Description of Work
Capital Kitchen & Bath have completed two projects for us and they are currently working on a third project. The first project was a complete gut and remodel of our kitchen and breakfast area. This project was completed in December of 2013. In December of 2014 we had them do a complete remodel of a guest bathroom. Currently they are working on a complete remodel of our master bedroom and master bathroom. | |If we had not been pleased with the first project, we would not have had them do the next one; and that holds true with why we are having them do our master bedroom and bath. | |Construction whether new or a remodel is tricky. You have to work closely with your builder to ensure that the project turns out how you want it to. There are always issues that come up. I will not have anyone do work unless I am present to deal with questions. With Capital Kitchen & Bath, Gerald, Kristen, Mac, Scott, Allen, Nick, Tony, Tommy, and others have been easy to work with and that's why we continue to have them do major projects for us.

Additional work had been contracted but did not proceed. Communication was problematic. The owner was helpful in solving some of the issues.

In fairness, this was a fluid situation in which the remodel spanned 6 months. The design process was cumbersome, and at times, we felt somewhat alone in the process. We would have appreciated a bit more assistance in selecting materials, especially for the kitchen remodel. Thankfully, the granite fabricators recommended we go to granite warehouses in Charlotte to select our stone due to their extensive selection and our desire for color options. We would not have know that was an option unless we visited the fabricators who would eventually cut our countertops. Another example had to do with the selection of the tile backsplash. We knew we wanted copper inserts (4and quot;X 4and quot;), but the tile options I was given included 2and quot;X 2and quot; and 4 1/2and quot; X 4 1/2and quot; tiles. I was told we would just have larger grout lines. I ended up going to The Home Depot and selecting 4and quot; X 4and quot; tiles off the shelf that match our countertops and cabinetry perfectly. Our greatest concern had to do with the lack of communication. There were instances when we were informed the workers would be in the home and they did not show. At other times, we would go through a week or two with no update or progress seen in the house. While we understand the need to readjust priorities from time to time, a phone message or email would suffice. The most unfortunate instance occurred when we arrived home one evening about 7pm to find our furniture had been moved to the garage, floors had been sanded and were in the process of being stained. Although this was part of the contract, we were not notified of the date and time. As a result, we were not able to stay in our home and had to find a hotel for 3 nights and board our dogs. Though we were compensated for the 1st night of inconvenience, it could have been avoided all together. With any remodel project, you have to expect delays. We had delays due to incorrect measurements during the design process, reordering of damaged products and even delays based on our own decision-making and design changes. In the end, the kitchen looks great. If you know exactly what you want and don't mind researching and looking for materials yourself, Gerald and his crew can do the work for you. If you need someone to help guide you step-by-step, from design to completion of the project, I would go elsewhere. It was our hope to use this company for two additional renovation projects. However, we have now put those projects on hold.

I will not be using this provider
Description of Work
Contacted them on coming to our house to replace a fiberglass tub/shower combo into a tile shower. They were suspose to come by on 4-28-14 to give us a estimate. Received a phone call today wanting to know what our budget was? Said the shower would probably cost Five thousand dollars that wasnt including the tile. So if we werent willing to pay that much they didnt want to waste my time or theirs. WELL dont worry because you will not be getting my business.

I am sorry that we will not be doing business together. Your interest in getting a quote is very important to us and I apologize if you feel you were treated differently. A standard size tiled shower, including plumbing rough-in and trim out, waterproofing system with a lifetime warranty, top of the line epoxy grout and silicone caulk, top of the line setting materials, all labor, warranties, insurance, tax and deliveries and a minimal tile allowance would run the budget in between 5K and 7K. We have a team of 6 designers and are very busy working with customers and quotes. Our intent is to meet with all of our customers and help them with all aspects of their jobs, including scopes and budgets. Again, I am sorry that we were not able to meet with you and we wish you much success on the remodeling of your bathroom. Thanks, Kristen Meetze Capital Kitchen & Bath

They were very efficient. They got the job done quickly, so I didn't have to be without water more than a day. When there werer problems, they were quickly resolved and I was very pleased. I would recommend them to others.
Description of Work
They put in granite countertops, as back splash, provided a separate specialist for each task, and two new sinks were installed.

It is now June. I have yet to receive the corrected quote. My husband actually saw the representative at a fund raiser. He told him we had not received the corrected quote. He insisted he had already sent it, but would send it again. He said this in front of his employer. That was in May - still nothing.
Description of Work
I tried to do business with this company. Spent over an hour in their showroom and liked what I saw. Asked for a quote and scheduled a time for them to come out to my home. After they made two changes in their arrival time on the day of the appointment, someone finally came out. He did extensive measurements and I gave a detailed list of what I wanted done. I received a quote in a timely manner, but saw that it contained a few errors. I contacted the representative and told him. He said he would make the corrections and send a corrected quote in a few days.

Service Provider Response

I am so very sorry to read this review. It is always our intention to serve our customers and clients with the upmost respect and response in a timely fashion. And we deeply apologize for the oversight in following up with you. I found your file this morning and did find the revised drawings and quote that you spoke about. I also found extensive work that was completed in order to get you an accurate estimate. I am sorry that you never received this revised information from us. And it is our mistake in not following up with you to ensure that it was received. I am sure you feel that the relationship at this point has been too strained to work together from this point on, but if you change your mind I would be happy to deliver the revised work to you personally and offer you a 10% discount on your remodel. I appreciate the opportunity to respond to your complaint and I am sorry that we fell short on serving you with excellence. Kristen Meetze
