your guy. Anything else - no. The painting work cost me an additional $1300, because his workers paid zero attention to detail. And it held up my renovation by more than a month. Ironically, as his workers repainted my kitchen ceiling, they didn’t place a drop cloth on the tile that they expertly laid, scratching it. I spent half a day in my knees scraping paint off of my floors.

Working with Mike was great. He’s very knowledgeable and can do it all. We always put our focus on one project and made it our priority. Never lags on projects and has great communication - was on site every day and always accessible. He’s a family guy and is loyal to his relationships and maintaining his good brand. You cant go wrong with Mike and will be glad you chose him.

He gave great advice. Honest and reliable person, easy to talk with. I would do business with him again. I have also seen some of his work in other homes. Just beautiful.

The installers were punctual and responsive . If there were questions,the answer was answered in a very professional and courteous manner. I have to say,the group works very hard. They rarely stop. They are in high demand and get the job done!

Better then i xpected great work done on time.
