I called Handyman Connection after noticing a stain on the ceiling in my dining room and finding it was directly under my upstairs shower. After talking over the problem with the business owner, Scott quickly linked me up with one of his craftsmen with an appointment that was convenient to my schedule. The craftsman arrived on time with tools and materials likely needed to repair a leaking drain. Quickly confirming the problem, he then explained what he needed to do. He cut a hole in the ceiling only large enough to allow room to reach and remove the drain. He then cleaned the drain and replaced all packing materials and gaskets before replacing it. Once complete, he checked his work to ensure the leak was repaired and cleaned up the work area. Looking at the drain afterwards I believe it actually fits better than the original installation. I am thoroughly pleased with the work performed, on time and for the expected cost.

They originally told me it would be $480. But they used a private contractor that charged an additional $175 to the price. I did not like being blindsided with that fee at the end. They did great work and showed up on time. However, I would have liked the total cost up front. Had I known about this extra cost ahead of time, I may have chosen someone else. They came the day they said they would, but the job took a week because the guy stated he had trouble finding the parts. I even did some of the work for them. I will not use them again and would not recommend them.

Items that were painted had to be repainted the next year since they had barely used any paint. Second company's painters job has lasted several years. Handrail on steps had to be tightened up again after one year and I was charged $65 for about a 5 minute job. When I called the manager about this he used some loud, abusive language toward me and said I should be glad that anyone is willing to do this type of thing. The workman told his boss he had been waiting a long time in his car for us since we weren't home but we were home. Manager told me he believed his man instead of me. We had used them 4 times before this last incident and I was shocked that he would talk this way to a regular customer who was only asking why the charge was so high. Update: Used them for several projects and was satisfied at first. However, the last time I used them I contacted their office to question that price asked as I thought it was high. The manager became very belligerent with me, told me that I should be glad that people were available to do that type of work, and used foul language with me. He accused us of making the worker wait several hours, then when I told him that wasn't true, he said that he would trust his man's word over me. He said he would return $10 to me for the complaint about a $65 service. Have not used them since.

Work was done quickly and well done (same day that we called). The people on the phone were very courteous and accommodating. The worker who came to the house was efficient, pleasant and did a good job. No negatives to report regarding service or quality. They helped out when we needed work done promptly. The only drawback would be the high cost of the work 600 dollars not including parts.
