I called and Anthony came out gave me a price and scheduled a time when he could return to fix the fence. I had a section of fence he used to replace (about 12 feet) and he was able to salvage the rest of it. It took about an hour and it looks like new. I am very satisfied with the job and will call him again if I need any fencing. Great work Anthony!

Everything went better than promised!

I dealt with Anthony Mauldin who is the owner, or one of the owners. I did business through him. He was punctual and polite. However, he stated to me that he would put the sealer on the fence if I bought it. I had it here prior to the start of the fence. After completion (with the exception of a small section) of the fence, final payment was made. He called me after several messages were left for him to tell me which day he would come to spray the fence, but never showed. I advised him that the wood used for the fence seemed to be of inferior quality. There appeared to be what I thought was saw dust that had somehow been almost glued to the fence and I had tried to brush it off but it would not move. He told me he would come by and pressure spray the fence and that it would be removed with no problem. He came by, sprayed a small portion of the fence and clipped off a number of nails that his crew had left bent over stating he would return but did not. When I finally was able to contact him again, he stated he had been by a couple of times, but we were not home, but we were home on the occasions when he stated he had come by. On one of the many calls to him to try to get him to come to seal the wood, I advised him that his crew had done a fairly sloppy job on the fence, since they there were so many nails shot through where the nails were longer than the wood and were bent over by a hammer, they left many, many empty concrete bags, trash, and empty water bottles and energy drink bottles strewn over the yard that I picked up for days after. They also used a 2/4 to mount the hardware on the gate that was split. I spent a good bit of money on my fence and I was very disappointed. By the time I gave up on him and paid someone else to spray the wood, it had begun to turn dark. I believe that the wood used on my fence must have come from a scrap pile or second quality wood stock. There were very large separations in the wood in certain spots and very close together in others. I would never use Ladson Fence again.

He (Anthony) did as he promised and I'm quite pleased with his work. He finished 4 days after I made initial contact. A previous quote for the same job was much higher. I have no qualms about recommending him.

I saw that Ladson Fences were top rated on Angie's list so I contacted them for an estimate. Anthony arrived at my house and was very personable and knowledgeable. He was able to show me pics of what he would be doing. He informed me that they would remove my old existing fence and take it away. His quote was very reasonable. He told me that they could start in 3 weeks. In the mean time I had two separate coworkers independently tell me about him and what a great job he does. The day after he gave me the quote I called to give him the go ahead. He told me they could start the next week which was very quick. I was going to be away that week but they were able to put up the fence while I was gone. When I got back the fence was up and looked great. They had cemented all the posts in and it is very sturdy. He used pressure treated wood and ensured that no bad boards were used. All my neighbors commented on how great the fence looked. The gate was done very well and the hardware was great quality. The job site was cleaned up and no materials were left behind. I am glad that I used Anthony and Ladson and would recommend them to anyone who needs a good quality fence for a great price.

Anthony was great to work with. When I called him for a quote, he drove out of his way to meet me and show the brochure of materials and presented the way he approaches his projects. After obtain a few competitive quotes, I found Anothony's to be the best price by a significant amount. That coupled with the overwhelming positive reviews on Angie's List, we decided to go with him. He came out to the house to perform measurements, then called me back a few days later with a quote on the materials. I revised the job to add a dog run area, and he then got back to us with a revised price, and offered to do the extra run of fence at no charge, as he thought it wasn't a significant amount of work. When he met me to measure the fence, it was muddy and pouring rain out, however he met with me anyway to make sure that we get the job going. I was impressed by that. The several times I met with him, he was punctual. We had a lot of rain in the area, so that had pushed our jobs back by a few days - but Anthony showed up a day or two after the original anticipated start date. They began work, and the fence looked good while it was going up. Half way through the job, he called me with some bad news - he had told me that the fence supplier had mis-calculated the material, and we were short a few fence panels and posts. I wasn't thrilled to hear this and I called the fence supplier, and they apologized and admitted it was their mistake. It seemed like an honest mistake, so I simply paid the additional money to get the rest of the material. Anthony picked up the additional material and returned to get the job done. In the end, the fence came out very nice, and we are happy with it. Anthony's price for 2 1/2 days of labor was very fair, and he is definitely not out to try and make tons of money off of people. I found the quality of the job to be very good overall, the the material supplied seemed to be good quality as well. He also left us with a can of expensive touch up paint for the fence in case we saw any spots that were scratched. Anthony is a good guy, doing an honest business, and he works hard and cares about doing a quality job. There aren't a lot of contractors around like him, and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to build a fence. We live in a new development where homes are being built, and I have recommended him to several neighbors already.

