The technician showed up as scheduled and did an initial analysis. The service call charge was reasonable. After the leak test, I asked for a received estimates for single, dual and variable-speed units. The work proceeded after selection very quickly and we are very satisfied with this company. I would recommend them without hesitation.

This was our first experience with Waccamaw Heating & Cooling. Whitney was very accommodating in setting up an appointment quickly and at a convenient time. Scott arrived promptly at the scheduled time and immediately started to perform the spring tune-up on our heat pump system. He began with the air handler in the attic and, when he finished, told me his findings. I had developed serious doubts about the quality of the HVAC installation last year by another company (due to service issues with them), but Scott assured me that the quality was actually exceptionally good. He showed me several photos he had taken of the installation and pointed out the excellent workmanship. He then evaluated the condenser and informed me that there was a kink in the suction line, but it did not present a problem. He performed all work promptly and in a professional manner. We're relieved to know that we have a quality system with an excellent rating. Right after Scott left, I received a PDF tune-up report in my email. We highly recommend Waccamaw Heating & Cooling.

Words cannot describe how happy we are with our new Trane air conditioning/heating unit. We initially met with Davey Jones, who explained all of our options. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable and a real delight to work with. We decided to replace all of our duct work and install a new Trane heating and cooling unit. Andy, Zane and Scott commenced work on this huge project and, from start to finish, worked diligently and professionally. In addition, I really appreciated the fact that they cleaned up every day before they left. Their supervisor, Brian, did a terrific job too. He installed state-of-the art, computerized thermostats and was very helpful in teaching us how to use them. After the job was completed, Brian came back and did a thorough inspection of the work done and tested all of the components. Now that the new system has been installed, the difference in air quality has improved 100%. I highly recommend Waccamaw Heating and Cooling -- you will not be disappointed.

We were so very pleased with the professionals from Waccamaw Cooling from their assessment of our needs, to the various options presented by Dustin to make our home more comfortable. In addition to righting some code issues associated with our current systems, they also made significant changes in ensuring more efficient running units. After we decided what systems we wanted, the units were scheduled for installation within a few days.....and this done during the hot and very humid days of August. Dustin also completed and submitted the paperwork for our eligibility in a Smart Energy Rebate Program and Loan Program through Santee Cooper. This resulted in our financing the entire cost of the new units at 1.5% and receiving an $800 rebate for Smart Energy. The technicians, Andy, Jamie, Jeremy and Tyler, arrived on time and installed two new Trane units in two days. They removed all debris and cleaned up the areas where they worked. Tyler showed us how to operate the touch screen Nexia thermostat systems and he also set up apps on both our smart phones. Would highly recommend Waccamaw Heating and Cooling!.

As with many homes in this area, we had 2 heat pumps; one for the first floor, and one for the second floor of our home. After talking with more than one contractor, we decided to purchase a single heat pump that would service the whole house. We knew that the best way to do that was to purchase a variable speed heat pump. We met with contractors who represented Trane and Carrier. We decided to choose Trane because of some features that the Trane heat pump offered. We decided to have Waccamaw Heating and Cooling do the installation. We chose Waccamaw Heating and Cooling, in part, because of Dustin Rowland, the sales representative who met with us to discuss the variable speed system and the effort he put into the "energy load calculation", which helped determine the tonnage of the heat pump necessary to heat and cool our home. He was very knowledgeable and spent considerable time ensuring the load calculations were accurate. Not all were as thorough as Dustin. He visited us on more than one occasion when we needed more information, and was always available by phone. We ended up choosing a 4 ton XV 20i heat pump system. The unit was installed during the week of February 9, 2015. Unfortunately the unit did not perform well during these cold months. Waccamaw Heating and Cooling personnel were very responsive. They made many visits to our home, trying to resolve the problem. The problem would only exist when a significant heat demand on the unit was required. Ultimately, a Trane representative, David Crotts, got involved, as well as the Trane manufacturing arm of the company. David would drive down from Columbia, and spend time at our home examining the data that was available. The company was also examining the data and trying to determine where the problem was. Ultimately, it turned out to be a software issue, not an installation issue, and was hopefully corrected. It immediately corrected the problem in a cooling cycle. We will need to wait and see if it solved the problem in a heating cycle, but we expect that it has. I can't tell you how responsive Waccamaw Heating and Cooling was during this time. Rhett Prosser, the owner of the company, talked to me on many occasions about the problem and was over at our house a number of times. From Rhett, Dustin, Robbie, Ryan, Kevin, David, TJ, Dave; all were conscientious, professional, and wanted to fix our problem. As it turned out, the installation was fine; it was a software issue that Trane had to fix. We had researched the different heat pump manufacturers, and felt that Trane was the best choice. We would still choose Trane, even with the problems that we had.

I called late on Friday afternoon. Temperature in my condo was 86F. Young man arrived within the hour. He was clean, knowledgeable and personable. Would definitely use Waccamaw Heating and Cooling again and would recommend to others.

All good. Punctuality is important. They made courtesy call before on time arrival. After trying to get 2 other non Angie's List companies to show up I gave up and reviewed those on AL. Success. I will use Waccamaw in the future.

We were in the process of completely remodeling our condo and needed a new heat pump plus exchanger. Looking thru Angie's list form, Waccamaw Heating and Cooling had good ratings. When I called and made an appointment for an estimate, Jason showed on time as scheduled. He then went through the whole condo and took measurements to figure how big a unit we needed and the options to purchase. He was very knowledgeable and should us various things we could do and use, with prices. After completing a J-Load analysis, to make sure we got the right size unit, we came to a price and date to install. As I was away when they installed the units, they came and did the install on the day promised. Approximately a month later when I was able to get to condo, the unit was in. The owner Rhett Prosser was excellent in keeping in contact with me, plus he mentioned he wanted his crew to come in and a do a couple touch up things, i.e. fill in a couple air gaps in the walls. Which I hadn't noticed, and these were done when I showed, on the day and time convenient to me. Without a doubt, I will use them as my emergency company (just in case). Plus, they are coming back to install my Wi-Fi bridge so I can control the heating and air conditioning from my computer on the road. Waccamaw's ID on Angie's lIst is: 5596670

Very disappointed in their response time to even come to the house to discuss what needed to be done, did not seem interested in doing the job. Glad I chose to go with a different company.

The two repairmen arrived within an hour of my call. Both were very pleasant and professional. The repairman showed me the damaged wires and explained what had happened. The job was completed quickly and the fee was reasonable. Plus I got a 10% discount for using Angie's list.

Waccamaw Heating and Cooling (Mathew and TJ) installed a 2.5 ton Trane pacage AC unit in my home. They did and outstanding job. they showed up on time and stayed till the work was done. It was a great job!

Price was 10% higher than others, so went with another vendor.