The foreman for Ladson fences knows his business. Everything he promised he made good on. He made extra trips to fix little things on the fence so he and I were satisfied. He is s man of his word. The gates are well balanced. Other fence builders wanted one third more in price than Ladson fences.or wanted ten percent less but would not return calls, After two years of casually looking for a good fence builder, I use Angies list and get a good deal in one day.

The company was awesome. Matter of fact I recommend them to anyone, and if you want it done right and quickly they are the company for you. The communication with the workers is very customer service friendly, they will treat you as if you are the most important person to them. They are very friendly. They are very patriotic and acknowledge great respect to veterans.

The job went well. Anthony replaced my old gate by building new driveway gates on existing posts. The gates were made with 1x6 privacy boards and 2x4 treated boards were used to make frames. Site was cleared at end of job. I found Anthony to be both professional and concerned for job at hand. I now have a fully functional driveway gate!

I am new to North Charleston, and used Angie's List to find a contractor to repair/replace my old existing chain link fence. I contacted Anthony at Ladson Fences, because of the review he had on AL, which seemed to balance quality with a fair price - I was not disappointed! Anthony was great to work with, and did a terrific job on my fence - I would use him again for any fencing jobs, and have even recommended a co-worker to contact him for her fence. Best of all, I feel like I got a good job for a great price. My fence clearly needed some work, but wasn't exactly sure of what parts could be repaired versus replaced. Anthony made good suggestions, and didn't replace anything that wasn't necessary, as I had asked. He worked quickly, and finished the job in three days. (Two for the fencing, one day to come back and level off the new fence posts/caps.) He upgraded my existing driveway posts and gate to a more solid design, and it is working great, and best of all, looks so much better from the road. He is honest, and hard-working. I would definitely use him again! Thank you, Anthony, for an outstanding job. You do what you promise, and that's really welcome in 2014.

It went well from beginning to end. His wife was Very helpful in getting me started , and gave me the proper information to have the fenced placed (like who to contact with the county). The owner not only was here every day until the job was done, he and his crew were fast and very neat. This was a smooth ride, and no issues at all. I am Very pleased with his work.

Anthony showed up when they said they would & completed everything on the schedule that he agreed to. Was able to watch some of the work: they were competent & confident in what they were doing - and it showed. The post caps they made from wood were the crowning touch - they looked great! We will paint them black to complete the "low country" motif. The two gates work very smoothly & are easy to operate even for our disabled son. Overall, we are very pleased with the job Anthony & crew did & have received several complements on the fence already! We highly recommend Ladson Fences to anyone wanting a good fence at a reasonable price.

From the first phone call to the last handshake, Anthony and his crew were wonderful. He came out and measured and gave us a written quote. He was patient while we had to get approval from the homeowner's association. As soon as he got the green light, lumber was delivered and work began. It only took them a few days to complete the project. The fence is perfect; built just as requested. The two walk-thru gates swing freely and secure nicely. We are very pleased with Ladson Fence and would definitely use them again.

Anthony is very professional and extremely prompt in following up. He was very accommodating and did a great job. I would contact him again for any fencing needs in the future with no hesitation at all.

He assessed if the fence could be repaired or replaced. I felt the cost was quite reasonable and decided to remove the old one and replace it. The old one was poorly constructed and was leaning. At one point the project was slightly delayed because Anthony had not turned in the correct plat map for the permit. It was not a big deal and the only reason I mention it is to explain that Anthony was honest and up front about his mistake. It was easily corrected. The fence exceeded expectations. Two neighbors inquired about having him do work for them after seeing my fence.

NEVER EVER HIRE THIS COMPANY! YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF!!!!! PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW IN ITS ENTIRETY, I DONT WANT THIS TO HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSE!!! When I first contacted Ladson Fences I received a call back immediately to set up a time for our free estimate. Anthony showed up within a few days and was extremely friendly and pleasant. He seemed to be a good hearted, honest, hardworking, southern man. We are from MA and southern hospitality is still new to us- so when we first met him we felt extremely comfortable with him because of his "southern charm". We were not ready to do our fence for a few weeks as we were pending HOA approval. Once we received the HOA approval we contact Anthony right away, he came the next day to measure, sign our contract, and get his $2000 downpayment (check was cashed immediately), and he began the fence promptly the following week,.We promptly paid him his second installment of $2000 the first day he started working. Two days into the fence being put up my fiancé and i had to travel for work- we were not home when the fence was completed (3-4 days later). My father was house sitting and as a courtesy he paid Anthony the remaining $2000 balance so he would not have to wait to pay his men until we returned home for the completed job. Anthony told my father to check with us to see if we wanted the gates flushed or set back slightly-he said when we came back to let him know (they were set back slightly and look AWFUL!), he was also supposed to come back and install supports for the drive gate which he never did and it constantly flies open. The drive gate was constructed poorly due to cracks in wood and poor workmanship- there is no way this gate is going to last more than a year! When my fiancé came home he inspected the rest of the fence and found some issues- he contacted Anthony seemed more than happy to come back and fix the issues we had found. This was only a week after the fence was completed (second week of July). He was supposed to be back the following week and we are now into almost the end of August and we still have not seen Anthony. I gave him two weeks before initial calling him to see when he would be coming as we hadn't heard from him when he never showed the first time. I have called him once a week since then and every time i call he says "ill be out to you sometime this weekend" and the weekend comes and Anthony NEVER shows. Today he promised he would be out to fix our fence, only to find out via text he would only be fixing the way the gates were set. He replied rudely in a text to me that he would NOT BE FIXING ANYTHING ELSE- even though he had already promised to. He was supposed to be here this morning and when morning went we texted him to see when he would be coming and he stated "he was busy in another job, if it come it then maybe tomorrow but no later". We wasted our entire saturday morning waiting for him to show up! So we called him to figure out what was going on and the phone call ended with him stating our last payment states we are happy with the work completed and NEVER TO CALL HIM AGAIN!! Again we were out of town when the fence was done- out of the goodness of our hearts we trusted the work was done and paid him when he asked to be paid. My dad was house sitting- he does not own the home- and he was not the one the contract was drafted with! The issues we have found with the fence are growing and it has only been one month! Already our posts are leaning, some of the posts aren't even set in cement. He linked onto our neighbors fence and it looks TERRIBLE! He didn't use a post to join the fences, just some mickey mouse job to somehow keep them linked. The list goes on. We are first time homeowners, and just had a baby so spending $6000 on a fence is a lot of money and for the labor that was completed its ATROCIOUS- considering the majority of that $6000 paid for labor, materials were probably under $2500. We NEVER EVEN RECEIVED AN INVOICE! Below is a list of the major issues with the fence: Gates are not flush with the rest of the fence and have cracked and splitting wood where the hinges were installed. Several posts and portions of the fence have nails popping through. Several posts missing: i.e. no post connecting the fence to the neighbor?s fence. He just wedged two pieces of wood into their fence By the neighbors connection the back fence sits 5 inches or above the ground per our HOA we are to have the fence 4" off the ground to allow water to pass though an easement Inconsistent spacing between posts- when asked about the distance being greater than 8 feet he said there wouldn?t be any issue with it. When I asked for a guarantee that the fence would last like this, he said he could not give me a guarantee. Anthony measured out the fence line according to our plot plan, our homeowners association states the angle is off on one side and we have lost some of our land, when i asked Anthony to check this he stated he would not move the fence even if it was off (as a professional who does fences daily he should know how to measure out a property line! Loose and falling pieces of wood throughout the fence are present due to nails not going into the lateral supports. Top of the fence cut poorly attempted to be hidden board with a "border board" Quality of the wood is poor Fence is not straight in the back, it almost "waves" out in some parts. You can look down straight and see SEVERAL posts out of line.

Anthony and his crew were very professional and easy to work with. He was very responsive and returned my phone calls immediately every time. I was a little hesitant when he asked for 1/2 the money upfront (always hearing to never do that with a contractor), but felt pretty comfortable since they had so many great reviews on Angie's List. He followed through on everything immediately; I was never concerned. For example, late one Friday night I got worried about the location of a gas pipe and proximity to the fence posts. Anthony called me back early the next Saturday morning so I wouldn't worry about it all weekend. The fence looks very professionally done; I love the way it turned out. He did everything we discussed in the plans. I also thought the price was very reasonable for the size of my yard and work completed. He came back several months later (as discussed) to stain the wood for a nominal fee. Would definitely recommend to friends!

Anthony was professional and thorough. He came to our house and viewed the area we wanted the gate installed and gave us an estimate on the spot. His estimate was very reasonable and he explained what steps he would take to ensure the longevity of our gate. He answers his own phone and does his scheduling which I think allows him to offer reasonable prices and explains why he is not always able to return calls as soon as a company with an office staff might. I could tell he received my messages, because he would give me a quick call when he was able or just show up and get the next step done as per our previously agreed upon times. The result was that our gate was done within a short amount of time and met our HOA requirements. I will definitely use him again and recommend him for your fencing needs.

It didn't go .. they never called back.

I contacted them via an Angie's List message requesting a quote for a fence installation, and included my phone number. They have never responded to the message nor have they called me. Most unprofessional.

From the first contact to the last it was nothing but professionalism. They started earlier then promised and worked continually for the whole week until the job was finished. Any question or concerns I had during the construction were promptly answered. The quality and the detail to workmanship was outstanding. They definitely want to ensure the customer is happy. I would highly recommend this company to family and friends without any concerns.
